Westside Church

I live downtown & decided to go to this morning's 11am service. From the time I arrived it was just a chaotic mess of people streaming in late. Lots of people arriving at 11: 30 looking for seats, and interrupting myself & others trying to sing and rejoice in the Lord. Everyone is welcome to worship yes, but I feel it's indignant to show up when you feel like it. Then what really surprised me is people getting up & down to come in and out with coffee etc. A theatre has an intermission, why can't Westside not have access to that during service?
Everything was just a big distraction, and when i finally get to hear what the Pastor was sharing it turned into a "let's grow the church" I need 99 more people he kept saying, but I'm not about growing the church or numbers it's what God wants he said.

It felt like the goal was to do the whole love one another speech that these mega church mentalities try to push forward. I also found a few inconsistencies with what he was sharing biblically, and what the Bible conveys that bothered me. It's really key to remember that being a believer in Christ doesn't mean you need to worship a building that says it's a church, or grow it's numbers. Fellowship, community, and integrity is what I seek, not who's testimony brings in more people. Wish it could have had a different vibe, but fortunately I have seen this before in Nashville, in Halifax. It's a trendy church vibe goal, not a place of worship that's truly about being transparent.

They are welcoming and friendly! You can feel the Holy Spirit present in this place. Caution though to those who ignore sin according to the Bible. This church may not be for ”liberal” thinkers as they follow the Bible and teachings of Jesus and not of mankind. The Lord doesn’t change—mankind’s culture does. Remember, Jesus said that the world hated Him first so if people hate you or persecute you for His name’s sake —you are Blessed.

Loved the welcome I received which was warm and friendly as a visitor from overseas. Was offered a coffee after stepping in the door and a Cafe drink afterwards. More importantly though I found the whole service to be uplifting from the songs to the sermon which was inspiring. Would recommend it to anyone and if you are local you couldn't find a better place to worship and be involved. God bless the team as they bring his message to their sphere of influence.

From the moment I entered Westside, I was captivated by the church's breathtaking beauty and serene atmosphere. The warm and welcoming congregation made me feel instantly at home, and the heartfelt worship touched my soul. The pastor's inspiring sermon delivered profound insights and left me feeling spiritually uplifted. The church's commitment to community outreach and social impact also deeply impresses me. Without a doubt, Westside is a shining example of faith, fellowship, service, and making Jesus known. Highly recommended to anyone seeking the truth, community and faith.

Pastor is sound, teaching is sound from what I can see, they just need to be steer clear of the ecumenical and egalitarian traps that other churches have fallen into which has driven devout believers out of their assemblies.

Faithful and accurate preaching of God's word. The preachers are humble, authentic and transparent.knowing God is eternal life.so true.it's the truth that will set us free!

I love this church. I feel accepted, great services and I had an outpouring of the holy spirit that had me weeping for the whole worship part of the service. It was like Jesus had spoken to me telling me my life of failure and mistakes was ok and he loved me and regardless of my self damning he loves me and he has a spit in heaven for me! I also love that the church has great services, and there are comfy seats, and also no long begging tirades about tithing, (which is nice). I consider westside my home church and I get moved by the holy spirit every time. They also have communion and as far as I can see they have good doctrine as its MB awesome church! Its downtown but everyone has been very nice to me. Jesus is lord, king of kings whether or not anyone else makes that claim I do and I love meeting with fellow believers in Gods house, just wish I would have stuck with Jesus and not run away so many years ago. I love this church!
