Despite filling out the required forms for homeowners insurance, Westland never sent me a quote even after I followed up multiple times via email and telephone over a period of 3 weeks. I had no choice but to get insurance elsewhere because my house purchase was closing in 2 days. Luckily another company got me a quote in 1 day!

Update: issue has been resolved after being escalated to the regional manager, happy to have it all figure out, but it should have never got to this point

Extremely disorganized, I had a tenant policy with them for a year, and then was unaware that I needed to stop that policy when I moved out. I take full responsibility, but the fact that I came to renew my ICBC insurance and it took them another 6 months to contact me after I came in to do that to tell me that I had money owing on the insurance absolutely baffles me.

Jesse Villanueva is the very best. We went with Westland because we were buying a home and wanted to go with the insurance provider that was already insuring said property. This is the best place I have found in almost 40 years.
They are open when others are not.
Last visit I met Michelle.
Michelle spent like 45 minutes on 2 calls to icbc. They don't get paid for theirs patience and time doing this.
She was so nice I fell in love.
So I have 4 things insured right now.
I can't wait to go back it was fun.

Excellent service from JESSE! I went there to renew my car insurance on Oct 31st. Jesse reviewed my previous insurance options and recommended better options that I need to upgrade. Very helpful!
In the end, he gave me tissues to clean the license plate before putting on a new sticker. Nobody did that before for 15 years of my experience at insurance places.

I got more than a good quote because Patricia (hope I have your name right!) took extra time not only to just explain the legal vocabulary and rules of my policy, but also gave me insight in the potential impact of some decisions I was making. I walked in at the last minute to get insurance after a competitor agency failed to help me out after a month of back and forth communication. Jesse was professional, answered all my questions, and processed my insurance immediately! **UPDATE**
Well, after leaving a message and a week of not hearing back from Donna-Leigh White, I guess your suggestion of contacting her was just posturing to give the impression your company follows up on their failings.
I will NOT be renewing any insurance with this "company" after 20 years, there are many more reputable agents around who know how to treat a customer. Outfits who know how trashy they are hide their reviews, this is one of them.

Unimpressed that following their covid protocols cost me money. Recently renewed at the Colwood location and was advised Uptown screwed up last year resulting in the loss of a years worth of discounts. Thanks for nothing Uptown, especially in a time when it really makes a difference.

I visited Westland at Up Town mall in Victoria today. I have dealt with Westland for many years.
Today I had ICBC polices to renew as well as a Westland Marine policy. Also I needed advice on preplanning moving insurance coverage from my owned house to a rental unit along with extending liability and theft coverage to a vacant piece of land.
One stop shopping, Jesse Villanueva was able to renew and advise on all of these issues. He was efficient, professional and friendly.

I would like to extend a special thank-you to Jesse Villanueva at the Uptown Branch of Westland Insurance. Jesse helped me acquire owner insurance for my strata unit and very patiently explained why I needed owner insurance for my strata unit, and how this differs from the blanket insurance held by the strata corporation.   Together we determined what I required in order to protect myself from any deductibles in the strata corporate insurance that could be assessed to me.   It was a pleasure working with Jesse.    Indeed, I have always had positive experiences at Westland and highly recommend them.   Thank you Jesse!

Staff are friendly and helpful. The newer location at Uptown is spacious and they have COVID safety measures in place. When renewing my car insurance they gave me a new pen to sign the documents which was sealed in plastic. I got to take the pen with me.

Waited in line for 20 or so minutes and I was told that there was only one staff doing auto insurance and given a line up, she had been instructed to direct customers to a nearby auto insurance instead.

Once inside, everything was done quickly and efficiently. However, I cant be the only person with health issues that make it difficult to stand in line and wait for 20 to 30 minutes. I foolishly had forgotten to renew my insurance so had to walk there, which added to my issue with standing.
How hard can it be to provide a couple of chairs for people to sit in? Everybody wants to pass on 100% of the burden to the next guy. As a consumer, I feel like I'm now paying more for poorer service.

