Dr. Oketona is an amazing doctor and we feel very fortunate to have her. Very diligent on attention to detail and follow up.

I wouldn’t even give this clinic 1 star. My husband booked our first appt and unfortunately we missed it (it was booked weeks in advance). Neither of us received confirmation calls or messages. I called to rebook as we need this family doctor for our growing family and the receptionist advised me that ‘the doctor said not to rebook us’ and then gave us no other option. Once you miss one appt your out for GOOD!
We haven’t even met the doctor nor even stepped into the clinic. Maybe they should stop taking on new patients if they can’t treat them!
I asked if I could rebook for sometime in the future and apologized for the miss communications. The same excuse ‘the doctor said no, it’s in your chart’ …we don’t even have a chart with you guys yet!
Never will I recommended this poorly organized clinic to anyone.

Dr Oleyese and his staff have gone above and beyond with not only myself but my loved ones, taking on my family when no one else could due to the system shortages.

I cannot recommend Dr. Olajide Oketona and sadly would warn that any new mother keep herself and her baby as far away from him as possible. I've never written a review before but I've also never ended a doctors appointment half way through crying. I'm not sure what I could have done differently to create a more positive relationship with this man. On three separate appointments spanning 6 months Dr. Olajide Oketona's behaviour was unprofessional and unkind.

You say your staff and doctors at Westside "can't defendthemselves". Well, neither can we the patients! I waited a whole year to get a female doctor at your clinic. And I won't say why she is no longer my doctor other than to say that she definitely was not the doctor for me. I have 40+ yrs experience in the medical field and I was soooo looking forward to the new female doctor coming. And I was really looking forward to having her as my doctor. This was of course because I thought she would be as kind, caring, compassionate, thorough, as my previous female doctors were. I had one lady doctor in Lower Mainland for 10 years and she was the BEST! She went to the ends of the earth for her clients. Then when I moved to the Okanagan, I had another lady doctor for 11 years. She too was an incredible doctor. Unfortunately when Covid hit she downsized her practice considerably and I live in Kelowna and she is in Summerland, so I was one of the unfortunate who lost her as my doctor. I have never been to a doctor who does not care what the patient has to say. Does not want input from the patient. I have never been to a doctor who "Dictates" and if you don't do as she says, or tells you to do, you are out! She never Consults with the patient. I thought Doctors were supposed to do no HARM! I have multiple serious health issues and a Complex Chronic Multi-faceted, Difficult to treat and difficult to manage Disease and because of her, I am now without a doctor at a time in my life when I need one the most. But NO doctor is better than a BAD doctor!

Don't even bother calling. Was on hold for 50 minutes and still didn't get to speak to anyone. Was caller number 12 and then was caller number 1 and no one picked.

My husband and I have been going to Westside Medical Clinic for 5 years and have always received excellent care from Dr. Oyelese. He really cares about his patients and listens to our concerns.

Dr Reynolds’ office has been like a warm hug after the anxiety of finding a new doctor. Dr Reynolds and the clinic staff are friendly, accommodating, efficient and professional. It’s an all too rare combination that I value and appreciate.

The Doctor I see is Absoloutly great very proffessional but the front end staff are the worst i have ever experienced from misleading to passing the buck and if they dont want to answer the phone they let it ring endlessly until you end up in the answer que avoid this place at all costs like i said the front end staff do nothing for the reputation and professionalism of the Drs at this practice if there eas a minus 5 i would be using it

Wow Doctor Esume… worse doctor I have ever seen in my life. Super confrontational. Go there looking for help feel like an inconvenience. 0 star if I could.

My husband and I got into the practice to be seen by Dr. Oketona. Not very impressed by poor follow-up. We have since found a new doctor and feel very fortunate.

Probably one of the worst doctors experiences i have ever had.

From the moment i walked in the doors i was un-greeted by the reception lady, although you were on the phone and didn't make any eye contact with me as i stood right in-front of you for about 5 minutes, and then you proceeded to by pass me as someone else walked in after and you helped him right away.

I dont know if you had a bad day, however your customer service/attitude need some work, people come here for help and have been waiting a long time to find a family physician and a good medical clinic.

Not going to name the doctor but the (person) was very abrupt, made it very clear about the expectations and rules that you expect, wanted me to sign a piece of paper about releasing my medical documents that i wanted some more time to think about before taking on the doctor as my physician, the doctors wanted it signed before i left the clinic. I had to very sternly say “no” i will sign it when im ready, also was told that i would not be able to see any other doctors at this clinic if i didn’t take the one i was provided with initially. Honestly never heard of this before so i told the reception lady that there are a lot of other good doctors in the region and not to worry.

