This clinic is a waste of time, after sitting for well over a hour the dr tells my spouse he can fill out her forms and needs use to bring her medical records into him, it seems impossible to get anything done these days and if he did his evaluation what he is being paid for things could easily be achieved.go elsewhere people dont waste time here

The young doctor is very unprofessional, always in a hurry to leave early. He was 15-20min late seeing me and then rushed me thru in 5min, i had 3 things i wanted to address, he told me he wasn't sure if he had time, this was just before 12: 00pm, there was nobody else left in the waiting room and they are supposed to be open until 3: 00pm.lol. The receptionist called me at 1: 22 and left a message to call the clinic, i called back at 1: 26 and got the message saying they are closed, again supposed to be open until 3pm. I tried calling in for 3 days and either got message saying "this customer can't be reached" or that they were closed. I went into the clinic to see why they called and was told i need to book an appointment.lol.after leaving the clinic, the Dr.then called me and gave results over the phone, which to my understanding is not allowed at all. I am now going to a different clinic and would not recomend this one to anybody.

During Covid my anxiety increased and made it difficult for me to be out in public alone. A lot of the clinics in west Kelowna wouldn’t give out prescriptions over the phone but dr. Gusstavson Always made sure that i could get my medication without stressing myself out. I’ve never been inside the clinic itself, but when ever I’ve called I’ve always been greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful woman, and dr Gusstavson is always very helpful and kind.

The younger looking doctor came in the room, immediately got the feeling like he didn’t want to be there but had to be there type of attitude, he didn’t let me explain to him my 2 reasons of why I was there, he kept cutting me off. My anxiety started to kick in so it took me while to answer the question he was asking me he rolled his eyes. So basically he told me I don’t know what is wrong with you and sent me home without any answers. He was very rude very unprofessional just seem like he just wanted to be in and out go to the next person. Do not recommend especially if you are an anxious person.

I have recently moved to West Kelowna and have found this clinic to be amazing! The service was prompt and professional surprised by the service as I know how busy doctors are. Thank you Doctor Gustavsson!

I've been going to West Kelowna Walk In since 2015. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Gustavsson is always optimistic and quite funny. My appointments are thorough and Dr. Gustavsson gets the ball rolling when needed or requested. The office is also very clean. I will continue to see Dr. Gustavsson for all my medical needs.

Good clinic for emergency care (immediate) attention. Efficient quick consultation& treatment. It's been very valuable for my family in medical care situations where going to the Kelowna hospital could be substituted.

Seriously unimpressed. Brought my 14 month old daughter in because she had goop in her eye & the young doctor brushed it off as teething. Turned out to be pink eye. He barely took a look at her before dismissing us.

I have been a patient for 6 years. Patience is required to contact them by phone earlier in the day. Once you get through it all good, staff have been unfailing efficient and polite.

Best Walk In Clinic I ever experienced since living in Canada. Dr Gustavsson and his team Jessica and Courtney (hope I’ve got the names right) are just amazing. Always friendly and welcoming. They really take good care care of you.

This place is a joke. Makes you wait 5 hours for a 30 second walk in appointment. Because gustavson is a hack of a doctor who doesn't want to do his job. I am never going back to this clinic ever again. It's a shame westbank doesn't have a real clinic anymore

I’ve been a client at WK Medical for 15 yrs. Really appreciate the quick and no nonsense approach. Weather it’s a phone consult or in person visit, I’m always treated like a valued client. Every visit is the right amount “how are you” and then full focus on the issue at hand, followed by counselling on related issues to watch for and how to best address them.
Prescription renewal is a breeze. Front desk and office staff are friendly, on point, courteous and professional every time.

Lets start this. Dr Gustavsson is such a good guy. Well i must have meet him before his coffee break. He walks i to room nicely ask me why im there. He cuts me off. Then ask why im there.i said chest and cantbreath between coughing. Ask who my Dr was so i told him and he reply was well that says it all you will never see them any time soon. So to the Dr who doesnt like towork at a walk in move on maybe go be a veteran. Seek help Doc G

Dr G. Has been my family Dr since I moved here 12 years ago. Both office staff and Dr are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they are doing. Dr G is a no nonsense type of Dr and is very thorough and quick. Dr G is managing me for 3 serious illness. His professional style has literally saved my life in getting me referred to a cardiologist where I was given a quad heart bypass. I have stayed with Dr G. He tells it like it is and doesn't sugar coat things.