I just had the opportunity to renew my homeowner's insurance at the Victoria Uptown facility, and the service was excellent, especially with the Covid 19 precautions. The agent I worked with was Jesse Villanueva, and he was able to help me navigate the coverage that I wanted, including changing a carrier. One provider's website failed, but after I left Jesse was able to get through and completed the transaction. Later that afternoon he phoned me to let me know that he had been successful in obtaining the coverage we had discussed. I will be pleased to recommend Jesse and Westland Insurance to my friends that may looking for help with their insurance needs.

After recently moving to BC and being a long time Westland customer. I entered the Uptown location. Seeing as it was not a busy time for them. 6 staff at their work station, 1 of which was dealing with a client. I stood at the entrance for a several minutes without a greeting or acknowledgement. Finally, I was approached by an employee. I told him that I had recently moved and am looking to open a new insurance policy. ICBC. He walked over to another staff member, returned and told me that they couldn’t help me. Again, being a long time Westland customer, I found this very strange. Completely unprofessional and rude. I will never recommend this company or location to anyone. Such an awful experience.

This particular insurance location with Pamela is amazing and is my go to! Pamela went out of her way right at closing after I needed to get insurance to drive home. She took me inside when the store really did not need to (I saw her stack of papers she had on her desk near the back) but Pamela did not let that phase her once. She answered all my questions even though it was clearly extra from my part, and she most of all made getting insurance really enjoyable! (when’s the last time you could say that?) From making jokes and keeping a upbeat environment to educating me on interesting points I did not previously know, she did everything in her power to make sure I was a happy customer and that I was! If you want to really consider a great, family and people oriented group for your insurance, I can only recommend this place! (The Manager is truly polite and friendly, and while the rest of the staff are seriously awesome and fun to chat with, Pamela is the person I really recommend most)

The staff here are amazing, they are like a family with the way they chat with each other and clients, they are kind, they are professional, and they walk you through everything so you know what it is you are looking for and signing. This was by far a tremendous experience compared to the so many other customer service encounters I’ve been having since this covid event, and I cannot say this enough! The store is clean and sanitized everywhere so you feel more safe as well as still feeling like an establishment unlike how most stores are like now. Check this place out asap, your insurance won’t be the same again! I don’t write tons of reviews but this deserved it!

(P. S, With covid and whatnot, I strongly recommend calling ahead! It will be a better experience this way!)

Unable to confirm amounts I should be charged on two properties, then overcharged me what 2 employees quoted and now refusing a refund. Every time I called they claimed that they couldn’t answer my question or I had to wait a couple days for somebody to come back in the office. They continued to say how busy they were, now answering machine only and no response same day. If you are busy doing ICBC, here some of the 100s of people laid off and train them. Treat customers better and refund when you overcharge what you quoted. Will be moving my insurance elsewhere

Totally recommend! Great, friendly staff who know there stuff. No unnecessary upsell attempts - in fact they make an effort to save you some $. They make the auto insurance renewal process quick and painless. Liz helped me and was awesome. SO much better than Sussex Insurance inside Walmart.

I personally made sure my husband too his home, auto, and company away from west land. They are incompetent. His new insurance company way easier to deal with. His new insurance provider is not only highly friendly knowledgeable staff but up in technology and the discounts.

NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY!
They made a typo on my account. Icbc then sent me a letter notifying me of the their mistake. Which I should pay a fee for their mistake. In order to correct the typo I must go to their office. Today was the only day I could get time off work. I went to their office where I waited for 40 minutes just for Westland to tell me they could not help me and I should comeback another day. When I mentioned I worked they said I could take TIME OFF WORK! I should not have to take time of work to fix (uptown) Westlands mistake. I believe this office should be more customer service focused instead of declaring it’s not their problem it’s the customers problem.
