I would have appreciated more care for my child's concerns and fear about receiving a needle at the dentist. Rather than caring for his concerns, the dentist left that to the temp hygienist and myself as the parent. *Bedside* manner for children needs to be improved. Rather than listening to my concerns as a parent on how the experience could be improved the dentist just suggests go see a specialist.
His words were, " it's not in my training. " when I asked him why he didn't reassure my son that numbing cream works to allow him to give the needle for freezing.
I suggested to let the child know the needle wouldn't be happening today when he refused to treat the child.
I suggested to press the gums with a tool to reassure the child that the numbing cream did indeed take away the sensation of pain. Actions like reassurance can help with calming fears and build trust in a local dentist that is likely more affordable for families rather than referring for a specialist.
When did a routine filling for a 6 year old become something that requires a specialist? Rather than more patience from a dentist, he suggests than the child learn patience and to not fear a needle or have questions about drilling and what happens during a filling.
It appears only a pediatric dentist is capable of caring for kid's dental needs according to this dentist.

I had a great experience as an adult with Dr. Gill for a filling so I had more confidence in his abilities.

I wouldn't recommend for child's dental services.

I have been going to this clinic for more than 5 years. The cleaning is always very thorough and Dr Francis is the best. Great techniques and very nice and patient

The staff and dentists are so patient and considerate! I’ve been going here for 6 +years and have only recently run into some dental troubles - the receptionists were able to get me in quickly to see a dentist, and I was able to book everything within a reasonable time. I don’t work at UBC any longer, and despite the near one hour travel time to Wesbrook, I will still keep coming back because they’re a fantastic practice.

Great office. The staff are very friendly, and the Doctor is very knowledgeable. She is very neutral when it comes to treatment. I have never had the impression that she’s trying to push a procedure on me or wants to perform more dental work than is necessary (I have had this at other dentists).

Fabulous experience at Wesbrook Dental! My hygienist was Mariam and she was the best hygienist I have ever had! She was so kind, thoughtful and considerate during my cleaning. Would highly recommend!

I have dealt with this technician for a few years. Found her to be always friendly and thorough.
Also, my appointments have been done on time.

I like the place as it is close to my home and I can even walk there if necessary. The place is clean.

However, the last 2 occasions, I feel she is rushed as if she has been
instructed to finish as soon as possible. I have no complaints about her work though.

The assistant made what is usually a daunting experience very comfortable, and the dentist was the same way. Very professional and welcoming.

Got my wisdom teeth removed here - doctor was very communicative as the process went along which helped with nerves because I knew exactly what to expect. Couldn't feel a thing, very happy with the results

The dentists are nice and knowledgeable. However, the front desk was rude and incompetent-before the procedure (3 fillings), the estimated bill showed roughly $400, but afterwards, the bill is over $600. When I asked, the Indian lady at the front desk blamed me for going to a different clinic before without telling her, which made the insurance run out. How am I supposed to know which piece of information to tell her? And if that's the case, shouldn't it be $600 on the estimated bill before the procedure? She really just blatantly blamed me for a mistake they made.
I do not want to be blamed for a mistake they made, AND paying an extra $200.
I work in customer service as well, and I know for a fact that this is not the way to do it, at all.

My first time here and they are much better than the clinic I was going to in Burnaby. The check up was very thorough and staff are friendly and put me at ease.

This is hands down the best dental clinic I've ever been to. I get extremely anxious when I visit the dentist because I've had horrible experiences in the past, but all the staff at Wesbrook are so amazing and treat me really well. The front desk staff are friendly and pleasant to interact with. Dr. Arvan is incredibly patient, calm and respectful and makes normally stressful procedures much easier. And the dental assistants and hygienists are fantastic and very friendly. Thank you all for being so patient and kind!

They have even held my hand when I’ve been too nervous while undergoing procedures. My experience has always been great. Receptionists are very helpful and have assisted me in contacting my insurance company several times. Everyone is amazing here. Book your appointment.

Friendly staffs! My hygienist had my teeth cleaned thoroughly and provided me with enough information on how to improve my oral hygiene. All the staffs are professional and my oral conditions were clearly explained, which helps a lot!

Possibly, one of the worst dental experiences I have ever had. I came in for an emergency appointment due to severe wisdom tooth pain, I wanted to make sure the tooth wasn't infected. They told me it was just inflamed and needed to come out, when I told them I already had an oral surgeon (i.e. They would not be making money off me), they stopped treating me and offered no help. I was crying from pain when I left the office and everyone ignored me. Worst dentist I have been to in a long time. (On a side note, they diagnosed a friend with 7 cavities, when she saw a different dentist she had none). DO NOT GO HERE.

All the staff here are great and incredibly friendly. They made me feel taken care of and were also gentle. Definitely recommend!

I appreciate their efficiency, but being the last check up of the day, the cleaning felt rushed at the end. The fluoride paste got painted on my lips and there globs in my mouth.

I came here for a second opinion but became lazy and just accepted all 7 fillings suggested by both dentists. I have to say I regret not doing more research and now one upper left tooth of mine remains sensitive after 6 months and I cannot chew anything slightly harder than plain rice using my left bite.

The fact that I never experienced even the slightest toothache and also not having as many visible cavities as suggested should be a good indication of my cavities being minor and most of them may not require treatment unless they become worse over the years.