For walk - in: if you go earlier in the morning, they're fast and efficient. Starts getting hectic but the girl at the front end is wonderful. And Dr. Gusstavson was quick, got your symptoms and was able to recommend back up advice in case treatment was not effective.

We have been going to this clinic to see Dr. E. Gustavsson for many years. We have always received very good service. The wait times, without an appointment have been reasonable. Appointments are always prompt. We will continue to go to see Dr. Gustavsson Evan though we have moved to E. Kelowna

What others have said about doctor Sheifke are correct. The most unprofessional doctor I’ve ever seen. THE CLINIC HAS BEEN CLOSED DOWN. No longer operating. As for the doctor, probably left the province. We can hope anyways.

I was seen briefly by a doctor who appeared very rushed and disinterested. Unfortunately his assessment was not thorough in my opinion. I am now day 5 in hospital. I will never attend that clinic again.

I have been seeing Dr. Gustavsson for the past 16 years and he has been one of the most thorough Doctors I have ever had. I have several health issues and he directs me to the proper specialists when needed. I am very thankful to have him as my family doctor. His clinic staff share similar values and are very helpful with any issue. In these times when people are complaining a out not having a doctor, I feel blessed to have one that cares about me. Thank you so much.

If I could give zero starts that would be generous! I walked in with my sick 1 yr old to see a doctor to get anti biotics because he caught the same ear infection/ cold his older brother had ear infection was due to cold but they told me they won’t see him without a negative Covid test. You guys are an absolute joke! So I’ll just let my 1 yr old suffer because you bunch of heartless people refuse to see him. Thanks for the help…. Thought you were open as a walk in to help my sick kid guess not!

To add we have all tested negative but I’m not going to put my baby threw that my 3 yr old is traumatized from his test. His older brother went to urgent care 3 days before and has a cold and an infection. NOT COVID

Dr. E Gustavsson has been my doctor for 15 years. The service that I have received is excellent and he has always properly informed me about my health and care.

I am going to get everyone together who posted a one star and we are going to file a class action lawsuit against this doctor (s). He is completely incompetent and doesn't care about anybody. NEVER NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS CLINIC. THEY SHOULD CLOSE UP AND GO WORK AT WALMART ACROSS THE STREET!

I grew up in westbank. I’ve had some unfortunate run ins with Dr Gusstovson in my life time. I saw Dr Shipke and Dr Francis recently and will absolutely be recommending this clinic to friends and family! They were both so wonderful with helping me through a shoulder injury. I’ll be making the journey from Kelowna to see them again and again!

I have dealt with Dr Gustavson a few times, I have also dealt with Dr Francis.

Dr Francis is a class act seen him 3 or so times over the last 6 months for my back pain. He got me a mri, and 2 specialist referrals almost immediately.

The receptionist was very nice, but seeing the doctor was the worst experience I have ever had, Dr Schifke was super unprofessional and very unpleasant. He did not address what I went into the office for, instead gave me inaccurate advise on something completely different. He did not listen to what I was trying to tell him, and to say the least I left this place in tears. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, DO NOT GO HERE. This was an absolutely horrible experience.

Courtney at the front desk is professional, efficient and kind. Drs are very helpful. Never a long wait!

Read reviews here first but needed to see someone. The doctor literally walked out and into another room before I was finished talking about why I was there. I really needed someone to listen. Unless you need a prescription refill don’t bother here.

I went to the walk in clinic with my daughter but they refused to see her as she had a fever (due to her ear infection) which is a covid symptom. They said I need to call and arrange for a covid test and if it comes back negative then they will let the doctor see her. I was very upset as on the website they say you can come in for fever, cold and flu symptoms but they refused to see her. She was just over a year old. Still can’t believe they turned us away.

I had an emergency situation and I was able to see Dr. Brett Schifke. He was absolutely fantastic. He listened to what I was saying, made very good recommendations and I genuinely felt heard, understood and very much supported with my medical situation. He appropriately gave me advice and my situation has quickly taken a turn for the best. He was honest, down to earth and his chosen language made him super relatable. I felt like I was talking to an actual human, not just a prescription writer. Oh, and I live an hour and a half away so I had to request phone appointments on two occasions and he called me back both times very promptly. I used to have a mistrust towards medical professionals however, I trust him profoundly.

