So far we like this product. Much easier to use than lifting the kayaks on the roof of the 4 Runner. My husband is able to load them alone but I do require assistance.
A clipper mac 15 built just for me. Took about 2 weeks. I couldnt be happier. Saving and planning for a nice lightweight canoe or kayak next. I was led immediatly to the storage area and he was pulling boats out faster than i could look at them. Eager to hook me up. Repairs available should i damage my boat which is not an option ive had with other brands names. My boat is flawless and strangers tell me its nice. Thank you. Recommeded!
We needed a different rack system to haul two kayaks and the staff were amazing. We’d originally purchased Yakima jaylow holders but needed something with more features. Staff made the transition to a showdown system very easy.
Great purchasing experience, one item in my order was missing small parts, they contacted the manufacturer and will have them ship it out. The item costs only $5, so this level of service for a $5 item is impressive.
Mary the owner, and her team are the greatest. Very accommodating and professional. They helped me with an issue and I would put them at 5 star service and professionalism.
We ordered a kayak carrier online from Vancouver Island. The ordering process was seamless and we received the order within 2 days! Our expectations were fully exceeded by the service and the product is exactly what we were looking for! Thank you so very much.
I bought an Aquaglide inflatable kayak from Western. It developed a tiny air leak after about 10 uses, about a year after purchase. Looked to me like a small manufacturing glitch in a seam. Western was very responsive when I called about it, forwarded the info to Aquaglide and the company sent me a replacement kayak. Stellar performance from both Western Canoeing and Aquaglide.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff with an excellent inventory of kayaks. Something to fit every budget and lifestyle. If they don't have it, it's probably not worth having!
I wanted a kayak I could easily take wherever I wanted to go. I can’t put one on a roof rack so I looked into inflatables and after lots of research bought the Advanced Elements kayak. I absolutely love it! It has aluminum supports so I get the maneuverability of a rigid boat but folds down into a manageable size that fits in the trunk of my car. It takes me 5 minutes to set up, and feels very stable out on the water. Everything is labeled so set up is simple. I love my boat and look forward to exploring my beautiful province. I had a couple questions when I was looking into the purchase and the customer service is phenomenal! I heard back within an hour. I highly recommend Western Canoe Kayak, and definitely recommend the Advanced Frame Kayak.
They have a lot of things that float. The staff were attentive enough and there to answer questions but weren't overtly pushy and left us to browse some by ourselves. We are trying to figure out how to go fishing without taking on a second mortgage and that can be done solo or with two people and how do you get the boat to water, roof racks? Trailer, inflatables (the can pack in your trunk). They have new tech too, electric motors like outboard so with more power than the old school trolling motors. Or should we go for a canoe? A sit-upon fishing kayak with pedal propulsion or electric? Can it be a multi-tasking tool? Fishing, exploring, taking family out for a picnic. Like I said at the opening the have a lot of things that float.
Why 4 stars only? The display room is packed to distraction maybe more space, or less distraction (less inventory on display) and I missed the push. We've been talking about this for a few years and get stuck because we could manage with 2 or three boating options but we don't have the money or the space. Someone who fishes and loves to spend time on the water might have been able to share their approach and help us to cut down the list to choose from. I like the new (to them) Takacat, it might work the inflatable seat put my friend off.guess I might have to go back and shop some more
They seem like they are knowledgeable and they have lots of things to look at and buy. Give them a try, you might find a way to get on the water.
What An amazing place! Great selection and the associate Sarah was a pleasure to deal with. She was very informative, pleasant and an overall joy to deal with. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. I will be a return customer for sure
Wonderful customer service, very knowledgeable and helpful with my order. Recommended better paddles that suited my kayak for a lower price. Very honest and helpful, thank you Margaret! I definitely recommend this place, the order process was really quick also.
We bought a clipper Mackenzie 2 years ago. This boat has changed our life! We have taken our children on so many great ocean adventures that would not have been possible without the quality and security of this boat. Would highly recommend without any reservation- if you are thinking of getting one…. Just do it! Thank you Western Canoe/Clipper!
An excellent place to go for paddling sports. I walked in having done a lot of research and had narrowed my choice down to a few models. They made sure to call down the staff member with the most knowledge of inflatable kayaks and Alex walked me through the pros and cons of each. They have a large warehouse so I was able to sit in the models and carry them to see how they felt. He was never pushy and didn't just try to sell me the most expensive gear. He gave me options and recommendations and let me choose. I was even ready to spend the extra money on some accessories, and he gave me tips to try first to see if I really needed them. I have been back several times and have had a positive experience every time.
Even though I would have to get rid of one of my boats to make room for a new one, it's always nice to go in and check out the new stuff and have a visit. Always friendly, knowledgeable staff. Bought our first Tripper 25+ years ago.
Needed some adhesive for attaching something to my inflatable boat. Jesse and Ryan went above and beyond to help me find the right one I needed that wouldn’t burn through the material. They didn’t have to research and double check but they did. Great customer service. Definitely recommend coming here for ANY of your watercraft needs.
Excellent service and very helpful friendly staff. And a beautiful canoe. It. We had some issues with our first canoe but they made me a new one. Resolved! My only gripe would be with one of the mangers Lynne. Not very friendly and rude. A Stressful business i suppose? A couple of the employees agreed she has a bad attitude.
Great personal service in choosing the perfect kayaks for myself and husband including doorside delivery! Staff clearly experienced and very knowledgeable. Also excellent follow up assistance by email in finding the ideal kayak seaside storage rack and transport cart for a rocky shoreline. The volume of stock available at the Abbotsford warehouse really exceptional as is the wide variety on their online site. Absolutely 5 star experience.
Bought a fiberglass canoe last week. Fiberglass was sold without being cured and boat is very soft (dent in hull from straps, just the pull down type) was told how to possibly remove and good luck when called in. No support or offer to fix. Poor customer service
So many fun toys in shop! Add ons galore for you floating needs! Staff was exceptional and entertaining. Can't wait to get our new kayaks on the water. Thanks staff at western!
We are long time customers, purchasing kayak wheels, Clipper Canoe, Current Design kayak, many many specialty water sport items. When our daughter purchased elsewhere a NDK kayak, there were no Seals brand or any available fitted skirts. Yes, she could use an off the shelf one, but due to the cockpit shape it wasn't ideal. Talking with Laura at WCK, no problem, a special custom order. Laura was able to work with Seals and waive a huge custom order fee to be included with WCK order and then made arrangements for delivery to a remote location. Laura went above and beyond for our order. WCK does care and delivers exceptional customer service.
Luis was great. Very knowledgable and patient with my grandson. Spent a great deal of time with us. I will definitely be going back to this place. Awesome service by Luis. THANK YOU!
Support local for above & beyond customer service. Laura at Western Canoeing & Kayaking walked me through the purchase of my first kayak in 2015, a Tarpon Ultralite. This week, the shop replaced the rudder cable, cleaned some mysterious black gunk for no extra charge, and recommended what looks like the perfect second (zippier) kayak for longer distances and maybe the occasional ocean foray.
