Wendy's

Many years ago I ate here a lot and always enjoyed it. It’s now almost always disappointing in some way. Something forgotten, something wrong, cold, bad service etc but this was a new low. My potato was literally not edible. It was basically a rock and so dried out. My chicken burger was dried out and missing lettuce. Absolutely disgusting and so disappointing.

I am at this location a few times a month. I’m usually a positive guy, and I see positivity in most situations. I can positively say that they consistently forget something in my order. In the last ten orders only one order is totally right.

This has been going on for months.

I initially called Wendy’s customer service toll free, and they said Management at the store would get back to me during the week to make it right. They never did!

I’ve stopped calling them. They won’t do anything. I usually just boycott them or go to the Victoria location. It’s a bit better.

Today was it. I decided to write this negative review. If local management doesn’t care, Wendy’s corporate doesn’t care, then maybe negative reviews from disappointed customers will do it.

This time it was the salad dressings for two Cobb Salad dressings. They were kind to include one package of dried onions.

Other times, they would forget the fries for my Dave’s single cheeseburger combo. Or it would be the wrong drink, an ice tea instead of a root beer. Or there would be no ketchup for the French fries we order. Or no forks for the salads. Or no bacon in the Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers. It goes on and on and on.

Sometimes, we would go back in the drive thru lineup to get the missing items or into the restaurant. No apologies. Nothing. They don’t seem to care. It’s frustrating.

If the founder Dave Thomas was still alive, he would be disgusted by this.

I generally write positive reviews for places I visit. I believe this is my first negative one.

Check your orders and make time to get the orders corrected!

For the last 3 or 4 years this place can't get a single order right, missing items, wrong items. This place was my favorite, now it should just get shut down. Straight up theft, everytime I order every few month hoping they've fixed the problems I'm missing multiple items, have cheaper versions of items. I use to love this place

Got my order wrong on skipthedishes, twice in a row in one night and second time around food was cold, I want my money back.

Once again this Wendy's didn't fail to disappoint on being majorly disappointing! Waited 30 mins for a pre-ordered online order. Only to have half our order missed. And what we did get was terrible or wrong. Wendy's you owe me at least $25.00 for missed items, of course I can't request a refund from the app. Enjoy the picture of this pathetic excuse for a poutine. Imagine if all professions screwed up even a fraction of fast food places. The world would fall apart. Do better or just close down. Fail.

Ordered a Diet Coke. Got to the window, where they have a big screen that shows which drink they’re pouring. She was pouring a Coke, not a Diet Coke, so when she went to give it to me I politely said “sorry, I ordered a Diet Coke not an original Coke”. She proceeded to tell me that what she was giving me was, in fact, a Diet Coke. I drank it. It was regular coke.

The absolute guts of this lady to straight up lie to my face. Can’t help but respect it. Food was awful too. This place doesn’t care about you, they don’t care about the food, the cleanliness, absolutely nada. I aspire to reach this level of chill.

Went 2x, because i thought maybe they had a busy bad day. Both times we waited over 10 minutes to even get acknowledged to order. The second time was worse. Couldn't get the order in and had to call from someone from the back who stomped up and fixed it and huffy breathed at like I was the inconvenient and left to need to be called back again. When we finally got the order, nothing was what we asked for or what the receipt said. There were no spoons available in the store for 2 days in a row. The spills on the counter from the day before were still there the second visit. Not clean or friendly. Wendy's has always been reliably a good place in my experience, and this was the worst one I've been to.

This Wendy's does not understand how to prepare their own food. Order a Chef salad and they put blue cheese on it. They also dumped it on its side in the bag and handed it to me. Bring it back, they speak their language, not English and laugh that they screwed up. DO NOT GO! MANAGER DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO RUN THIS BUSINESS. Expect your order to be wrong, not made right, or incomplete! You have been warned. I live across the street.

I paid for 6pc chicken strips combo and received 3pcs (which arrived at room temp). Some over-fried and almost black fries were also included. I was actually surprised they got my order of dipping sauces correct, but I really feel like this location has dissappointed and shafted me one too many times. I won't be returning here in the foreseeable future.

I often state, if I am going to pay full price at a fast food place. I prefer Wendy's (and here comes the but) however my experience at this particular Wendy's has me rethinking and feeling the disappointment. I know there is a pandemic. I 've driven past the long lineups at drive-thru's and sat in this Wendy's lineup twice during the Covid-19 pandemic, that's Twice in 18 months. The first time they were out of Root Beer pop. Fine, 1st world problem. Now, my second visit, waiting in the 20 minute drive-thru lineup, then placing my hamburger order, the speaker voice (from the kiosk) informs me, they are out of onions and tomatoes for burgers. (Hey, this a burger place)! I inquire, are you discounting the price for missing ingredients. *mumbling voice* while I presume kiosk voice is speaking to a colleague, then "NO! We aren't. " Voice in my head, "you've waited 20 minutes, no sign posted indicating Lack of tomatoes or onions, the kids have been promised food. " Voice outside my head, go ahead with order. DISAPPOINTMENT

Went there for the feature baked potato and got home to see about a teaspoon of the topping and no cheese. Went back today and stressed that it didn't have any cheese yesterday and inadequate amount of topping and it looked okay through the container, but got home to find no bacon topping on this bacon cheese sauce portobello potato and they put grated cheese instead of cheese sauce. This location is the absolute WORST. 30 minute wait every time for garbage food. Have some pride in your franchise. Simply terrible.