Thankful for this Walk In Clinic especially during Covid-19, the employees and medical staff continue to work as front line workers during this Covid-19 pandemic under extreme conditions and harsh, workplace restrictions.

Heroes are the ones who are persecuted the most in todays societies. We need more heroes and more front line workers in BC then ever before and we can start by waiving the educational and tuition cost (s) incurred by students learning these medical trades.

Subsidies created easily by our government that actually increase front line workers pay significantly during pandemic times. Pay people what they deserve and watch work ethics excel.

Eliminate student loan debt (free education for medical students), forgiven already for people with disability status in BC can we not as a ’forward-thinking’ Province effectively create a new incentive for our citizens?

The Liberal government can create CERB income in a National Emergency which really has created more financial hardship and debt for her people. So, absolutely tuition cost forgiveness will grow our nation and utilize our people for their full potentials.

Heck, if there is not enough room at our Universities and Colleges to educate the amount of people that would take advatage of free education then open our churches and secondary school gyms to teach us. Let’s work together again, from community to Province-to-Province.

Looking ahead Canada has already said we need to increase jobs in our medical system to compensate for the future. Doctors are saying the medical system the way it is now will crash. We are overworked, underpaid and in-demand a much needed necessary vocation.

Support our doctors and nurses and I thank you heroes for your time and hard work. I pray for solution and for Canada’s future generations. We can change the outcome of our futures for all of us, multi-cultural Canada in 2021.

Let us end this year on a postive note, if we change our thoughts our actions will follow. There is a bright future ahead for Canada. There is hope. Heroes are in! Become one today.

How bad is it when your entire town can hear the name Gustavsson and immediately understand that you're talking about the worst doctor you can possibly interact with.

Great clinic unless you get dr Gustafson then it's about as good as a cave man trying to diagnose you

Called in on Saturday to see a doctor, was told I would have a phone appointment that day and hopefully a doctor would call me. I called back to confirm after she mentioned "hopefully" and was told that yes, if I did not hear back from someone on Saturday they would automatically have me in for a call with a doctor on Sunday. Never received either calls.

Dr Gustafson was really great, he asked what I needed help with & was very direct, knowledgeable & to the point, which I really appreciated. Didn’t argue with me about my own symptoms as many other doctors have in the past.
Gave me his straight opinion & I was in & out of the clinic super quickly with no issues.
The front staff had a kind demeanor as well. Will be back again, very appreciated as I’ve had some nightmare walk-in experiences in Kelowna.

Waiting over an hour to be seen as a walk in for stitches. Nurse who let us into a room asked if it happened at work, husband stated yes, nurse asked if he wanted to fill out the wcb form, husband stated thats ok.

Doctor comes in after over an hour wait, doesnt look at my husband, has his back to him reading his paper, says to my husband "it states it did not happen at work" husband said no it did. Doctor then says you need a wcb form filled out, husband says they offered i declined, Doctor responded its required by law. I ask will you be back right after, Doctor walk out, saying i dunno. Not even looking at my husband.

Not great bedside manor.

Prob the worst experience ever. The young doctor rushed me so fast. I had my ears cleaned and they tugged on my ears that it hurt. And rushed me so quickly through my ear cleaning that I felt like cattle. It was awful. I was left with the bib still on with water all over. Which I took off myself, because the doctor had already left the room before I could ask anything else. The whole procedure took under 5 minutes. The whole experience felt pretty inhumane. And the pressure of the water hurt and they didn't seem to care? I'll never ever go back there. I wish I could complain directly to the clinic.

Dr. Schifke.

I have never met a doctor so thorough. He is a better safe than sorry doctor. I definitely appreciate his efforts into always trying to get down to the root cause of things. He is very knowledgeable and down to earth. Overall a great Dr. Definitely try to see him if you can.

Took my son there in summer and Dr Gustafson walked in with board shorts and flip flops. Whatever works for him, HOWEVER, he took off his flip flops and examined my son in his bare feet! WTF
The office staff were lovely, not sure how they tolerate working for him.

