Had a super great experience with VOKRA! They care about their kitties a lot and they are very responsible when finding the adopter! They make sure all the kitties go to the right families

A great rescue that focuses on Kittens and Pregnant felines. They have an outstanding number of great fosters and teams that help right through adoption. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing people. Karen Duncan is such a gem. She took both my cats treated them for fleas, shaved out my cats mats also fixed my male cat. Gave me weight management food. Forever grateful for how kind she was.

The best agency for cat and kitten welfare. It is a very well run agency, where the animals care is number 1 priority.
They always need more volunteers and the work is fulfilling.

Vokra helped me and partner one cat (in 2021) and one kitten (in 2023). They are very much responsible and they know what they are doing for cats and also the new cat owners. There is a strict process, but it makes sense to be responsible on cats. It's not a general store, so we cannot return because we just changed our mind. However, the policy is very understandable. If we cannot be an owner any more, we can talk to them, so Vokra will help you. They also support the new owner for the budgets of the first medical checkup, a spay surgery cost, and some benefits (a litter, a canned/raw foods/an insurance for about the first month). I really appreciate their hardwork (responding asap).

I left VOKRA an voicemail message asking them if they could take my kittens that I have been taking care of for the last 8 weeks. I left my phone number. I got a phone call that evening. I dropped all four kittens off at the VOKRA Intake Centre the next day. The intake lady was very sweet. All the kittens will be spayed and neutered free of charge. VOKRA offered to spay the mama cat free of charge as well. I am very happy that my kittens are in loving and caring hands now.

Vokra is an amazing charity in Vancouver that rescues cats and kittens. I am a foster with them and they do amazing work. Truly inspiring!

Some years back, a friend introduced me to vokra. She took on two 4 month old cats. A beautiful long hair and my beauty. No one wanted Perry. I fell in love with this beautiful pure black girl. She was extremely vocal. Frightened half to death. It took close to a year before she came to my bed a night. I know she would have been put down because of her issues. She screamed and cried. The faster that brought her and the other cat were so happy to get rid of her. She's now about 7 years old. We love to play together and sit quietly together. She's become one of the friendliest cats one wants to know.

After filling out the application and agreement to keep the kittens/cats safe, I met with the potential kittens and they were perfect for me. I feel fortunate that I met a bonded pair of siblings that were sweet, cute, friendly and healthy. The foster parents were amazing. The adoption fee includes the first appointment / health check and also covers getting them fixed! (Very nice bonus)

Amazing place, to volunteer or to adopt (or foster), just an amazing organization in general.

Very unprofessional. Communication between the coordinator and foster homes was extremely poor. We were approved for adoption, attended viewings then were sent a cryptic message that they would not be able to proceed with adopting to us. We requested a phone call to see if there was a misunderstanding & discuss why. Our last adopter called me the wrong name so I think they had us confused with someone else, but did not even get the courtesy of a callback to discuss. We have been long time pet owners and would have provided an amazing forever home for two kittens - we still will, just not from Vokra. Be careful before wasting hours of your time with the interview and viewing process.

Amazing volunteers who are so helpful and provide every resource one needs. They go above and beyond the scope of volunteers.

I adopted my cat there. Vokra is amazing regarding the cat's wellness. When I adopted, I got training, useful instructions and I learned a lot of things I had no idea about cats, even when I already had cats in the past. They are open to volunteers and receiving donations, so please support them whenever you have the chance.

It was a great experience, and they were very detailed in how to, and what to do with our adopted kitten Tigger. I learned a lot.

This is an amazing organization that does so much for cats. I have fostered with them multiple times and highly recommend volunteering for them.
