Village Sushi Bar

I didn't expect this quaint little sushi place to be amazing, but it exceeded my expectations, the quality is honestly quite delicious and I love that the rolls aren't bombard by rice. I would definately come back here. The scallop with sauce rolls were absolutely delicious.

A small restaurant decorated in older Japanese nostalgia style. 5 bench seats, 4 tables for 2. Restaurant is very busy for take-outs, and service is good but food maybe slow if not ordered immediately. Food quality is very good and fresh, at decent prices. Two person had salmon tuna salad, sushi with wild salmon, tuna, scallop, eel and pickled mackerel. Ordered BBQ salmon rolls, Futomaki rolls, etc. Yummy and full. Highly recommended.

Checked out Village Sushi for a weekend lunch. Tiny, unassuming hole in the wall (8 seats total) run by a Japanese couple.

We shared a deluxe futomaki ($7.75), chopped scallop roll ($5.25), hotate nigiri ($3.75), tamago nigiri ($2.00), umekyu roll ($4.00), negitoro roll ($4.75), salmon sashimi ($12.50) and shimesaba sashimi ($12.50). A couple rolls had slightly too much rice but the sashimi was delicious.

Simple and fresh.

This hidden gem has some of the best sushi that Richmond has to offer. If you are a fan of negitoro rolls, this is the place. Limited menu but they make quality stuff at a very affordable price. The only problem is the limited store hours. Highly recommended.

Quaint mom and pop sushi place. Food was delicious. Each roll we tried was great. Simple and tasty. Prices were very reasonable. Small dining area, and two outside tables. Service was like you are a guest visiting their home. A nice gem close to the river.

Our family's favourite for sushi takeout. Family-run, consistently fresh. Has limited hours with a smaller menu, but that fits the simple vibe of this place.

Ordered take out from this restaurant for the first time last week. It only took 10 minutes to prepare. The sushi was great! I ordered negitoro maki, ebi salad roll, and alaska roll. All of them taste delicious, and was very affordable too. Will definitely come back more often to try other things on the menu.

Part of our weekly routine for years. Consistently fantastic food and run by the loveliest couple. I highly recommend the tuna salad!

The chirashi is delicious. Ingredients are fresh. Easy to park (directly in front). Will definitely visit again and again!

I have frequented Village Sushi off and on over the past 13-15 years and hands down they are my favorite.

Although open for limited hours throughout the day being a family run business, it's always a pleasant experience interacting with the owners every time I have visited.

The quality of the sushi is always superb and the fact they offer brown rice as an option makes it that much more desirable. During these times, I highly recommend visiting Village Sushi and help support local business. You will not be disappointed!

Awesome little family business with good sushi at a decent price. We've tried a lot of sushi places in Steveston and this is our go to place for basic, no frills sushi!