I went to this clinic despite its negative reviews and left agreeing with all of them. When I walked in the door the doctors were in the middle of bragging about how many patients they had seen that day (which in itself wasn't an issue). However, once it was my turn I saw a doctor who overall was very rude. He came in the door and didn't introduce himself to me, then pronounced my name wrong and continued to even though I corrected him twice. He spoke over me while I tried to explain what was going on, then proceeded to disregard my concern and tell me I was fine. I was in and out under 2 minutes at most, however I left feeling discouraged and now wondering if I should trust this doctors opinion or not. I would not recommend going to this clinic, listen to the majority of the reviews.

Worst walk in clinic I have ever been to. The doctor i seen was so rude and in such a hurry to get me out I spent a total of 60 seconds with the doctor before I was sent out the door. I spent more time waiting in the room for the doctor to come see me then I did with the actual doctor. I do not reccomend this walk in to anyone if you want to get to the root of the problem go anywhere else but here. The doctor I seen was a blonde older guy with glasses. He didn't even introduce himself so I'm not even sure what his name is. I will be going to a different walk in tomorrow what a waste of time and gas that was.

We show up at 3: 14 pm on Sunday. The online hours say they’re open until 5 pm.
There’s a note on the door that says due to the high volume of people today, they have closed early. If your hours are until 5pm, you should stay open until 5pm. There wasn’t even people inside at this time. It’s not like they just stopped accepting more patients, they were already fully closed. Unacceptable!

I went in as I can hardly breathe for the last 4 days, but I now see why this clinic has no wait times. I sat in the room for 20 minutes, and told Gustavson the extent of why I was at the clinic. He simply listened to on my back in 4 spots and told me to go home. No further investigation, or any other questions. Very disappointed in his performance aswell as many others seem to be aswell

Needed WBC form filled out for my employer and the Dr refused due to not being able to see what I do for work, although I explained the nature of my work in detail and my injury. He wrote referred me to physio next door and said that they would do the WBC form there. Physio then referred me to the clinic by Save On where they have apparently much more intelligent Drs. No problem there having the paperwork done. Don’t waste your time going to this clinic if it can be avoided. There’s no line up for a reason!

Leave yourself your whole day if your sick or injured and need to come to this walk-in.longest wait you will ever encounter. But thank god they have free apples.

Now I know why no waiting list here Doctors are not competent at treatments. Went there cause had a diverticulitis attack which I’ve had before. Dr Wilson didn’t even want give me a prescription but finally did and was only amoxicillin a mild antibiotic. This was not what’s recommended when I looked it up but is treated with two other antibiotics which I’ve had in passed and works well. Spent whole weekend in pain cause of this and will be going to my Doctor which I couldn’t get in too see as was not available at that time. These young doctors seem to think they know better then more experience ones but shows me they need to be more concerned about their patients. I will never go back to this clinic

Awesome staff, clean and large clinic which is great! Different from some small stuffy feeling clinics. DR. Gustavsson and Dr. Schifke are awesome doctors. Insanely knowledgeable and super thorough. (I’ve had them call me to check up after results came in) when other clinics it’s up to me to follow up. Also the fact that they are opened on Sunday’s and ALOT of the holidays are great! Most doctors take the holiday off, you can tell who really looks out for everyone (and not just their own patients) the nicest staff I’ve seen in a medical clinic, and after seeing some of the people they have to deal with, its surprising. 5 stars!

Dr Shiftke
I personally think that Dr Shiftke is a wonderful Gp. I have had nothing but good experiences. The first visit was for my son who had a skin issue, Dr Shiftke was extremely knowledgeable and diagnosed him right away. Shortly after he became my Gp which I feel is the best decision I have made. He has great bedside manner, listens, and is quite thorough when accessing any issue. I currently went into the clinic for a respiratory infection. He diagnosed me with pneumonia. I recieved great advice from him that even my pulmonologist never mentioned.

Never waited longer than 15 minutes here. I've seen Drs Gustafson and Dr Shifke and both were super friendly. When I saw Dr Shifke was taking new family patients I signed up.
He is caring, thorough, gentle and takes his time with me. Calls after rests to have me come in for reviews which is very nice. Front lobby is always clean and front reception very friendly. They must be popular as they sometimes have to close earlier than posted when they reach capacity.