Left with a bad taste in my mouth, definitely wont be coming back here and do not recommend you attend, im sure there are other doctors at that clinic who care and are compassionate. However this was not my experience, you can be the judge.

This is the worst doctors office I’ve ever experienced. I was unaware they were no longer doing walk ins and I brought a friend in who was experiencing an anaphylactic reaction. The lady behind the desk just looked at us and said, sorry there is no dr who can see you. Thankfully the pharmacist next door was amazing and got her an epi pen and called the ambulance.

Very rude and abrupt receptionist. Was very happy with the doctor but one of the receptionist needs a better training. Very disappointed with the experience from the front desk.

Finally got an appointment for a meet and greet and met the doctor and that was all good - Dr Renolds seems great. Booked a follow up for my wife and my 3 month old son - timed it so he was just up from his nap and fed. Waited an hour in the waiting room/doc room and my boy started to get cranky. What is the point of an appointment if you are going to make patients wait an hour. Funny they had a sign saying how to respect people's time and only bring up one issue during an appointment. What about respecting our time - we have jobs and stuff to do! Anyways, we left and probably won't be back. Going to do the ND route.at least they respect your time and won't push any garbage on my son!

The worst professional encounter I have ever experienced. I feel that any Manager within the Healthcare industry requires some level of empathy, respect and customer service, but Vicky has none. Her staff are a representation of how rude, unhelpful and unfriendly she was towards me when asking for a female Doctor for a sensitive subject. She told me to go to a different clinic (which by the way Vicky, is not accepting new patients as you said it was) if I did not like her clinics protocols. I am left with no Doctor, despite knowing that Westside Medical Associates has a female Doctor taking on new patients. You should be ashamed of the way you make your patients feel (which also has nothing to do with me not being born in this country, as you so politely put it).

Do not waste your time with this clinic. They either do not know how to book appointments or decide not to honor them. Either way, don't even bother going here

First of all.it is very clean and professional place and they accept new patients.
But personally most I appreciate my Doctor (Rehana Ahmed). She is wonderful and nice Doctor, she is also very helpful and she do care about every single person. Highly recommend

The front desk staff is always very rude and short. There are numerous complaints on here about them. Also, my old doctor there was Dr. Esume. He’s one of those doctors that give the industry a bad name. He doesn’t listen to your concerns, he will talk over you, every appointment I had with him he was always late. Two of the times he was more than 40 minutes late. He blamed it on the front desk staff not letting him know that I was there. I tried to switch to a different doctor there and they would not allow it. So I canceled my file there and tried to switch to a new doctor six months after I had closed everything with them and they still wouldn’t allow me. Very poorly run and very unprofessional. Dr. Esume is also the director, which explains why it’s poorly run and nothing being done about the front desk staff.

I’m not sure about the rest of the doctors at Westside Med. I hope for the sake of the other patients that they’re good caring professionals. This review isn’t about a good doctor unfortunately. Wish it was. I really needed help.but this guy doesn’t care for anyone other than himself, it would seem. I believe him to be the worst doctor on staff. Most unprofessional guy I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He doesn't take patient history seriously. Doesn't listen to fellow colleagues on actions/testing to be done. Talks over you and doesn’t respect a decent schedule. He’s always 40-50 minutes late for every meeting. Repeats same tests on topics already discussed. If you want to waste your time while feeling unheard and then tossed out on the road. Dr. Esume is the guy for you and Westside Med is the place to be.

If I could give him zero stars I would. Time and time again.

The phone service leaves something to be desired for. I was just left waiting for 20 minutes to speak to reception, only to have their software time out on me and bump me back to the end of the waiting list.

My current family doctor at Westside Medical Associates takes the time to listen to my issues, and is open to discussion when it has come to my mental health and my medications. I feel he cares and tries his best for me.
The reception however has a lot of work to do if making sure their patients feel valued and comfortable is a priority.
If you suffer from anxiety like myself, you would do best to skip this clinic.

I've been going here since they opened circa 2015. Dr. Oyelese has been a great doc and I've never had an issue with the administrative staff as many here have mentioned. I woukd definitely recommend this medical clinic.

I love my physician Dr. Esume. Very professional and thorough with his clinical assessments and subsequent treatment. But the MOA’s are a very disorganized bunch. They rarely answer the phone and for some strange reason, on at least 2 separate occasions they have called me with results/ appointment information that has already been relayed by my doc. It’s disorganized, unprofessional and caused undue anxiety and worry.

For example, I had my doc call and he relayed blood work results to me. He prescribed medications and told me to check in after a month. I then got a call from an MOA who said he wanted to discuss my results with me. I told her that he had already done that and she said (I kid you not), “well did he discuss the PSA results (test for prostate cancer) with you”. I was panicked for the next couple days until he called and said that we had already discussed everything. I was like what? That’s brutal.

