I recently lost my license plate and needed another one. Not knowing what to do I went to Westland Insurance. The nice young lady was super helpful. She was very professional and yet cordial. I noticed her name was Mel. Thank you Mel. So much appreciated.

Came to this branch today to get a few things done and had a lovely woman named Mel help me with everything. She was very sweet and professional, I felt comfortable and welcomed immediately and she got everything done fast and efficiently!

Westland insurance. She was great covered everything we needed. I’m a new customer and will return in the future.

Staff needs to be educated better. Sold a vehicle and the new owner was advised by the female employee that he can’t register the vehicle since he has outstanding tickets on his DL.and that ICBC accounting is closed on weekends so a call can’t even be made to ask any questions. He was also advised that his parent has to sign forms since he is 17. He advised its registration to his name only no insurance, employee stated it doesn’t matter and that’s how the government makes sure to get the fines paid. I stated it doesn’t make any sense and if she is sure! She said yes. Didn’t make sense to me so I suggested we go to another insurance place. At the next insurance place sure enough without mentioning anything about what just took place at westland, the employee there made a call to accounting which was open, she got an authorization number for the registration only and the transfer of owner ship was completed.
His mother didn’t have to sign anything therefore her time was wasted having to come to the insurance.
I did call Westland insurance same day and spoke to the female employee and I just advised her that we were able to transfer ownership to which she stated I don’t know how they did that. So lesson is you can buy 10 vehicles and own them, and not be punished by ICBC because of having outstanding fines on your DL. That makes sense, has nothing to do with driving just owning. Not the first time I got an outrageous rule from a broker, if it doesn’t make sense, check on it.

I got there 3 minutes from closing and Mel was very professional and I got my insurance in no time. Very friendly

Donna Guay. This review is only for her. She doesn’t know basic things about insurance, was rude with me. She gave wrong information and when I said that’s not right, she said ICBC changed the policy and when she checked with another insurance advisor, she realized she was wrong and when I confronted her about this, she started talking loudly and still didn’t accept that she was wrong. I get it that we cannot remember all the policy and procedures but it’s better to first check what is right and what is wrong rather than giving wrong information by saying that policy has been changed by the company. She started showing attitude when she came to know that she is wrong to cover it up. Will never recommend her. I still have to check with another ICBC branch if everything has been done correctly because I think she messed up on my car registration.

Update - Branch Manager Sydney followed up with me on this and made an appointment to fix the issues. Greyson provided a great service and went through all the small details. They fixed all the issues that occurred in previous visit. Overall great experience at this branch.