Walked in and was told wait times were 20-25mins. I waited for an hour to see a doctor who didn’t even spend 2 minutes in the room with me. I told him I had a sore throat and could barely talk and swallow my saliva (which is indicative of Strep!). He checked my throat and acknowledged it was swollen. However he saw I had a runny nose and associated my sore throat with a viral cold and nothing more. I’ve had a cold with a sore throat in the past and I’ve had Strep before as well so I know and feel the difference. So the doctor took a swab and said he wouldn’t prescribe me antibiotics until the lab results come back. The other option he offered was if I wanted to know right away, I can take their rapid strep test for $15! Such a money grab!
I went to a different clinic today and the doctor looked at my throat and said I had Strep right off the bat and prescribed me antibiotics.

I didn’t get the name of the doctor but it looks like a lot of patients had the same experience as me at this clinic. Shame on that doctor who tried to make a buck out of my desperation for proper treatment.

My husband cut his finger and required stitches. This clinic was open on a Sunday in which we were very grateful and they were able to stitch his finger up at the clinic. The staff were very accommodating and the Doctor was excellent. Thank you for working on a Sunday and being so helpful.

Read some reviews prior to going and they were mostly negative, but I took the chance because they were the only clinic open on the Sunday and I live out of town. I shouldnt have bothered going in. The waiting room was empty which was a plus, however the doctor literally didn't give me a chance to explain my situation and proceeded to send me off to Rexall across the parking lot for antibiotics I should not have been prescribed. I know this because when I got home, and continued to get more sick, I went to another doctor who heard me out and prescribed me accordingly.fascinating.

I have seen several of this clinic's doctors over the last two years and now have a regular physician here. I've made appointments and found almost zero wait time and dropped in and found the wait times better than most clinics. Judging by other comments, my guess is day time drop-ins are best. The doctors here are both caring and proactive. I would suggest that you prepare for your visit (maybe with questions written out so you don't forget them) as while they are good listeners, they do try to keep the visits brief. I appreciate that this also leads to shorter waits. I would recommend this clinic.

This place seems to have pretty shocking reviews, so I was pleasantly suprised! Staff were nice, the waiting room and doctors room were clean. I waited less than five minutes and had Dr Gustavsson, who was friendly and helpful.

The clinic hours state they are opened until 7: 00pm today. My husband has something stuck in his eye and is in a lot of pain. He went to the clinic at 6: 00pm to find a note on the door that due to high volume of people they would not be taking anymore clients today. I then tried to phone and the call was directed straight to voicemail. I cannot believe that they would simply shut their doors. In this situation, severity of the issue should be addressed. I am sure my husband swollen eye, would be important then some other situations. He is not one to go the clinic in the first place and now he dosent even feel like going back. Poor customer service. Quite disappointed.

Two days in a row.except today closed two hours early. What does a working person do? Seriously need to re think your procedures! Never going back again!

Absolutely TERRIBLE clinic overall. Gustavsen being the worst out of all the doctors, with not a single doctor there being good AT ALL. I was rushed through my analysis, the doctor saw me for probably 30 seconds maximum. I have strep as well as a flu, and he put me on amoxicillin only twice a day. When I picked up my meds, even the pharmasist told me to take 3 amoxicillin. That same night, I had a fever of 40c, and had to go to the hospital. The doctor there even said that my dosage was completely wrong and that I should be taking 3 a day at least. The only reason I went to this clinic was because it was Sunday, and Towne Centre Medical was closed. I recommend EVERYONE to go to this clinic and see Dr. Bystrom. He's empathetic, and takes his time to really figure out the issue and properly treat you. Neither me NOR my family has EVER had a good experience with this West Kelowna Walk In and Family. When I was about 9 years old, I had another extremely high fever and my dad carried me in his arms up to the door of this so called clinic, with only a minute until closing. Dr. Gustavsen literally locked the door right in front of him and told him to go to emergency. Couldn't even take an extra minute or 2 to give me something for the pain or anything. This clinic should be shut down, and the licenses of these doctors ESPECIALLY the heartless, and unempathetic monster Gustavsen should be revoked. Absolute joke of a clinic. NEVER go here.
