Also she’s amazing with scheduling. I work at retail and my hours are everywhere, a lot of time I ended up canceling my appointment due to last minute work. She went out her way reaching out to me ask if I wanted to take her cancellation. She’s amazing! Words cannot express my gratitude for her and the staff at violet hair lounge

I see Summer for my hair and she is AMAZING. My favoritest! I have crazy thick hair and she always does a fantastic job. Also, she’s fun to chat with for hours. Highly recommend.

Stefania is RAD! She is so welcoming (as is the entire crew) and her energy is amazing! She asked all the right questions and went above and beyond to make sure I really saw and felt the cut before leaving to make sure I was happy! She has amazing technique and my drastic hair cut turned out so much better than I could have even imagined! Don't be swayed by the price point, you get what you pay for, and what you pay for is "poppin" hair (it's a really good thing apparently) as my 5 year old would say!

My daughter has been going to Violet Hair Lounge for a few years now and she can only say amazing things about it! She comes from the lower mainland to get her hair done there because Summer, who is the stylist she sees has such beautiful talent, she LOVES going to see her and the salon. The salon is such a welcoming environment and Summer is the best of the best! The creativity for hair that Summer has is outstanding! Every time my daughter gets her hair done it looks more gorgeous each time! Summer is truly the most kindest, talented, thoughtful stylist she has ever worked with and creates such an amazingly gorgeous outcome, that my daughter recommends her to everyone she meets as well as the salon for creating such a beautiful experience that keeps her coming back! Her hair constantly gets complimented on due to Summers out of this world skill! She will forever be going to the Violet Hair Lounge and of course always with Summer who brightens her life each time <3

Summer Hilborn is a sweetheart. Very personable stylist who was booked solid for several days when I came looking for an impromptu blowout before a sizable conference the next day; however, she was willing to open the salon early the next day to fit me in. I was extremely grateful as I forgot to pack hair products in my travels & the shampoo/conditioner I used at the hotel was basic enough after gym use but it lacks quality needed for volume.

Summer knew my needs and was able to give my hair that needed boost. The hairwash felt so good with the scalp massage but what made me notice is that as soon as I moved stations, she immediately sanitized the wash area on the fly which is something that even I don't even notice being done in the salons in Victoria I normally go to.

Thank you! Definitely worth coming again next time in the area. Perfect sprinting distance to/from Vancouver Island Conference Centre for businesspeople in a pinch of a presentable do.

This is a great salon. Warm and friendly staff, easy to talk to, and most importantly, great with hair.
I’ve got thick curly hair that can be challenging but Ocea handled it like a pro and I feel great about it.

Fantastic experience at this salon! Ocea is a great stylist and colorist. An excellent cut for curly hair, and subtle and gorgeous lowlights- she's a wizard!

Ocea was amazing! The first time I tried short hair was a nightmare due to the style but Ocean chopped off over a foot of hair and gave me an amazing cut that I absolutely love. Friendly, welcoming, and professional.

Friendly, talented staff and nice atmosphere. The cost was very reasonable and quality/service was excellent. Will absolutely return and recommend. They even sell hair product in refillable bottles! Thank you Ocea, for the lovely haircut!

I started going to Violet Lounge a year ago when I moved to Nanaimo because they had online booking. I continued going because of the atmosphere, the location, and most of all because of my stylist Ocea. Not only is she an absolute delight, she knows how to cut my terribly thin, fine hair. 10/10 recommend Ocea and Violet Lounge.

Violet Hair Lounge is literally the best hair salon in Nanaimo! Summer did my hair and I am so pleased with the results! I got baby lights / balayage and a trim. I am extremely picky with how my hair is done, and am usually never satisfied with the results, but with Summers work I was pleasantly surprised! She was so personable and we talked the whole time which is also a rarity for me while getting my hair done. Many people have asked me where I got my hair done and I have been recommending they go here and ask if Summer can do it for them. So so pleased, thank you so much for your patience and kindness Summer, I really appreciate it! The rest of the staff were also really great, the whole vibe is overall wonderful.

The stylist I saw didn’t know how to texturize and thin the ends of my thick hair into a straight across cut so it didn’t look blunt and bulky on the ends. I’ve had this done well by many stylists in my day, so I would say she was lacking skills even though I asked to see a “master stylist. ” I’m not happy with my cut. UPDATE: I work long hours during the week, and when I asked for another stylist or the owner to come do a corrective cut on the weekend, they refused saying I could only get it corrected by Mary, the one who cut it in the first place, or come in on a weekday. I think the owner should have stepped up.

Summer was nice, polite and professional. I love the haircut and the style she did afterwards, left the salon feeling very satisfied: D
