Dealing with a travel agent has its benefits. And Walnut Grove Travel is a professional travel agency. We were reminded of this when our trip to Machu Picchu in March 2023 was in trouble because of the politic unrest in Peru. We had travel insurance, but of course the job of an insurance company is to pay a little as possible. With some well written letters from Walnut Grove travel we were able to recovery 100% of our costs. It was a game of strategy and tenacity with the insurance company. Without Walnut Grove travel would would have got far less. Five Stars for Walnut Grove Travel.

Horrible experience with Maitin. She over promises and under delivers. Doesn't return calls or emails. She sold us travel insurance and said we have 24 hour cancellation when in fact, it was 72 hour cancellation and it totally screwed us as my wife had an emergency surgery 2 days before our trip. Then they decided to cancel our whole trip to try to get us 10% reimbursement, which I never agreed to. Very unprofessional!

They used to be great when Jessie was there, but now they have gone downhill since Maitin took over.

NEVER EVER USE CATHY OR JESSE AT WALNUT GROVE TRAVEL.

I am dealing with a lot of issues with Sunwing since the start of covid. All I have been able to get back was 50% +/-. Cathy received an email in August of 2021 stating Sunwing will be refunding money to a certain amount of clients. Cathy never called me to make sure my credit card information was the same. It's not by the way. Sunwing is now stating they refunded the card number on file that Cathy has. She should have called me to confirm before the refund.

Currently Sunwing is refusing to refund me.even have providing my credit card statements as proof. Cathy is pretty much saying that's all we can do. Sorry so I'm I just out 1300 dollars? Sounds to be the case. Both parties are saying your money isn't gone. But we don't know where it is.

NEVER EVER USE CATHY OR JESSE AT WALNUT GROVE TRAVEL.

I have been dealing with a ton of issues with Sunwing since the start of covid. My husband and I booked our honeymoon with Cathy before Covid began and unfortunately due to Covid we were not able to travel. We bought all the insurances and cancellations and still were not able to get our money back. For the past 2 years all we have been able to get back was 50% +/-. In August of 2021 Cathy at Walnut Grove travel received an email stating Sunwing will be refunding money to a certain amount of clients. However, Cathy never bothered to call us to make sure our credit card information was the same. It was NOT by the way, so we never received the apparent refund. Sunwing is now claiming they refunded the card number on file that Cathy provided so they will not issue another refund. So we are out over $1000. Cathy should have called us to confirm before the refund, but she did not. I have called the bank and they have assured me no refund was processed and I have even gone as far as providing credit card statements to both Sunwing and Walnut Grove. Both parties seem to be washing their hands of this claiming there is nothing they can do. I would NEVER recommend using Cathy at Walnut Grove or Sunwing to anyone! TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!

Recently booked our first Family Vacation to Mexico with Jesse at Walnut Grove Travel! I must say Jesse and his team were professional and wonderful to work with. They even found us the best deal for our budget and found a hotel with a family room and kids club! I would highly recommend them.

Stay far away from this place.
Look at the fake reviews. Awful. No consideration of others. Only in it for himself.

Maitten is delinquent in responding to my travel requested quote, even though she promised within 2 days. Management, why not simply have staff say they cannot help so customers can contact and engage with a more receptive travel agency? Shows unprofessionalism and incompetence and demonstrates a lack of regard for their customers.

I've been a client for around 10years and there is a reason why.

Nothing but great service from the staff and they will search hard to get you the best deal and make sure your vacation is perfect.