I'm a new patient here and Dr. Esume has been really great! It was easy to book an appt and the office calls to schedule my follow-ups. So far, so good. Thanks!

Don't waste your time coming to this place. Second time I've tried to go here and second time I've been blown away at the service and wait times. Absolute disgusting service

The doctors are wonderful, especially my family doctor she's brilliant and is professional while maintaining a comfortable and safe atmosphere when we interact, and I trust her. But the reception and the wait times are just awful. I shouldn't be waiting an hour after my scheduled phone appointment for a call that takes all of 10-15 minutes. And the receptionists are dismissive, condescending and generally unhelpful. I booked an appointment at a certain time because I have a tight schedule at university, and now I'm missing a lecture close to midterms.

Why, if your hours are 9 to 5, is the phone line still not on at 9: 10 and already off when I call at 4: 20 pm? I realize the entire world is short staffed, but I just need to make an appt!

I was trying to find a family physician since I moved to Kelowna 8 months ago, and recently found out that WestSide medical was accepting new patients. I was assigned to Dr. Joseph Bajela and have seen him twice so far. He is extremely kind and really made me feel comfortable and cared for. Highly recommend seeing him if you're looking for a family doctor!

If a 0 star rating was an option that would have been selected. Terrible office staff - experiences both personally, as an attempted new patient, and on behalf of my mother, were horrible. The office manager is rude and has no inclination to try to be assistive. When asked to speak with another person her answer was "well I am the office manager so you can speak to me". I hope the doctors are aware of how poor their front of office staff are as I am sure it has caused more patients to leave than just us. Glad we found an amazing family doctor with pleasant and useful staff so we no longer need to attempt to use their services.

My husband went in with severe back pain and the doctor told him that he was wasting his time. Never go there.

I saw Dr. Esume for severe back pain that has been on and off for years. He really understood the pain I was in and was very sympathetic and sincere. I have asked for an xray for years and been told that I didn't need one at other places and even in emerg. Dr. Esume ordered me one and diagnosed severe osteoarthritis. Since then I have seen him for a few things and he is always very kind and thorough.

Absolutely adore our doctor that recently moved to this clinic, Dr. Shyman. We were unfortunately not impressed by the front of house staff on our first visit. They did not greet us and were overall unfriendly. Maybe they were having a bad day. Miss the gals back at Vintage View Medical!

So glad we can just walk in. I tried to do help my mom do on line visit. Because I thought we had to now days. I was about to throw her cell. We are older don't know or remember passwords. Not lol. Thank you so much.

Assistance staff is kind, warm, and experienced, and Dr. Esume is excellent. He is professional, good natured and knowledgeable. Very happy to have found a family doctor in this clinic.

Staff is friendly.
Dr. Bajela is great. He is very profesional, knowledgeable, empathetic and patient.
He personally follows up with you on your lab results and answers any questions you may have. He cares and I am very happy he is my family Doctor.

My daughter went to see Dr. Esume with concern of a serious breast problem. Not only did he completely dismiss her concerns, failed to even give her a proper exam and only told her to apply cream to her breast 5 times a day. The next day we went to a real doctor who found a lump in her breast and confirmed that she had many very dangerous symptoms. He is quickly scheduling appointments for her to get answers on how bad her health problem is. I would not send my dog to this man. Please, please find any other person to look after you and your family members. It's only a matter of time before someone else pays for his neglect.

The doctor I see is always helpful, reception is hit or miss. Some are lovely.some are incredibly rude and impatient, even when it is due to their error.

Sent in new patient form in December, was told to expect a call in January. Called in early February, was told to wait another week and a half, now we're at the end of February. I tried calling again, was on hold for 10 minutes and got disconnected. Called again, waited 6 minutes and eventually gave up. Left this review and got a call back the same day.

Dr. Esume was very patient and the staff was friendly. I'll update the rating after my first physical.

Always accepting new patients - don't be lured in by this. Each appointment is rushed and they don't take the time to get to know the patients.

Not a good doctor. Not compassionate, seemed judgemental and 3 strikes of incompetence. Prescribed medications to husband and two weeks later he went in complaining of no sleep and craziness, he just prescribed more medication of the same kind. His office staff was rude. His office called me on two occasions explaining a mishap of lab results, (not sure if it was his office or lab at fault). I feel this is a doctor that learned what he needed to to get his MD and thats it. No more education needed.

I find it very interesting that Dr Milanovic hands out business cards outside of westside medical at local drinking establishments to try and persuade female clients to have cosmetic body work done. I view this as being un-professional