The drive theough is almost always packed, understaffed, and takes like 15-20 minutes usually just to be able to give them your order let alone waiting for it. But in the end the food is woeth it!

They are never careful, I often order a triple bacanator and we all know that if you get more patties, it costs more so I have paid for 2 triple bacanators and the burger looks like it would be a triple from one side but they cut one pattie in half to make it look like there are three patties instead

I ordered a medium size vanilla frosty.but they gave me a small size frosty and they put it in an empty medium size cup like it looks like a medium size.this is scam. I will never ever order here again.

They messed up my order as we didn't get what we ordered, receipt was nowhere or be found.and my pick up was taken by another customer

Having said that, I understand it is a fast paced restaurant and mistakes happen.

Was here December 29th bought a daves single cheese burger and fries. Was the worst meal i have ever had at Wendy's at this location. Fries were cold and mostly short ones the burger barely warm. Could not eat it even my two dogs wouldn't eat it. Not coming back.again.

I usually have no problems with wendys but I've been to this location twice and it wasn't fresh both times. With a busy line up I still got warm food. Avoiding this location from now on.

Wish they would turn on their lights to tell you if they are open or not. Always run out of food items or maybe the staff don't feel like making the food? Have gotten cold food or different sized burger patties on the same burgers.

From out of town and saw the Wendys and decided to stop for a quick frosy. 34 minutes sitting in the drive thru later, I'm finally getting my frosty. I was appalled to see that they were helping one customer at a time. They weren't taking orders until the last person had paid, got their food and left. It doesn't seem they know how to efficiently run a drive thru. When I finally got to the window, there was no apology for the long wait or anything. From looking at the other reviews lately, it sounds like this is now the norm here. I won't be back and I would advise anyone to go anywhere else but here.

Probably the worst Wendy's on the island, and I been to all of them from CampbellRiver to Vic.

Wrong orders, out of buns, out of pop. Debit down often, and dont find out till waited in a line up for half hour. Messy dinning areas.

It is apparent that they are under staffed. But so are other Wendy's restraunts and i never ever seen a wendys without buns!

I love Wendy's it is my favorite fast food. They have a Standard that you get used too so the experience is the same where ever you go. This is not the case at this location.

Worst fast food service on the island. Placed a mpackedqobile order since the drive through is always. Stood inside for 20 minutes while the staff ignored the 3 people in line before I got to inquire about my pickup only to be told the mobile app doesn't even work, and they had to manually enter my order in then.

Food is fine but the wait times have been horrendous every time I've gone, at least 10 mins wait for one single item.

Went again, a mobile order for 1 large fries that was ordered at the counter took 10 minutes to make while others behind me got their food. Never going back to this location.

Slowest service in town and they didn't fill up the fries they never do full of staff but not efficient at all

The staff was more concerned about filling the Skip the Dishes order than serving me so the person ordering after me was served before me and my food was cold

I don't know why their supervisors are always yelling at their drive thru employees. I swear everytime they're yelling at them to hurry and hand out their food even why I'm trying to make sure things are in the bag since there is always something missing. Maybe should stop yelling and double checking your bag. Team work, makes the dream work.

This was such a wonderful place for a meal. After CIVID19 no one knows you, the formally welcoming service is gone. Now all you get is a COLD what do you want? Previously staff members and even off duty staff members would come up to our table and ask, calling us by name, how our meal was. Now it is absolutely cold, like they couldn’t care more, and this has us not coming back. The last time you had a specialty sandwich, we asked for it and they told us that is in the US only. You hav a new sandwich and we will try one more time. It looks wonderful, but I am fearful they will be cold and condescending once again

What's the deal with not putting any condiments on their burgers. If they put any on the burger it's not enough to tell. I hit up the downtown one the other day and remembered I actually like Wendy's. They need someone to come show them how it's done because they clearly have no clue what they are doing.

Understaffed and disorganized for a fast food restaurant. Nothing stocked. Took almost 20 min for order.and came in bits and pieces.

My first time at Wendy's, they have really good food, but this establishment was a mess, drinks spills all over the floor, leftover on the tables, tables were sticky. If you are ordering take out is okay, but not recommended to dine in.

Grab a frosty or burger and head to the lagoon. Take your litter home or use the litter containers!

I have never been to a Wendy's with a drive thru soooooo slow. Whatever happened to the 30 second standard? If I could get a$. 99 frosty somewhere else, I would in a heart beat. Grrrrrrr.

