Worst Walmart self checkout I've ever experienced. 20 checkouts with only 2 employees- 1 on each far end not willing to come when override is needed for an item. Not coming in Walmart Pickering again. DON'T COME HERE, WORST SELF CHECKOUT.

Can't remember when last I went Walmart but it's just a reminder of why I stopped. Carts randomly in the main aisles, along the back wall, shoes scattered through the aisle and worst part? The men's restroom at the rear of the store smelled so disgusting as if i was in a 1 star campground site. There were even employees that came into the bathroom but it doesn't appear to bother them? Perhaps nose blindness really is a thing? If employees have to use these facilities and also handle food, where does the sanitary aspect come into play?
I went to Walmart on Aug 10 2023 for school shopping. There was a teacher appreciation discount that was available for the week. Upon approaching an associate I was told that the discount was only for staff with ID. I am a childcare worker who does not have an ID. Upon looking on the online advertisement it also mentioned that the discount was for accredited early childhood educator, which made me qualify for This discount. I want to thank mylene for rectifying the situation. I want to thank Shirley for going through the trouble of returning each item so she can apply the discount. I want to also thank Maral for kindly telling me about this promotion. All though it was a rocky start these three lovely ladies made me feel appreciated for being an educator by rectifying the situation! Thanks ladies.
I drove from a very far distance to come here and the lady was very rude to me when I was trying to show her the fact that online said they were open and she's telling me that they were closed. They were still cashing out and I just wanted one item.
This place is useless the clothes area is all messed up not even organized and some of the items are online which shouldn't be no matter what like other ones are this place doesn't know how to do things right
Customer service does not care, online orders take so long to bring to the front I could have done the shopping myself. Snowstorm outside and waited way too long to pick up an order I called in advance to confirm it is ready
Stopped carrying Hunts Manwhich sauce. About 75 brands of tomato sauce but can’t spare shelf space for a single product. This sauce is unique and my go to for sloppy joes. Your employee is wrong, Club House dry mix packets and Manwhich sauce are not the same thing.
I did grocery pick up for the first time at this location, I was served by Arvin and another coworker. He was extremely quick with the order, super polite and friendly, and made the whole pick up experience so easy and convenient. (Loaded the items into my car etc). I love curbside pick up now. The only thing he didn’t do was except a tip from me. I guess they’re not allowed to be tipped for this, and yet still provide excellent service!
Staff not very knowledgeable of store items. Had to ask 7 different associates where butane fluid is kept only to find out they were sold out. Quite frustrating when staff use the excuse "I'm sorry, I'm new or I don't know". Take ownership and find someone who would know, whether a more senior associate or a supervisor. Don't just wash your hands and walk away. You are in a customer service job. Geez
Good location, if you need a few things that concern groceries and home stuff but you don't want to go to different stores this place will help out. Not the best quality on home stuff but for the meantime it will help.
Please, I beg you, be aware if you are purchasing a phone AT Walmart, it is not covered by Walmart. This is basically a third party seller renting space from Walmart. If possible, you are better off purchasing it online from Walmart and covered by their warranty. I spent an hour with this kid named Saleem at the Pickering location. He gave new meaning to the word lazy.
If you need a return unused item and costumer service doesn't help, find the manager of store. This store improved since the renovation happened last year.
Buyer BEWARE! I’m warning you that Walmart now has the worst return policy ever. They are not forthright in letting us know they do not accept returns anymore on final sale items. There is no visible signs anywhere to indicate this, nor is it on the receipt. The only place where you will find this information is on a small note taped to their Customer Service counter (this was pointed out to me when I attempted to return an item). Do they really expect us to look in this inconspicuous spot for their return policy? Why not make large signs visible throughout the store and at the entrance? Because of their con artist approach in their return policy, I find I no longer shop Walmart much. Also, the manager of this location needs some very serious schooling on effective communication and how to handle customer complaints. She comes off as cold and non-caring. Rudest person I’ve encountered in a long long time. Head office needs to investigate this particular location and make improvements where needed. All they need to do is listen to their customers and read the reviews to know what the issues are. Oh btw, let me not forget to mention staff walking around the store on their personal cellphones, the long lineups at Customer Service, and the lack of Covid-19 prevention protocol. Not a good look at all. Need I say more?
