Very good dentist. I went here because it was close to my home and found the best dentist I've had in my life.

Dr. Liu is a fantastic dentist, i agree with another comment here- almost makes me WANT to go lol. Very straight forward diagnoses, he is meticulous in his work and prides himself on that. He will sometimes even cut his own costs for your benefit if he feels the treatment is necessary so dont even try that "all about his pocketbook" BS. All the staff here are excellent and make me feel comfortable and safe. Ive had a variety of procedures done here and am so thankful i took a chance on another dentist after others in Nanaimo have given me a run for my money and/or have done shoddy work that Dr. Liu has then had to fix later. I have full confidence whenever ive gone in for a root canal, filling, cleaning, wisdom tooth removal etc. Thanks everyone at Westhill Dental! <3

I have been with Fan for over 15 years I think. Any reviews here saying he gives bad advice about treatment, and only thinks about his pocket book are all completely wrong. He will advocate more and better treatment than the next guy most often; he is more meticulous than many. Also he gives me half off sometimes on many thousand dollar jobs, and, although I may be the only one, he gives me free Prevident toothpaste whenever I need, which is an excellent product by the way. If he was rude to you, you probably deserved it, just saying. Really nice guy, if you are reasonable yourself.

Always a pleasure. Dr Liu and staff are the most accommodating friendly people I have ever dealt with in a dental office. Makes one almost want to go.

I always feel like I truly matter every time I step into here. Dr. Liu takes his time to make sure each procedure is done to the highest precision, allowing me to feel safe in his hands. In general, all the employees are really friendly and always go the extra mile to make sure my visits are as enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend Westhill Dental.

We walked in and booked an appointment for two weeks later, which is the earliest. Front staff said that the case is a kind of emergency. However, on the day of the appointment, the dentist Liu insulted the patient. His diagnosing is really rough. He knocked the teeth really hard. In the end, he said the patients has serious gum disease, but he will not take in the case. He said he wasn’t taking any new patient, and this patient has mental issue. (when he said this to the patient, he pointed his finger to his head). This dentist Liu can’t even be a decent person, not to mention being a doctor.

Don't go here if you're low income, you will be shamed for not being able to afford "the best treatment". I got a lecture from the dentist about how he came to Canada with $60 in his pocket, so surely I could afford $5000 of crowns that my insurance doesn't cover, even though I am disabled and living off poverty income. When I said I couldn't afford the crowns and just wanted fillings, he told me he didn't need new patients. The experience made me break down in tears, I've never been made to feel so awful at a dentist's office. The receptionists were nice, but I honestly can't imagine allowing someone to work on me who shames people like this. Don't become a doctor if you hate people and cannot be kind to them or understand that not everyone has as much money as you. I have reported the dentist for his lack of empathy and unprofessionalism to the cdsbc.

Rudest customer service I’ve experienced yet. I understand the rush of the holidays but unfair that your staff felt the need to hang up on me mid-call today while I was inquiring about an appointment. Disappointed that this happened and will not be recommending anyone here.

All have to say is that he is one of the most incompetent, impolite, misleading and worst Dr. He doesn't have ethics of a Dr. The receptionist was very rude. I wouldn't recommend west hills dental.worst experience ever

Had a new crown put on, colour matched side partial instead of front teeth & had black streak on front side & black spot on front. Asked Dr. Liu to redo it, was told to go find another dentist in so many words. I will never recommend him again to anyone.

This is not my real name but am a long time patient of Dr. Lui and find him to be an excellent dentist, knowledgeable, precise and very fair with his clients. I do not judge people based on their cultural practices handed down over many generations. Dr. Lui is a brilliant man and although we are always friendly, I believe he may not suffer fools lightly. This I have found is true of many doctors and medical professionals. They have other patients to worry about and in their honor can be abrupt with fools.
