Arthur was disrespectful all the time, we arrived at 4: 15 pm he was on bad mood asking questions and ids because he finish work at 5 and he didn’t want work anymore. We moved to nesters insurance and they were amazing with us, in 10 mins was done, , if you can choose nesters they are way better than icbc market place, really bad service and very lazy

The ICBC office is absolutely awful. Constantly getting incorrect information of them regarding drivers licenses. Whenever I ask them questions they do not know the answers or give me the wrong answers. This place is completely understaffed and the queue is usually absolutely ridiculous.
Staff is nice but not very knowledgeable

Unfortunately it’s the only ICBC office in the area so we do not have a choice but to go there.

When my partner and I came to buy a car, Lani couldn’t be more helpful. She took us through the process from start to finish, and made it so easy! We’re from the UK so weren’t sure of the Canadian systems and her explanation was faultless. I went in back in July 2022 to change my gender markers on my drivers license, the entire time I was misgendered, misinformed, and overlooked.

After 2 hours of sitting around they told me I needed to go back to Ontario (I was born in Ontario, live in BC) to change my birth certificate before my service card and BCDL gender marker can be changed.
It’s now February 2023 and I’m learning after struggling for the last 9 months all of this is incorrect.
1. Birth certificate changes across the country are done online - thank you for making me fly home to Ontario to find this out at the desk of service Ontario.
2. As of January 14,2022 bc born and bc non born residence can change their gender markers on BCID, BCDL, and service cards with or without changing their birth certificate first.
3. The form you’re looking for to change you marker without changing you birth certificate is called (HLTH509a)
4. I’ve been waiting since October for a new birth certificate, I call once a week. I could’ve avoided all of this and a round trip flight if you took the time to help me educate myself, instead of giving me the easiest answer of misinformation.
5. When non-binary and trans people come in looking to change their gender marker they most likely don’t want to be referred to the honorific that matches the marker they’re trying to change? !
(For example (M) to (F) maybe don’t call them sir? !)

Take that pride flag off your door until you’re actually ready, educated, and empathetic enough to serve your F’ing community.

This is ridiculous, I’m so annoyed I trusted the help from the associates at that desk as it’s costed me so much stress and time.

Recently had to add a vehicle to a fleet insurance policy. We were lucky enough to wind up at Christa's desk. She had amazing patience as she navigated the quagmire of the ICBC computer "System" to get the policy in place. Two hours later everyone was "done" - to her credit, Christa still had a smile on her face as she got us our plates and on our way. THANK you Westland and specifically, Thanks Christa!

I went in to swap my international license to a Canadian one, and I was assisted by Vivien. She was incredibly helpful and friendly - and I was able to get everything sorted no problem. I had mentioned that I was new to Canada, and Whistler, and Vivien offered some really helpful tips, she really went the extra mile with assisting me.

Despite the wait time before entering (mostly due to covid) my experience with Westland Insurance was nothing but enjoyable. The person who helped me, Vivien, was very nice and efficient. I was able to get my license very quickly and I would recommend Westland Insurance for anyone in Whistler looking for the services they provide. Excellent experience overall!

I've now called twice regarding business insurance. No one was available to talk to me either time. I left two messages with their automated service for a callback and have yet to receive a call over a week later. Can't give more than one star if I can't even talk to a human.

I compliment Kajal Ghuman for her persistence and assistance in a complex transaction. As Executor for my late son's estate, I was endeavouring to sell a vehicle from the estate to a local buyer, but I personally am located in Toronto. Kajal steered me through the complex process of transferring it from the estate to me and then to the new buyer. This required granting a POA to a friend in Whistler. Kajal was patient but thorough. I appreciated her help.

I got served by Demi who has served me many times and is always incredibly helpful and easy to talk to! Last year when the pandemic hit and everything was rapidly closing she went so far above and beyond to make sure I could get my car insured before Westland Insurance closed. In a very stressful and uncertain time she helped me to get my ducks in a row with so much human compassion and I'm forever grateful for that. The service here is unreal!

ICBC should have a sign at the door with the hours when their employees leave on 1h break and no one is at the office, to avoid upsets and frustrations for wasted time. Apart from that, very nice service.

There is a employee there named Mark that helped me and my friend out immensely. We are from the States and weren’t sure of difference in laws and he broke everything down and explained the procedures and laws to us. He took his took time with us and even went out of his way to offer advice. Awesome guy surely helped us and we were able to go on our way with the proper information and situation fairly resolved. Cool dude, definitely lightened what was a stressful situation for us

Came in to do a quick renewal, no line up, one person in front of me waiting. Open stalls and no acknowledgment from any of the staff. Walked out to drive to another location other than Westland. I waited for 15 minutes and while I don’t mind waiting, I do not appreciate getting ignored by the staff? Communication coaching would prove beneficial.

Update - The manager called me back today regarding this and appologized. I appreciate the contact an effort and because of this will try them again.

Our Wistler ski cabin was rammed last winter (2018) by an unidentified vehicle.causing damage to the corresponding siding, studs and dry wall. We contacted Westland Insurance, who put us in touch with adjuster Andrea Symonds. Andrea responded promptly, arranged for an engineering assessment of the damage and put us into contact with a restoration company. All appointments were kept.punctually and subsequently, the restoration company completed the repairs in a reasonable time.
I have no hesitation in recommending the service provided by Westland.
