These foot powered kayaks are a game changer. The owner was really friendly, accommodating, and gave us all sorts of guidance on currents, winds and landmarks!

It was my first time by myself for rowing a kayak. The woman who attended to me was the sweetest person. I took the kayak for 1 hour, it costs me about $60 with taxes.
Would recommend check the weather, wind & wave conditions before making appointment.
Also I was trying to go from one shore to another, but unfortunately the grass grew quite thick in the middle (mid April) so didn't succeeded much in going through it. Something to bear in mind.

Had an amazing kayak with my girlfriend at West Coast Outdoor Adventure! Great Kayaks, very good price, and amazing service. The friendly staff made sure we had everything we needed and gave us a great tour of the area around Sooke. Saw lots of wildlife as well as a few types of starfish which was an added bonus! Highly recommend this place for your next adventure!

Couldn't be happier that we chose to go to to Sooke all the way from Greater Victoria by public bus just to rent a kayak. West Coast Outdoor Adventure are open during winter season! After renting a kayak we decided to rent bikes in the afternoon as well. Great customer service! Both the staff member and the owner himself were extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and very warm people in general. Kayak and bikes were in perfect condition. Very well priced as well! Will use their services again whenever I am back in the area. Had an amazing experience. Strongly recommend! Best of luck in the future guys!