Customer service is a joke. Went to return an item and was told this item was final sale. Purchased a few days ago and it was still brand new and never used. Was told they have a COVID policy where certain items are final sale. No signage anywhere to be found in the department indicating the item is final sale. My fault for not looking at their tiny return policy sign initially at checkout that cannot even be seen at eye level. How do you expect customers to return to the store with all these hidden return policies and no exceptions for the customer? Walmart is the only company implementing this type of a hidden "final sale" policy. Other well known companies have never implemented a final sale policy without making it very clear to the customer that it's final sale.
Walmart knows how to cheat it's customers and earn revenue. Won't be shopping at this location or any others again.
The best Walmart in Pickering to shop and work at. Frequented by a lot of black TTC bus drivers. LOL. Thanks for letting me use my child pass ;-) I save a ton of money cause they don't pay me much here.
I love walmart. I can always find stuff that i need at really good prices. BUT I do not recommend their vision center. Sure, its cheaper, but my glasses turned out 3x thicker than when i went to my normal place. Now i look like those mad scientists with the giant goggles:/ lol
Yesterday I was loading the car with our bags when I was surprised by a young man who was waiting to take my cart away. At first I thought maybe he things I wasn't going to put it away properly, but no.this young man was on his way to pick up other carts and decided to stop and take my proactively. I had to ask his name because I've never seen a cart attendant do this before.his name is Kenial (hope I got the spelling right) and he deserves to be commended. He didn't do much, but it doesn't take much to be curious, friendly and helpful. I want him commended for this!
I go in there once a week. I am a single person I spent.about $ 200.oo per month thats food.that eat through the dat and on the week ends some times it verriese by about 10 % they.have good sillection there is also maney maney deals.you can take asvantage off. The place i clear and well kept. Great for parking and they have also lota of other things.you can purchase
This Walmart usually is my favourite. Efficient, and helpful. When I go to pick up orders I usually have to wait 5 minutes. Today for some reason I had to wait over 45 minutes! And I’m still waiting as I type this. An associate came out and apologized and said they were still working on it, which is strange since we received a phone call this morning at 8 confirming it was ready. Very disappointed.
I witnessed a front line healthcare worker refused priority entrance because she didn't work for a large enough company to have a plastic photo ID. The associate was rude and still refused her early entry after she presented multiple pieces of evidence that she was indeed a front line worker. I think front line workers deserve better than that
Lost my business over a $35 toaster oven. Bought a toaster oven and the timer didn't work. Took it back exactly 1 week later in original box and packaging and because I lost my receipt they said they can't even exchange it which is all I wanted. I told them the exact date and which credit card I used they said doesn't matter.
This is my 3rd time picking up from Walmart and everytime I have to wait 30 to 40min! I called them and all they said sorry we are looking for the confirmation number yet he already got my name! Please hire people that can actually do their job right. Very annoying and unprofessional
I've picked up groceries twice now, and after calling for my order I've waited in a pickup spot for an hour, both times, while people around me who had just arrived received their groceries before me. Unacceptable, unprofessional, never again. Hire more people, or get your pick up area under control, I don't know what to tell you but this is ridiculous. Never again.
It is becoming increasingly more scary how much control the government has in our day to day lives. I came to buy decorative plates to brighten up by daughters birthday. No party, no friends over and now, no cute decorations. They're not essential, says the Walmart manager, this according to the government. We taxpayers elected theses people. For what? To remove all our freedoms, joy and hope? Come on Walmart? You are aiding in this gross abuse being imposed on your customers.
Terrible customer service. Asked cashier if I can biy charcoal, she asked me to ask someone in the store. Asked a lady standing next to charcoal, close by Garden center, she also asked me to ask someone else. Asked a guy who was stacking items, he asked me to ask the lady next to hi. Finally that lady was able to tell me what tod o. Very impressive.
Walked in there and it's business as usual. Looks like covid doesn't exist. No social distancing. No limiting number of customers within the store and the shelves look like your shopping at target when they were in Canada. So little product. If you need anything from pharmacy trust me go to a different pharmacy. You'd have better luck elsewhere as the shelves aren't bare.
