Village Sushi Restaurant

This sushi place used to be awesome and delicious! Sadly, over the last several months the taste and quality is hit or miss. I’ve tried several times to go back and try again because the staff are great and it was amazing, and I just can’t spend the money here anymore to see what kind of meal I’ll get. I’m not exactly sure what the problem is lately. The rice tastes just off. Used to be fluffy and sticky. The chicken in the donburi and the beef are either tender and yummy or chewy and dry. The yam in the yam yam roll my last visit wasn’t even cooked thoroughly. It’s too bad, was a great place! Hopefully they can make the adjustments needed to bring it back to 5 star food as the staff are very nice and the restaurant is very clean and cared for. Cute booths and tables and all.

Good sushi place with a large menu. We had the Beef Yakisoba which was piping hot and a good amount. It tasted great. Had the Crunch roll and Sakura special rolls which was good. The service was quick and prices were on the high side but not out of the norm compared to other places.

I was sat in one of the small rooms, which I always enjoy. The service was very fast, friendly, and accommodating to modifications. The food tasted very delicious and fresh - I'm often picky with my chicken and this was better than most I've had at sushi places. I will definitely return and would absolutely recommend!

Awesome roll - loved the crunch, a bit of a zip sauce, good portion. Good sized avocado.

Usually good, not always fresh ingredients, but they are fast snd the closest to my house.

First time trying Village Sushi.
They have a very expansive menu that includes: sushi, Teryaki, tons of rolls, gyoza, etc.
The service at lunch time was prompt and friendly. There have numerous Lunch specials that include the miso soup, white rice, salad, fruit, and spring roll.
The Teryaki chicken Bento box was a good size for lunch. My one suggestion would be to grill the chicken a little longer to give it less of a “soft/wet” texture.
The sauce was good, a little more would have been nice!
The sushime tasted fresh and was delicious!

I’m surprised the reviews are good for this place.
The Sushi was warm, rolls were not tight, miso was packaged, ginger was old, avocado was mushy, tea was scolding, water was warm, and prices were not great either. Go to Sushi Shun or Sushi Mori instead. I didn’t finish my food and feel sick from eating here.

We have ordered from various places in Surrey and have also eaten at world renowned Nobu sushi restaurant. Village sushi has topped them all! In fact, as we were eating at Nobu, my kids commented that they wouod prefer Village sushi over Nobu any day. Village is the best quality sushi in Surrey. We will not order anywhere else.

I’ve been there 3x now and each time service was quick and food was fresh. Chicken Katsu was hot, crispy, and juicy. The portion size is perfect and the side of rice amazing. Tempura is not at all greasy and had good veggie variety. They always give soo much extra sauce with pick up orders when asked:) great prices for quality and quantity!

Good food poor service. Not willing at all to accommodate or change any menu items if you don't like one thing in an item. Most likely will not be returning to this sushi house.
