I have previously had excellent service from the 16th street office who are more facilitating than the downtown office which is closer. My recent experience with Natasha was no exception. I had a fantastic experience talking to the agent, Peggy from Westland Insurance on purchasing travel insurance. She has all the information I enquire about plus more. I would highly recommend her as she has a wealth of knowledge about the product/plan. She will consult with you what is the best scenario if something out of the ordinary might occur such as delays or cancelled flights. Thank you so much Peggy:)

I am not one to usually write reviews but this was the most bizarre and unprofessional encounter I've had with an insurance company. I took out a tenancy insurance policy with Westland and was told it was active and everything was good, nothing else was needed. When I went to then renew my policy and to change the address of the tenancy insurance I was told that none of my premiums were ever received. When asked why no one had simply contacted me to let me know and ask for payments they said "it fell through the cracks" and were now requesting me to back pay on a policy that clearly never existed in the first place (despite them saying they wouldn't cancel a policy without notifying me). When I asked them to provide proof that the policy was active (given that they had never received a single premium from me and I don't know of any insurance company that would pay out on a policy they weren't receiving premiums for) I got no response from the company. Furthermore, I then received the draft of a renewal for tenancy insurance that I never requested. I sent them an email stating this and again received no response from the company.

We all take out insurance policies so that if we're in a situation where we need them, they are available to pay us out. In this case, I have been under the false assumption that I had insurance coverage where I clearly did not. I would recommend going to a different insurance company that isn't going to blatantly lie to you and let things "fall through the cracks". My new tenancy policy is also half the price of the one I received from Westland.

EDIT: in response to the below comment: if you were interested in addressing my concerns you would have responded to one of my previous emails but you didn't.

Called their Vancouver office on 16th Ave to renew my tenant policy & dealt this time with Natasha who provided me with an excellent service, answering all my questions in a quick, professional & friendly manner. I found cheaper quotes elsewhere, but I prefer to have peace of mind knowing I have the right coverage for my needs.