Came there yesterday to buy those 6$ brownies. Came home and looked at the due date (should of looked at the store) and it's was expired March 5th. Unforgivable. And I don't even know if I can get a refund
I just wanted to let the manager know of an experience I had while shopping last week. I'm a senior and I was buying some things for my daughter, who is moving in with me. Some of the items were big and bulky and I needed help. I asked this Indian man named Bell for help. He not only helped me shop and bring the carts to the cashier, he offered and loaded the items into my car, and it was very cold outside. He had no jacket on, and he never complained. He even brought the carts back inside. My daughter is helping me do this review because I have never felt this valued and happy while shopping. I just wanted to thank him for his kindness.
This review is only for my grocery pickup at this location. Last week I had placed a pickup for my grocery in between 5-6.i went there around 5.: 20 pm and placed called to bring my grocery and they said it was going to take few mins, so i patiently waited until until 6: 10 and they didn't and so i called back 5 mins later and they said they few mins again i waited till 6: 30 and called them told them i have been waiting for my order for an hour and they said they were busy so i told them people after me are getting their orders. My order was ready to go when i arrived at the location. The whole point of ordering 24 hours earlier is that you don't have to wait. Anyway i called them back at 6: 40pm and they said they were sorry and it will be out in a few mins. I Just went in store to grab a few things i needed and left.
It's usually nice shopping at walmart but this location is not very great on customer service sometimes. It would be more fun if they treat people better.
I need to take only half a pill of my blood pressure medicine each day so I requested Derek if they could cut them because I have muscle disability. The first two times were ok but on the third time, only 1/2 were cut and some of them were quartered. When I called about it he just told me to take the other quarter. Seriously? !? !
Some employee grabbed my son by the arm and assumed he was there to steal. When she grabbed him she said "we have camera's here you know, and I'm watching you". Now they have one person checking your receipt on exiting, they have cameras recording you in self checkout.now I imagine leaving along with everyone else but gotta wait til everyones reciept is checked WHICH doesn't do anything cause one night i forgot a bag that had $50 of frozen food at the self checkout and when security checked my reciept said everything is ok.oh and I noticed my debt card never works there.never going there for regular shopping needs. EDIT says Ontario, i don't know why. I have never been there. This is for the Richmond BC store.
They have good quality stuff here. I bought coffee table from here as it was cheaper compare to IKEA. It’s been 6 months still the same condition. Happy with my purchase!
So, this store is almost ALWAYS out of stock. And I mean ALWAYS. Whenever I go there, the important things I need for myself and my family, I can never find. They are always sold out. I literally have to drive into the next city to get to a Walmart that has stock and that I can rely on.
Plus typically, when I'm walking through there, the employees look like they hate their lives, are always chatting up a storm and typically give you a bit of a dirty look if you have to stop and ask them a question. Literally avoid this walmart.
I had spanish onion but the cashier charged me sweet onion! They should know more about their items! I should have checked my receipt before leaving the cashier!
Parking can be a zoo from 5pm (weekdays) and all day on weekends. Standard walmart with grocery section and Mr. Lube, great for oil changes while shopping.
This is the absolute worst Walmart of all time in my opinion. Their products are cheap and they break easily. Sometimes returns can be a pain. You can forget about customer service because it is nonexistent at this Walmart location. Don’t bother calling the store if you’re looking for a product. No one will answer the phone. Only shop here if you really need to. So many better places to shop where employees can actually help you find products you need.
Worst place ever.the stupid manager here is really really bad.we have holiday and tuesday the school is.opening.lots of people and only 3 cashier.the manager has serious brain issues.
Not the best Walmart I've been to. The staff seem miserable and the lines are long. Couldn't find everything I was looking for and no one around to help me.
Terrible employees. They cut the call on you when you try to ask them questions and then don't pick up your call (or if they do they leave you on hold for sometimes 15 minutes and then end the call). Rude managers, rude associates. Terribly congested store go over to ajax walmart (5 minute drive) for better store and nicer employees
Not too bad. I went to get trash bags. The selection of Great Value bags was pretty well picked over but I managed to find two sizes of bags that will do.
