The staff is very hard working. I saw nurses working tirelessly and taking care of elders in this cold winter all over the city.
I have had some of my family who had to be admitted for medical emergency, and they were taken care of until everyone of us were okay.
The wait time could be long, or is it just me being impaitent. But there is a mini park inside with live plants and it is warm and beautiful. So it makes time go a little bit faster.

I visit a relative frequently. Most times I easily go in. On Sunday November 19th, the greeter was openly hostile, yelling at me and claiming that she had not slept since the day before. I asked her to stop yelling at me. She was trying to prevent my visit. Her and her colleague both said that this was her normal voice. She continued to yell as I made my way towards the washrooms. I come early and have for several months as I drive from out of town. This is not a problem for anyone except this "greeter". When I left she was sitting at the reception, without a mask, openly glaring at me. Perhaps a different job, where she does not have to interact with people might be more appropriate.

Had to travel here for my wretched colonoscopy procedure. Was so impressed by the professionalism and the empathy & kindness of the nurses, doctor and anesthesiologist, Thumbs up!

Not one good thing about the place. Overall just terrible. Like others have said, if you can, just go to Nanaimo.

Free parking.let's start there. I had to have three procedures done for follow-up for screening mammography. I traveled to PA because no machine at NRGH. What a treat.every single medical and non-medical person was so nice, so thorough, considerate and kept things light. I am beyond impressed. Seriously one of the best little hospitals I've ever been in, and super clean and fresh. Well done Port Alberni. Also started at 1pm out at 3 pm. Unreal!

The slowest, RUDEST did I say slowest hospital that I have ever had to go to, i would normaly drive to Nanaimo but my car is acting up, but it is definitely quicker to drive to Nanaimo.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND going here if you do not have to.

Doctors are very informative, clear and understanding. Very friendly nurses and staff. The interior is fascinating, like a well kept time-capsule with a beautiful indoor garden.

I visited the ER on February 2,2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM approximately. Every person I interacted with was professional and friendly. The whole process was efficient, and you can see that the staff really cares about their patients. A big thank you to Dr. Thompson and the whole team!

Don't bother. Drive to Nanaimo and see a real doctor. The doctors at this hospital lie to your face and don't follow proper protocol. I've seen many doctors here and they're all terrible. Avoid Doctor Thompson at all costs.

4 hours in emergency and no help in site definitely not the country to get sick better of in Mexico 3rd world country and twice the care and no waiting for help with much more qualified people to help

I had to go to emergency the other day as my family doctor was away and the walk-in clinic was overflowing… KUDOS to the amazing nurses and staff who cared for me over a period of 6 hours and showed such compassion and caring for all the patients in the department. I would like to personally thank Doctor Walker for her dedication and professionalism, who I found out was on duty by herself and working a double shift. As a former healthcare professional I consider myself fortunate to be a resident of the city and have access to excellent care at a time when we all know the healthcare system is under such immense strain. KUDOS to all involved and thank you

Never can get ahold of the medical imaging department to confirm or book a appointment there is never any one at this stupid phone whom books theses appointments for medical imaging clients

Marsha a nurse working in the emergency department on November 10th /22 afternoon shift I'm assuming! Was the most rude miserable unprofessional condescending nurse I have ever encountered and she should be ashamed of treating people the way she does. Terrible experience and I was just asking how my friend was and if he was being admitted or not! Very unprofessional.

Unprofessional, chatty emergency room nurses that talk about you behind the curtain as though you can't hear them.
Inattentive, rude and treat you extremely unprofessionally.

The nurses and doctors here were very considerate and quick. Was treated multiple times for my infection and even had to take an ambulance due to a fever. Even the EMT's were patient and effective. One of the worst experiences I've had was lessened significantly due to the help of these awesome people.
