Western financial group at Hwy 33 in Kelowna is great! I get anxiety about having to get home insurance & I had called western financial about it & the first thing I heard when they called me back was an exuberant “Hey Steve it’s Kyle Giesbrecht calling”. What a positive, outgoing, friendly guy to have help the task of doing a home insurance application! He was very knowledgeable, was quick to help me when I had questions, & made the whole process significantly easier. I would recommend Kyle to absolutely anyone who needs home insurance.

I’ve gone to Western Financial for several years now. Most recently I was assisted by Rachel J, she was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Insurance isn’t a fun thing to pay for lol but Rachel made the whole process seem less.

An enormous 'Thank you" to Dawn who worked her magic and got my home insurance renewal down from $1215 to $725, a pre-pandemic level. What a difference! I usually just pay the amount quoted, but this time, I thought I'll just go in and see if they can do better. And they certainly did. Two thumbs up!

Shannon K of the lakeshore Rd Kelowna branch found us WAY better coverage for the same price we'd already been paying. With deductible costs that were actually reasonable! Eg: Over-land flood damage. (New provider's deductible) 1000.00 (OLD provider's deductible.) 10,000.00! Eg: Sewer back-up and water escape type claims. (New provider's deductible) 1000.00 (OLD provider's deductible) 5000.00! That's a huge potential savings if anything should ever happen (God forbid!) If it wasn't for Shannon we would never have even known. Thankfully there are people like her out there looking after us. "Can't thank you enough Shannon. " "Keep up the good work! "

Been a customer here for three years. We defaulted into the insurance policy when we bought our house. The price for insurance went from 1000 dollars a year to 4000 in the span of 3 years. Their policies don't have good coverage either, our house is worth much more than they insured it for. Waste of time to shop here for a quote, they have a horrible attitude on the phone and even worse customer service if you go to a branch. Please go anywhere else for you home insurance needs.

Very bad experience here. I had a quote from another insurance provider and asked the broker at WFG to find me an identical quote with the same coverage and deductibles to see if there was a cheaper option for my home insurance. The broker found a cheaper option but it did not provide the same coverage and the broker did not tell me that. I relied on his expertise and a month after paying for a year of house insurance I was told that the underwriter had decided that I needed further work done before they would insure my wood stove and in the mean time any loss caused by the wood stove would not be insured. The broker never communicated to me that the stove was a separate issue pending further review. This surprise cost and lack of coverage down the line was unacceptable.

The team leader apologised to me that I didn't understand my coverage, and did not at all appreciate that it was not my lack of understanding so much as her employees lack of communication to me.

I contacted the insurance provider that I got my original quote from and asked them if they would have the same kind of issue with the wood stove and they said as long as I have an approved inspection report (which I do) - that's all they need.

WFG would do nothing to remedy the situation and told me if I didn't like their stance, to cancel my insurance. Which I have now done.

Worst customer service.

We’ve been coming to this particular western financial for years. For our snowmobiles, dirt bikes, truck/trailer, everything. The service here is outstanding. We actually just went and insured our bikes and renewed our truck insurance. We had the pleasure of being helped by a girl named Jenny (whose goal is to get into farm insurance!), and I only mention her name because my goodness, what an amazing young lady with outstanding people skills. We had so many good laughs with her, she was incredibly personable and made us feel so welcome. The service we’ve always received from western financial has never been short of great, but Jenny sent it over the top. Thank you guys.
