Westminster Abbey

I love to pray here. It’s quiet and reverent. I also appreciate the Latin singing mass, though I am not Catholic.

This is a very special church and monestary. It is so beautiful inside, and it is sitting on a hill majestically. We came in the afternoon, and the low sun shines through the stained glass. There is a short hike to a viewpoint with a rare, panoramic view of the valley. If you are passing by Mission, come check this place out. It's worth seeing. 1 hr visit is more than sufficient, including the hike. Note: There is a dress code to enter the church as this is a monestary run by the Benedictine monks.

I visited this Abbey a number of years ago, almost by accident. At that time, there were visiting bell ringers and it was unbelievably beautiful. It’s always stayed with me and when I had the opportunity to take a visiting cousin there, I was happy to see it again. No bell ringing, but gorgeous architecture and grounds! I highly recommend taking the time to explore this location!

The family made a short stop to see the monestery. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with a variety of flowers in bloom. The church has beautiful stained glass windows which is colorful.

A beautiful Drive with stunning views. We were there for Autumn leaves everywhere and didn’t even mind the rain!

Come and visit with fellow retreat campers, there is a nice space in the auditorium for quiet meditation.

Catholic Abbey in Mission. Beautiful grounds and amazing views. Lovely place to have a tranquil walk.

A good place to say your prayer or attend mass on weekends. Place is so serene. View is just amazing. There's a trail going to a viewpoint.

Went there on a Sunday - The doors were late in opening up. Nice walk to the outlook, just wear appropriate shoes as it's a bit of a hike

Beautiful church but the monks could use a lesson in kindness when speaking towards others. Appalling behaviour - yelling at someone across the church just because they were looking for a way out? Shame. Practice what you preach.

As a Catholic, I've heard about this place for many years. Finally I have a chance to visit Mission and this place when camping nearby.

You could get a map from the residence visitor centre, or you could just download it from their website. Not too many indoor places were open to public. We visited the church and then walked around the outdoor ground along trails. Very huge ground that you could feel you were hiking in a provincial park. There was a view point that looked out to the city of Mission and Fraser River which was very beautiful. The trail to Our Lady Grotto was not well trimmed. Grass was a bit tall and wet after some rain. Our boots were all wet after about 30-45 mins walking around.

Very quiet and tranquil location. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful experience, this is the place to come.

Westminster Abbey is a community of Benedictine monks and home to the Seminary of Christ the King. It is located on the border of the town of Mission, British Columbia. It has a beautiful landscape, and a scenic view overlooking the Mission, the Fraser River, and the Abbotsford.

The Abbey Church has a defining environment with stained glass windows and an elevated cathedral ceiling. A serene, sacred good place for prayers and a place of worship to God. Everyone is welcome to join the worship & liturgy. The Abbey Church is open to visitors from 5: 30 am to 6: 00 pm (Monday-Friday).

Beautiful setting. Peaceful. My uncle was one of the founding fathers. Used to go to top of the bell tower with views of the Frazier Valley.

Sadly we came just before closing so we couldn't see the inside.but wow! Was the outside beautiful. Worth the drive. Will definitely return at a better time.

Beautiful place for a day away to pray. Check the dress code before going into the buildings.

The monks' singing/chanting during service is very beautiful. The acoustics inside the cathedral add to the effect. Outside is the bell tower, a prominent landmark visible from many places in the valley below. A 5 minute walk from the cathedral/bell tower brings you to a spectacular viewpoint that overlooks the Fraser River valley

The key to eternity is located here, this is where the seminary is and a handful of retired priests, their is a dress code, basically no shorts permitted or short skirts, basically dress modestly, some incredible singers, especially if you like to hear Latin, this place could use more soundfold, it echoes a bit due to the building constructed from concrete.

It's a beautiful peaceful place. Theirs an ease and u feel free. The walk to the lookout is pretty neat. The place has incredible beauty. Definitely worth a visit.

The monks have built a path and a lookout. Perched high above the town, it has a protective fence. The view across the Fraser River and the mountains beyond is gorgeous.
