West Coast Property Management

Following a lien that we had to place on one of "Team Sello" aka West Coast Property Management's buildings, as a result of a breech of contract, we sued them in Provincial court. We are pleased to announce that we won our lawsuit and they settled out of court. Fellow contractors and tradesman, be forewarned that this company is ready to manipulate and deceive to relieve themselves of their financial obligations. Our legal system is designed to deliver justice and protect those who are the subject of deception and dishonesty. After all, contrary to what Team Sello maintained, they did pay us as they are not above Canadian law.

Having Ken Colosie as our strata agent has been a nightmare. I contacted him repeatedly regarding an issue half a year ago, he said he'd put it on the agenda for the next council meeting. After two to three months of not hearing back, I emailed him for him to tell me he forgot to bring it up at the council meeting. Then he demanded I summarize everything in another email even though everything was already explained clearly months ago and I was under the impression he had no more questions. I told him he should've made notes since I already explained everything. He told me he didn't take notes and it's my responsibility to summarize everything again? I took the time to summarize everything in another email, then another two to three months of nothing from Ken.

At this point it's already May, the issue has dragged on for half a year, I email him for an update and he tells me the council refused to remove the fines and asked if I wanted a hearing. I email back asking when this decision came down and why I wasn't notified about it. There has been no phone calls, no emails, nothing from him regarding the council's decision in the past few months. Ken knows I'd been requesting a decision and hearing over this since Nov/Dec of last year.

I just got a letter from West Coast saying a lien on my strata lot will be registered on May 19th and they will notify my mortgage lender to proceed with legal action, because of Ken Colosie's inaction and being non responsive for the past 5-6 months, even though he's agreed ever since last year, to set up a council hearing, if the council decides to not remove the fines.

Now Ken Colosie can't even been reached, no one's picking up calls, he's not replying to emails or voicemails. This is beyond ridiculous. I will be taking legal action against West Coast Property Management. There needs to be accountability for things like these and this is definitely not the attitude or work ethic any property manager should have.

I have had an amazing experience working with Bal S and Laura on my latest listing in one of the Strata properties they manage. They have been quick, clear and direct when responding to any questions I've asked regarding the building or minutes. It has been a pleasure.

Sonny Shergill handled my previous property that I recently moved out of. He was friendly, receptive, and extremely easy to get ahold of. More than anything I appreciated his prompt responses and the fact that he was empathetic. We had several issues with our building and Sonny went above and beyond. My unit also flooded and Sonny didn't hesitate to offer assistance and advice - that personal touch isn't common in the industry and was truly appreciated. Thanks for everything!

If you are not on council, have conflict with your council, or are bullied by council, this is not the property management company you should vote for. They only work for, stand up, and ultimately support council regardless how wrong the council is, how unfair, how double standard, and how non-transparent the resolution is.

I can't say enough good things about west coast and our property manager Sonny Shergill. We were with a bunch of different property management companies that came out strong and dropped the ball horribly. Sonny was great came in resolved all the small issues off the bat and started tackling the big problems. He guided council well and saved the building money. I highly recommend West Coast.

I can’t believe this is really happening in our SGM meeting, just happened today Dec 2nd, 2021 at 6pm. All owners were banned to talk and vote for new councils! Is this legal in BC Canada? Throughout the whole meeting, our Strata Manager Bal from West Coast spoke on behalf of the Fence Contractor that is owed by his wife and informed all owners that we just lost our fence deposit of 50K+. Huge confusion on his role speaking as a Strata Manager or actually a contractor? I feel I got bullied from this meeting and it is so unfair that as an strata owner why I was treated this way. It is totally disrespectful and shockingly unprofessional!

Patrick Lau is very attentive, friendly and yet still very Professional. Very easy to reach and responsive to address concerns.

West Coast Property Management is a greedy company, they pick up money from your account without being authorized. When you ask them a question, they don't reply.

Had some questions regarding a renovation to my townhome. Bal Sohal at West Coast was very quick in responding to my questions and did a great job in obtaining the appropriate strata approvals. It was great dealing with Bal

We have been racially discriminated and harassed by our strata council, with no assistance from the property management company. We have been targeted over false violations and we have wrote several emails that were not acknowledged. We've been left with "We act under council's directions". We have been stalked and harassed and as homeowners we were left to feel like we had no rights. We had to end up making a police complaint against the council for our protection. Quite disappointed!

West Coast Property Management recently took over management at a building where we manage a individual unit. Big improvement - Very prompt and professional communication from Sonny, a Strata Agent At West Coast Property Management.

Really poor management and lack of professionalism. In the letter responding to our concerns, no strong evidence was provided. During the zoom meeting, didn’t even allow home owner to speak up. Very disappointed and is seeking legal advice to address the issue properly.

The staff at West Coast Property Management responded to my question in a timely manner even though my contact manager was on vacation. You can tell team work is strong at West Coast. They provided great service.

This is the worst management company I have ever seen. We are told to pay $120,000 for the fence for all 19 units in the complex. This amount is ridiculous. My unit only has 4 pieces of fence and we were asked to pay over $6000. This management has also passed the motion for fence replacement without the owner's consent. We have recently asked for the supporting documents for the fence replacement fee, but they have deliberately delayed their response for three weeks. Furthermore, they want to charge us for the requested document even though we have the rights to review all documents before proceeding fully.

Daren Selo has been assisting me and I can't express enough how great it is to receive fast and professional assistance the way he has. Thank you Daren!

Our key fob has not been working for a week now and many of us who live here have contacted by email and also phone. Tools for work are locked up in the storage as well as the underground parkade has been very inconvenient for all the individuals that live here.

Updated Review for September 2020: I had to leave another review for West Coast Property Management, specifically Bal Sohal. Recently, I have had to reach out to Bal on numerous occasions due to an ongoing issue and he has always been extremely responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Throughout our many email exchanges, Bal has always responded promptly and has gone above and beyond to resolve issues. I would highly recommend Bal Sohal to anyone who is looking for an excellent strata property manager.

West Coast Property Management deserves 10 stars. In just two months, they have addressed a number of issues that the previous two management companies had failed to address. They always reply to emails in a timely manner and address issues and concerns quickly. Coming from a building that has been so poorly managed, I'm VERY grateful for Daren and his team.

Bal Sohal is so responsible and helpful. He answered all my emails quickly and solved things I asked for like repairing my neighbor's fence. I am deeply appreciate his hard work. Thank you Bal.
