Westland Insurance

Long story short. My wife came in to cancel our insurance and handed in plates. Then our daughter obtained ownership of vehicle, given new plates.

ICBC continues to charge me months later for insurance Westland Insurance Parksville never cancelled. To cancel, Westland states we had to file a police report about the misplaced plates. Westland Insurance then told us we may not get a refund on insurance paid for a vehicle we don't own. Zero accountability from Westland Insurance Parksville as they are the original people to screw up.

Unacceptable. Beware. You may be in for a huge headache. Terrible service.

UPDATE: Spoke with the new branch manager Jennifer. She has zero accountability for her staff and location. When asked who the rep was the day my wife canceled the insurance, she was able to see who it was, but stated there was no point in asking the rep what transpired that day as she wouldn't remember the events 1 month ago. How would Jennifer know that without actually asking the rep? Jennifer stated that "accidents happen", then stated, "this is a mistake that was extremely hard to make". Well, if this mistake was so difficult to make, why did it happen?

I have also come to find out that the staff was questioning my wife's honesty and integrity by asking her if she "was sure" if she truly handed in the plates. My wife drove the car with the plates on it with our daughter down to Westland. They took the plates off, walked in, canceled those plates, transfered ownership to our daughter, got new plates, went outside and put the new plates on. So, yes, she handed our plates to the rep. I also asked if they had interior and or exterior cameras so we could go back and look at the footage. Jennifer the manager didn't know.one last comment. When my wife was advised to make a police report, she was told "do not tell them you are here". What? Why? Why would they want to hide the fact that they are responsible for losing the plates? Too bad, my wife is smarter then that and put in the police report that Westland Insurance told her to file the report just so we can cancel the insurance and that Westland Insurance were the last people to have possession of the plates.

Westland Insurance is the reason we are out $264.00 at Christmas. They owe us $264.00. NOT ICBC like they claim. Yet Westland Insurance state we will NOT get a refund unless ICBC finds our plates that Westland Insurance Parksville lost.

Lana is friendly, efficient and knows her stuff. I was on a timeline and she completed 2 transactions in the time it should take to do one. See you again soon!

I have been insuring my vehicles with Westland Insurance both in Parksville and Victoria for many years. The team here is knowledgeable and friendly. During my last visit in Parksville, Lana took the time to clear up a misunderstanding I had regarding multiple insured drivers per vehicle.

I’ve been renewing my insurance with Westland for the last 11 years. They are always friendly & helpful; Even sponsored our little league baseball team a few years ago. Lana in particular is fantastic.

It seems I am always super busy these days and never make the time to read or write reviews involving poor or a great experience at a business.

I have to make an exception today however as my recent experience renewing coverages with Lana at Westland Insurance on some of my vehicles, etc.was noteworthy.

Lana demonstrated a very high level of experience and professionalism including upcoming changes in the Industry and providing tips on how I could reduce my overall premiums while still meeting my coverage requirements and expectations.

Could not get anyone to answer phone in Ladner. Just moved to Parksville and Stacey Peterson addressed the renewal and my faith in Westland. Phone system should be junked!

I moved to the Parksville area 18 months ago and began to use the Westland Insurance office for all of my insurance needs. Everybody is very helpful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Yesterday was another example. I went in to renew my car insurance and Lana was the agent, the first renewal proposal did not appear to take into account a change I had made some weeks earlier. Lana took the trouble to call ICBC, work with their agent and after about 10 minutes had sorted the issue out. Throughout the transaction Lana explained what she was doing and why. If you live in the Parksville area and are looking for a quality insurance brokerage firm, I would recommend a trip to Westland.