My sore upper left tooth will serve as a reminder for me to always remain critical and only go for treatment when a dentist is not dismissive and provide me with all the information needed to make an informed decision.

I will keep looking for a better dentist to minimize the risk of making the same mistake again which already compromised the health of my teeth.

No hard feelings. Have to learn a thing or two about everything these days in order to act in my best interest.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Wesbrook Village Dental Center. Though each patient and situation is different, I have personally never had any issues following my routine cleanings. The receptionists at the Dental Center are attentive, respectful and do well to ensure you're on track and scheduled with them for routine cleanings. I have found my visits, both during and and prior to COVID, to be efficient and seamless.

Doctor Arvan removed my wisdom teeth and made me feel very safe in this setting that originally gave me great anxiety. If you are anxious about going to the dentist in general I really recommend Dr. Arvan who will be very empathetic to your worries. He also did a great job. He was very quick and my recovery is happening well with no complications.

I just switched dentists to Wesbrook Village as I had heard lots of good things about this clinic. On my first visit I had Paige as my hygienist for my cleaning, she was very friendly and took excellent care throughout the appointment. I found the environment of this clinic to be much more inviting than my last dentist’s office. Happy with my decision to visit Wesbrook Village Dental and will definitely be back!

Kind and welcoming staff. The doctor, assistant and technician explained everything they did clearly. Price was fair and upfront. Very nice place for students.

I didn't want to be rude at the time but last year when I was getting retainers fitted, I only wanted my bottom retainers. I said this. They did both retainers (top and bottom) for me even though I said again at the appointment I wanted bottom. When it came to paying and they brought both out, I said I only wanted bottom and they just said "Oh.right. " and looked awkward so I felt bad and paid for both. While my student insurance covered a lot of it it was just so disappointing so I switched dentists. They're nice, that was just such a blow.

Doctor was not gentle at all, got poked in the lip with an injection which was supposed to go inside by mouth. Doctor was rough, was trying to work so fast but truly was not skilled to work that fast so ended up shoving, poking and hitting the sides of my mouth.

Overall experience was downright terrible and unprofessional.

Staff were very kind and welcoming. They did a very thorough examination and cleaning. Will definitely come here again.:)

Very efficient and friendly place. Equipments are very up to date, receptionist is helpful with the forms and informative on information needed, my dentist Dr Fransen was very knowledgable on the shape and structuring of my teeth, my dental hygienist Dianne is the best, she was very thorough, cleaned my teeth very well, very professional on teaching me how to clean my teeth as well. Came to have something done about my tooth that's hurting but after 7 x-rays and an exam, confirmed I have cavity and asked to book an appointment in a week. The exam and service was good but I mean, after an hour of examination I'm still in pain, what about that?

Got my wisdom tooth removed a couple years ago and recently visited back for a filling during covid (felt safe especially with second wave around) Very quick and efficient and they tell you exactly what you need to know. Have been a patient for over 3 years and not disappointed yet.

I usually hate going to the dentist but my experience at the Westbrook dental clinic was great! My dental hygienist name was Paige and she was amazing. Her overall knowledgeable and skill for once made my experience at the dentist enjoyable. She was super friendly and for the first time i didn’t feel like just another patient. At the end of the appointment she told me exactly what I needed to do in order to improve my dental hygiene. My gums are very sensitive but it didn’t matter because she was very gentle around the inflamed areas. My teeth feel and look as clean as ever. I know I don’t take care of my teeth as well as I should but instead of lecturing me like other hygienist she simply told me what I needed to do in order to improve my dental hygiene. It’s nice to have a dental hygienist who is both honest and sincerely cares about your dental health. I highly recommend her and the Westbrook dental clinic. Everyone was friendly and professional. I will never go to another dental clinic.

This group is efficient & fast. The hygienists and dentists could introduce themselves. The dentist came & did an exam-At least I think it was the dentist because she didn’t introduce herself. The office had excellent use if infection protection measures.

The technicians here are super friendly and very gentle. Dr. Franzen has looked after myself and three kids for about 8 years so far and she’s wonderful - very calm and especially great with my one kiddo who’s quite scared of dentist visits. Highly recommend!

In the face of this terrible pandemic Wesbrook Dental remains a friendly, welcoming and thoroughly professional service.
After a cleaning and examination, which was conducted with exceptionally high standards of safety, I just had to tell the office staff “you make dental visits fun”! And in fact, I actually have a fear of dental procedures.
So, enjoy - they are great!

I chose this dentist office after moving from Alberta 3 years ago and couldn’t be happier with my choice! They are consistently professional, cheerful and give exceptional service in all capacities.

Great place to get dental work done as a student. The offices were clean and the staff were very professional and kind. They were upfront with pricing and the made using student dental care very easy. My only complaint is that booking a time is a little difficult since there is no way to know when they are available. A calendar with available dates and times would make the experience perfect.

Dental technicians are all competent & very kind. Attentive to your particular concerns or phobias (eg the manually clean my teeth as the water method is too painful). All their equipment is super high tech and VERY Clean. I appreciate that they don’t charge above & beyond what my insurance pays.

Their friendliness helped to ease my nervousness to see the dentist:)
