Good place to hunker down with your laptop, headphones, etc and work on stuff. Decent number of power outlets for charging your stuff but some are a bit loose. Clean and spacious washrooms.

Not sure what the previous complaint about poor staff was about - my experience was completely opposite. The staff was kind and determined to deliver good service. They are ESL, but their English is fine and a little patience makes it fun and easy.
The coffee is good. The cafe is well kept, stylish, airy, and with comfortable seating that is well spaced. The bathroom is clean and well stocked.
They work hard to make a lovely coffee experience. Thank you staff.

Just had an earl grey tea. One large table for meetings or writing/computer work, many other tables & some soft seating.
Lots of space, clean café.
Prices have gone up.just like at Starbucks & everywhere else.

Good customer service. Wheelchair accessible but Not Hard of Hearing or Braille Charts. Needs some improvements to be inclusive for all.

Big place. Many tables and comfortable chairs with electrical outlets near almost all of them. Great coffee and tea and some baked good and snacks. Good atmosphere for meeting, work, study or just relax

Great location just beside a bus stop. I stayed in the area for 30 days and took the bus daily to work and when my wife asks where are your earnings, I showed her this shop. Nice comfy chairs, which could not be found in any other retail coffee shop. Friendly staff. Taste 8/10. Lot of people study and meet up while having a coffee. Variety of coffee but not food. Overall lovely place.

The staff here is so incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed and airy. Was planning a grab and go but decided to sit and enjoy my tea and snack instead.
I look forward to coming back.

Last long weekend after a Dimsum lunch go have a coffee with some Cake or dessert. I step in to this store. However the amazing feeling from this store is very clean people sitting around is quiet and respect. One of the young lady staff said hi with us with very sincere smiling. I don't expect to us. I asking my companion you see your friend you know her? For sure we don't know. Because my daily coffee store visit Only Starbucks. Well I go and see anything we would like to have. The same Young Lady come to us asking anything we or anything she can answer and recommend.
Such amazing experience. I go the Richmond store and The Kingsway store sometimes. I don't have any Good before. The above both store the staff alway NO smile at all. Looks like Customer just Order and Go. Even I Order a coffee in Dark Roast Black no Sugar No Cream. Still get wrong & never think they make their mistakes.
Today I going to hospital to visiting my Mom. Is a good excuse to reconfirm my good feeling experience into the Broadway store. I'm so lucky to see the Same Staff. Exactly as the same experience. This time go and ask her name. She show the Name tag Karen. I talked with her about I'm friends of Starbucks Gold reward program over 10 years. I keep on asking her how you can maintain this professional hospitality service to the customer. She's at that I learned hospitality management from college. I believe customer will like it and the business will keep on coming back.

Being a customer since I moved from Richmond to Vancouver West. This location is much better than the one in London Plaza. Today, I ordered an Iced Mocha with oat milk for a romantic rainy day. I was watching people and the traffic while sitting on the patio. That was all I needed for a tiring day.

I'm compelled to write in response to the recent trio of negative reviews alleging rude staff behaviour to customers. This is so surprising and could not be further from my personal experience with this Waves Coffee location.

This has been my go-to coffee shop in the Fairview neighbourhood for many years. In all that time, regardless of staff changes, customer service has remained unfailingly polite and professional and beverage quality has remained consistently high.

I cannot imagine staff raising their voice or aggressively arguing with customers!

Here are some features I particularly like about this Waves location:

It is comfortable and low key, with an absence of distracting music and a variety of seating types - plus lots of electrical outlets.

I meet a lot of friends here.

The breakfast wraps are really tasty. As are the croissants and cookies - which are apparently now baked fresh in the store. I don't know how long that's been going on for but the aroma of fresh baking is great!

I like the fact that when I ask for "extra hot", my latte or mocha really will be extra hot!

In my experience, Staff is unfailingly friendly, prompt and professional. For example, they repeat the order to confirm they have it just right. And they remember regulars' orders.

I find the Waves app by Spoonity to be a real plus. It's versatile, consolidates gift card values, allows value transfers between app users and racks up the loyalty points.

