West Coast Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Sadeghi and his assistant removed my last remaining wisdom tooth yesterday. I was pretty nervous after a very traumatic removal at the dentist in 2022, but this experience was vastly different. It was SO fast. I was at the clinic for a total of 20 mins, and more importantly it was painless. Just a lot of pressure. Dr. Sadeghi and his assistant are also very nice, funny, professional and have exceptional bedside manners. I find some doctors can be short and at times not the most caring towards the patient, so I'm happy to report he couldn't have been more pleasant. The front of house staff was also very friendly and helpful. Overall, this was a great experience for what it was. I highly recommend Dr. Sadgehi and his assistant (and this clinic in general) for anyone's oral surgery needs.

My dentist office failed to complete my wisdom tooth extraction. Leaving me with an incomplete extraction.

Dr Barr was able to schedule, finish and fix the mess that was previously caused. I felt I was in much better hands at this surgery and would highly recommend.

Only wish I came to them initially.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr Barr a week ago and never expected to heal so well. I’ve had almost no pain or swelling and no bruising at all, no one could tell I even had them removed. I’m very impressed by everyone in the office, they were all very helpful and called to check in a couple hours after surgery. Would highly recommend the office and Dr Barr to anyone needing wisdom teeth removal.

West Coast Oral Surgery is a little more expensive than some other surgeries, but let me tell you, it is so worth it! From the initial consultation, I really felt like I was in good hands for my wisdom teeth extraction. The procedure itself went really well, and the after care instructions and "goodie" bag were very well thought out. If you are nervous about an extraction. I would highly recommend going here.

I had a very positive experience at West Coast Oral surgery. Dr. Barr removed my wisdom teeth under full anesthesia, the recovery was quick and pain was minimal, I did not take pain meds after the surgery

Re: Dr Barr.
My wife Christine had noticed a small bump on the back of the roof of her mouth. Small and no pain nor redness. Our dentist referred her to Dr Barr who had done previous referral that did not require any specific intervention. Dr Barr could not identify what this bump was and was prepared to refer her to an ENT, but on second thought he decided to perform a biopsy. The results of the pathology report was that it was a squamous carcinoma. He called us immediately and advised us of this finding and referred her case to the B. C. Cancer Agency. The consult with the Ontalaryngologist referred by the Agency concluded that it was Stage One oral cancer. It was Dr Barr's considered decision to do the biopsy within 24hrs of the initial visit has truly shortened the time frame to be treated for this cancer and its excellent prognosis.

Only good thing was Dr. Torrin Barr and his assistants, who were very cordial and quickly removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth in 30 minutes. However, I was really dissatisfied with:
1- The receptionist sent me the pre operative email with the instructions 3 hours AFTER my appointment, when I was already home;
2- When I got to the clinic, the receptionist told me I would HAVE to be sedated because - her words - it was "sedation day" and "it was all explained to me on the phone and I had agreed to it". I told her I was hoping to talk to Dr. Barr first, and then make my decision about being sedated or not; she said that wouldn't be possible, making me pay for it. Thankfully, when I expressed my frustration to Dr. Barr minutes before the surgery, he said there's no such thing as "sedation day" and it was obviously my choice.
3- It's been 5 days and no one from the clinic has called to check on me - for comparison, my girlfriend had only 1 wisdom tooth removed there last November and they called her twice on the same day.
4- Worst of all: my girlfriend called them several hours after my surgery because my mouth had yet to stop bleeding. They said it was normal, nothing to do. That night I woke up at 5 a.m. With my entire mouth filled with blood, almost choking. Girlfriend called the clinic's on-call emergency dentist. He did not give us his name. His words: "This is totally normal. She's a capable adult, she can't choke on her blood. Put a teabag over it. " Did not ask us to call him back. Girlfriend had to FaceTime our friend who's a dentist outside of Canada, and thankfully she promptly assisted us, telling me to immediately try to remove all blood myself - since the on-call dentist wouldn't see me - and put gauze over it once it was clean to stop it - said it's definitely not normal.

There is no negative stars here if was I give -100 stars to this place. All the crew are rude and disrespectful. Reception come to you and talk about payment so many times. The person did the surgery was the rudest person I have ever seen in my life. His name is Torin BARR. I paid extra money for consultation but he didn’t explain anything about the surgery details. If you ask any questions he answers you with “Maybe” and “not today” words and he repeats 3 times. All in all I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Disregard JC review. I was mad and can’t delete it. Dr. Bar is just crazy. Good man. It’s been a long year.

Would highly recommend West Coast Oral Surgery and Dr. Ali Sadeghi for wisdom teeth extraction. The team’s high level of care eased my nerves and my procedure went smoothly. Thanks to the exceptional patience of the receptionists and nurses to answer all my questions, I left feeling well informed and prepared for my next steps.

