Waterfront Esplanade and Park

Such a perfect place to take a stroll! The flowers and foliage are stunning and varied. Kudos to the city (or whoever is responsible) for keeping this space abundantly beautiful. Bonus: lots of opportunities for coffee, ice cream, shade or taking a seat to stare at the beauty of the river.

You can take different walks with your dogs, children, and even running exercises, rest watching the beautiful scenery.

Always makes me feel like a vacation. Relaxing stroll along the river with palm trees, flowers and many sitting opportunities. Has also playground in the middle and dog park at the end of it and let's not forget the great food and market.

This walk along the Fraser River is popular. There are lovely flowers, lots of spots to sit and a marketplace.

I love heading here for an evening stroll.it is not enjoyable that it costs you 5 bucks to park to enjoy said stroll

Great place to stroll and people watch, with the best waterfront view in the GVRD. Can get crowded though, especially on nice evenings. Near the western end is a fantastic new playground for kids, and at the far western end an off-leash dog area. At the Quay itself are great pubs and restaurants; a fantastic place to have an ice cream and watch the river at work.

I ran off into the bush to recover our frisbee and to my surprise I encountered a squirrel who only spoke in riddles

Love the scene and community as a whole. This place is mostly quiet. Alot of people walking dogs as well.

Waterfront Esplanade and Park is my favourite place to take a stroll at day, at sunset, or at night. It has a beautiful scenic views along both sides of Fraser River. It also has elegantly designed residential buildings, fountains, and manmade lakes. It’s also a great spot to take nice-looking photos.

Having lived near this park, I can attest that this is one of the most serene and beautiful strolls in the lower mainland. My wife and I walked New West's boardwalk on a nightly basis, and it was one of our favorite things to do. I highly recommend it, you'll have opportunities to see seals and herons among other diverse wild life. The Quay is also dotted with good eats, bars and restaurants as well as a few marketplaces and a night market.

Nice scenic walk. Quiet. Should have a bike and walkway divided, currently it's walking only and bikers must dismount, but plenty of room for both.

It's a beautiful riverside park, lot of blooming flowers and here is a nice place for a walk to watch the sunset.

This is such a quiet and scenic walk with beautiful landscaping and succulent gardens. Info boards provide some history and interesting facts about the area. Lovely place for a wheelchair stroll and family and stroller friendly.no bikes in the boardwalk. Men fishing catching some fish off the rail. Well maintained clean and a small playground for littles

Our favorite place to go to for a pleasant stroll. City of New Westminister needs every compliment regarding the general walk conditions.
But their layout of trees and gardens are Excellent, Beautiful and so soothing. It literally elevates an already awesome walk. Keep up the GOOD work C of NW.

Lovely water pierside by the Fraser River in downtown New Westminster It is a Great sidewalk to walk your dog. To ride a bike to rollerblade skateboard or you can even just do a Simple jogging and walking by yourself.further down that you can play Ping Pong and there is public washroom

Love walking along here. Very well maintained and easy to walk. Lots of rest stops if you tire easily

Great walk beside the Fraser River, especially on the sunny days in the spring and summer when flowers blooming.

I think this place represents the area well. Tons of eating options and an organic market, classes for youth? I didnt get into the details of it but the pier and park are beautiful.
The main downside is that you cant get to the muddy shore since it is fenced off + they planted rose bushes to discourage people from going down. Didnt stop me though, I dropped my dro pen and I had to retrieve it.
Oh btw parking is always by payment. There are 30 minute quick parking spots but aside from those, maximum is 3 hours. With tax I paid a little less than 10 bucks.
Oh and apparently in New West, you dont have to put your ticket on the dash. That surprised me a bit.

Quiet and beautiful waterfront. Not crowded usually and fun to take a long walk all the way to Pier park. Stop by and peek through the ‘Hi Spy Viewing Machines’ to get close up views of the Skybridge and the mountains behind. Good place to get beautiful portrait pictures too. I arrived here for the paddlewheeler boat tour a bit earlier than I was supposed to so hung here for a while.

A beautiful walk beside the Fraser River on a wood planked boardwalk. Unique plants and flowers are meticulously maintained and rotated throughout the seasons of the year. Pets, bikes and scooters have their own elevated brick path that runs along side. Plenty of benches and garbage cans. Dim, but well lit during the night.

Beautiful park along the waterfront with lots of flower beds and trees. Benches are located all along it's length. There is both the boardwalk as well as a paved trail along almost the entire length. Beautiful views of the Fraser River make this an excellent place for a walk.

Best downtown outside "bring your own" lunch spot with a FANTASTIC view of the north shore.

Great place to walk the dog. Parking is getting a little tight with all the development. You can get trapped there for quite a while waiting for the train to go by when you want to enter or leave. There is shade here and there on a hot day. Great view of the river. There is a kids park with slides and stuff several locations.

A great place for walking the view is beautiful and there’s tons of benches to stop and take a break and several restaurants to stop at as well for a bite to eat!

A great place for walking and jogging. To enjoy the cool breeze from the river.

Chairs and benches to sit and relax. Read a book, have coffee.

Lots of people sometime. Smiling and greeting, enjoying sun in fresh air.

And, end the day, with dinner at the restaurant, on the quay.