Here are two things that annoy:

Improved awnings/blinds on the south and west sides of the location would help with the problem of glaring sun!

Face masks are really annoying but wearing them is necessary for the safety of the community. I constantly have to remember that my mask muffles my voice a bit and I need to speak up and enunciate clearly when I order. However, I cannot remember staff every mixing up my admittedly simple orders.

Anyway, I just wanted to get my long-time positive experience with this Waves location on the record.

Some of the rudest staff members I’ve ever encountered in my life. I like the food and coffee here but the rudeness of the staff makes me not want to go back. All the staff always look miserable and nothing but a graveyard vibe amongst the staff anytime I’m there. They just make you feel like an absolute nuisance. Whether management knows it or not the staff members at this particular location are damaging to the brand name.

It seems they are not able to get any customized orders (even very simple one) and the guy gave me an attitude for that. Very untrained employees and terrible customer service.

Very friendly staff. They gave me a large when I ordered a small one for like 3 times. My boy friend and I used to meet there every Friday afternoon.

I just came to this shop this morning at 9am i bought an ice coffee and almond milk for that. When i recieved an iced coffee the young lady gave me almond milk and I pour it to my cup. It is very normal if you can not drink a lot of coffee and you need a little more milk but the old lady non stop yelling at me and said that I cannot pour more milk because I need to pay but actually I already paid for that. I won’t cone back here again and won’t recommend for anyone to try coffee here. So bad service. It wasted my money. I would give -5 stars if I could.

Terrible customer service. Menu said under the iced tea "ask server for flavours" Neither of the baristas knew what flavours they had. I decided to get it anyway, and asked for them to put it in the water bottle I brought. They made it in a plastic cup and then dumped it in my bottle. That completely defeats the purpose of why I used the bottle. Definitely need better training and management.

Owner/manager lady freaked out when I asked for a hot water. Said she will need to charge me. This was after buying a latte and a sandwich (for myself) through out my 3 hr stay. Coffee is not good and even dark roast tastes diluted. Also not enough place to plug in labtops.

This is a bright, cheerful space, with comfortable seating. We had spinach/feta and margherita pastries which were excellent, and my London Fog was delicious! Prices were very reasonable. This will be our new go-to coffee house.

Good spot for studying, lots of small tables and power outlets. Yet the service is less than decent. I asked the barista which baked food was diary free and the response I got was “I have too look through the ingredient list, sorry I don’t know. ” And I waited for her further response, and so she checked the ingredient list for 2 pages and gave me the same response again. Also I ordered Wave au lait with soy milk and it was made with regular milk.

I initially contacted Waves directly because I was so disappointed with my experience and I used to come here regularly. I received a polite response but it completely missed the point of my complaint which is why I’m now posting here.
I ordered a soy latte, but there was a miscommunication and the latte was made with cow’s milk which I can’t drink. The barista told me it was what I ordered and wasn’t willing to offer a solution as simple as charging me the extra for the soy milk and remaking the drink. I was on my way to work and ended up leaving without any coffee after paying $5 for one. When I contacted Waves about this I was just told soy lattes cost more and that I should be more patient with the baristas as their English is not strong – even though I indicated that I would have paid the difference and just wanted a coffee. Also, the barista who served me had a Canadian accent. It’s okay for an order to be recorded incorrectly – I worked in a coffee shop myself and have definitely made mistakes - but the way both the barista and the store manager responded has been frustrating and demeaning.

Quiet with great seating and a nice atmosphere. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, a tasty "canadiano", and a Bitcoin ATM.
Although I didn't try one, the wraps and pastries looked very good and were presented tidily in very clean, well lit glass cases.
I had a canadiano which is their version of an Americano. It was very mellow and smooth. Neither bitter like starbucks, nor sour. A very good coffee for most.
There are lots of comfy chairs here. It feels like you could meet with friends. I saw accessible power outlets too for charging devices.
The store was full but not noisy and everyone was busy in quiet conversation.
What more can you ask of a coffee shop?
Overall, highly recommended.