Underground parkade is conveniently located on Davie St beside the Urban Fare. Elevators from the parkade will bring you directly to the West Coast office.

Diagnosed my friend with possible Osomysotyslis after jaw implant removal somewhere else and Dr Bar emphasized shaving of the face so he would be traumatized with no X-rays or testing just a 10 minute consultation.my friend files complaint with his college and Torrin Bar denies ever saying this words.two years for a law suit and million witnesses.run far away from this parasite and this infested dump.they are in serious trouble

I had a tooth extraction done on a upper back molar that was not loose on Friday and the team at the North Vancouver office were amazing. I have had no pain what so ever and the entire appointment took about 40 minutes. I highly recommend!

Dr Barr and his team (I'm so sorry I can't remember your names) were awesome, I was really nervous and had some complicated wisdom teeth to be removed. The team were so kind and patient, really recommend these guys. Thanks for sweating it out in all the extra PPE you had to wear, appreciate the efforts to get my surgery done during the tricky times.

I have had two extensive in-hospital dental surgeries as well as extractions under sedation at the office performed by Dr. Sadeghi. He is professional knowledgeable and experienced and most importantly, the care he provides is very patient/client-centred. He explained everything to me in detail as to what to expect and answered all of my question and he was ALWAYS available at any time before and after the procedures to address any issues/concerns/questions that came up for me. This was so very valuable. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone, including my friends and family. His office staff are also incredibly helpful and kind as well.

Really nice and bougie office. Took care of me well, very helpful and kind staff. The only thing is that I got a nasty rash over my whole body from the antibiotics. Amoxicillin’s common side effect is a skin rash, I don’t think they should be prescribing it to patients if it’s that common.

I had my wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Barr few months ago. He cut my nerve and ever since then I don’t feel my lower left side teeth and also experience numbness on left side of the chin. I had 2 follow ups and he was quite annoyed second time explaining me that nothing can be done. He is very lucky that I am not suing him for the damage he caused me, damage that will affect me for the rest of my life.

Highly recommend this office for wisdom tooth surgery. Dr. Sadeghi is an excellent oral surgeon and you can expect to receive a high level of care at West Coast Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The receptionists are also awesome.

I went in to have my lower two impacted wisdom teeth removed. I was very nervous as it was my first time going under but the staff were very calm and reassuring. Dr. Barr was incredibly gentle and quiet which I very much appreciated. The only thing I wish they had done was let me know before they put the anesthetic in although it may have been better that they just went ahead and did it before I could get any more nervous. It was all done in a very smooth and calm manner so I barely noticed to begin with.

The after care kit they give you is fantastic. They even included lip balm, which, trust me you will need.

Now, not that I ever want to have oral surgery again, but if I have to I'd definitely want to see Dr. Barr. Great doctor, great clinic.

Dr Barr was incredible, I had to fix a hole in my jaw after previous surgery (somewhere else) went wrong and Dr Barr was so quick and skilled I was amazed the procedure was over when he said it was all done. This was my second surgery to close this hole and the first attempt was so much more painful and messy so the procedure with Dr Barr was a welcome surprise

I had two horizental impacted wisdom teeth that regular dentist could not extract. I was referred to Dr. Torin Barr for the oral surgery. I was sedated and did not feel any pain after the procedure. The recovery went very well and surprisingly, my jaw did not swell at all. It was such a smooth experience and Dr. Barr is professional, caring and very talented. Highly recommend!

After previously having a bad experience with followup, the office was in touch with me to provide the information I had been promised.

5 Stars just isn't adequate to describe the superior service Dr. Chang and his staff provided to my family. If there was a Super 10 STAR rating I would have selected that instead, As a parent of a teenager about to go in for oral surgery you can imagine how important it is that you trust your doctor. After all, my son was going under anesthesia and that can be scary and sometimes fatal. You want a seasoned doctor with years and hours of experience in his trade. What made me feel comfortable with Dr. Chang is not only his background and academic excellence but more his personality and his ability to relate to the patient at their level and talk to them like a friend vs.and intimidating doctor. My 14 year old son simply dug Dr. Chang. Knowing a little bit about my sons interest in sports and surfing Dr. Chang was able to make him feel at ease during the anesthesia procedure and fully explained to him what he was going to be doing and how he would feel coming out of the surgery. He used teen slang in addressing and asking questions with my son which made the procedure so much easier as their was no anxiety. As for me waiting in the lobby the staff kept me updated and then sent me in as soon as my son was in recovery. My son was still sedated but made us all laugh when he said, "Dr. Chang is so cool. He reminds me of Godzilla" I like him! All in all a great experience. Our follow up appointment was just as comical. If you are looking for an outstanding Oral Surgeon who gets kids, teens and parents then you need Dr. Andrew Chang. He's an expert, a professional and a Super Cool Dude! I will continue to speak highly of him and refer him as the best in class.