Asked for a hunior bacon cheeseburger no cheese no tomato I got a burger on a bun no lettuce no bacon no Mayo

I wouldn’t recommend this Wendy’s at all there’s a rude women that always hands food and drinks over aggressively and looks like it might be one of the “supervisors/part manager” I would highly recommend the Wendy’s in Victoria…

Burger came with complimentary hair. Asked for ketchup, got none, went back, the girl gave me one packet. Service was awful, food was worse. Never going back.

The worst Wendy's on the planet. Incredibly rude staff and they screw up every single order even a Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe.

Always a wait to just get an order through. They don't sound like they even want customers. Also they try to charge me for bacon everytime when I ask them to put it on the side instead of in the burger.

Good burgers but overpriced. Nice beverage selection. Their chicken burgers are not worth your time.

Some days there's no problems and good food, but about 1/3 times there will be an issue. Closing early because of a broken system, being out of all buns, forgetting food, etc, regular stuff but it shouldn't be happening several times a month.

Today I ordered a combo with a poutine and got fries, which happens, but when I went back and asked for my poutine (in the drive thru because they closed their doors early) they said "We're out of large poutine containers, which is why we gave you fries, but the person forgot to tell you". You need to tell customers you're giving them something different than what they asked for, especially when you're downgrading them to something cheaper. Or better yet, just use a different container instead of substituting food.

The kicker is that I ordered a small poutine, so there was literally no reason for them to give me fries.

There are some stellar people working there, and the food is usually good, but the bad management and high frequency of errors means you're gambling every time you eat here.

Wendys management: pay your employees better and maybe you'll be able to emoloy enough adept people to run your restaurant properly. Just a thought.

If you want to go there, understamd they stop serving well before their closing time. They technically close at 11pm on Sundays. We got there at 10: 25 to find they had a paper sign that said they closed at 10: 45, but they had put up a barricade to prevent new orders, so their actual closing time is before 10: 30. Likely it's the same or worse on other nights. McDonalds, A&W, and Burger King are a few blocks away. If you want to order food: go there instead.
Last time I was able to order, there was a long line up and they seemed slow to process the order. They were out of things on their menu like the salads. We eventually got through the line because we were one of the lucky ones.

5 Star service from the person taking care of the Colwood drive thru window today at 12: 20 PM July 19,2021. Food was good. But the manager was very rude to the employee at the window, accusing her of not charging for the extra chicken on our salad when we were charged for it. When the manager found she was wrong she never apologised to the employee. Enquire don't accuse, build up peoples confidence don't break it down! SHAME ON YOU for treating people like that for any reason!

I normally go to the one by Bay Street and always have a good experience. Today I went to the one in colwood. I was very disappointed the way the drive through lady all but threw our food into the car window and I had to go inside to get my drink that they forgot and the floor was disgustingly sticky

Waited in drive through for 10 minutes just to be told we couldn't order because there "system shut down" not happy

Found a long piece of string in my burger. Disgusting. After a super bad experience a few weeks ago then this. Ya I'm never coming back and warning everyone I know. Bought June 29th 4pm.

The employees all seem like they hate their lives working there. Exasperated over the intercom in the drive through and no one even greeted me at the window just thrust out the debit machine and aggressively handed my food while one employee was on her phone. Not friendly at all

This location is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is hot and fresh. MOST of the time the burgers/chicken is warm-ish and the buns are stale. Fries are soggy and cold. Want to give it a fair chance, but the inconsistencies are too many.

Food us good. Service is OK. Always forget to put kids pack dips in the bag, every time. Never straws or napkins in the bag.

This is a decent Wendy's.it's the one I usually visit and that's for a reason.they rarely mess up my orders and the food is always hot. Wendy's downtown forgot my cheese and bacon on a bacon deluxe lol

This location is by far the slowest I have ever seen. It doesn't matter if they are not busy, they cannot seem to make anything quickly. As a courier I am reluctant to take orders from there because I end up waiting and waiting.

Had a very poor experience with this restraunt yesterday. I ordered a single meal at 315, at 330 I inquired about my order and the manager named AMY was very considending to me saying that she could give it to me now but it'll be cold (nice from a customer service manager) I let it go, she left but continued to stare at me. Eventually I got my order at 350, she threw it on the counter like it was a piece of garbage and of course it was wrong. Highly unrecomended, this restraunt doesn't deserve your business.

Super slow drive through. They didn't clear the snow in drive through so it got icy. I was 20 minutes in drive through at 8: 00 pm with only 4 cars ahead of me.

I love this place the double bakennader is the boom with 5 pack of chili sauce drizzled with ever bite love it yummy in tummy

Went specifically for baked potato and they said they didn't have any. After years in business, you should know how long your inventory is going to last on any given day.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION, IT IS THE WORST. They are extremely slow, 1/2 hour to get through the drive through, always out of stuff, out of coke? Seriously? Rude as hell, this time our fries were cold, ordered large, had to correct them at the window about the drink, still gave small fries.and this isn't just one time, it is continuous with this place, I won't go there again, so done with them.
