Whistler Year-Round Fishing

We had a wonderful afternoon fishing pink salmons with Matt. He knows exactly where and how to fish each species. (We were the only one around us catching fish!) Moreover all fishing equipment was clean and adapted. We recommend Matt!

What a fantastic experience! From start to finish we felt like we were in the best hands with Matt. He was extremely friendly. He took us to a very nice fishing spot and helped us catch a lot of fish and use the right technique. I would highly recommend the trip to anyone, thanks again for everything Matt!

We did a 5-hour morning fly fishing trip with Matt- 4 people in our group. We had a great time and everyone caught multiple fish, including one real lunker known as Big Sally. Matt knows where to find her.

My wife and I had a blast fishing with Matt. He put us on a hole with non-stop action, and gave us some great technique tips that I will carry moving forward. I have fished since I could walk, and I learned a few great tips. It was my wife's first time with a fly rod and Matt got her dialed, (she may have outfished me.) I've done a lot of fishing trips with guides and this was definitely one of the best I've ever done. Matthew is very organized, prepared, knowledgeable, and patient. He had all the right gear. The shoes and the waders fit perfectly. He was a great teacher and made fly fishing super easy. He gave us all the pointers we needed and then gave us enough time and space to learn on our own and enjoy the time on the river. He took us to a great spot in Squamish and we caught a ton of fish. He took lots of pictures for us. Couldn't have asked for more. Had a great time and would definitely go back again. Highly recommended!

Thanks to Matt I was able to make a dream come true and catch a Salmon in Canada. On holiday from England, Matt was able to put me right on the fish even when timings and conditions were against us. Catching a total of 5 Pinks to 6lb and 3 Coho and as always the big ones got away at the net.

Great experience with this company on our recent trip to Whistler. Super fast response to our email inquiry and also really helpful in accommodating mobility needs with flat terrain and an easily accessible site. Visiting Whistler from Australia it was my first time fly fishing and I found Matt to be extremely knowledgeable and accommodating and before I knew it I was catching fish after fish after fish!

My family and I had booked a fly fishing trip with Matthew from Whistler Year-Round Fishing and it was everything and more than we could have asked for. We had booked about a month in advance and rather than just forgetting about us until we showed up, he kept in touch with us as our trip date was nearing and he was informing us on the best fishing spots for the time we would be there.
Matthew was an amazing guide and teacher. None of my family had ever been fly fishing and we were consistently fighting pink salmon in the pristine Squamish river with beautiful scenery and wildlife.

I bought this experience for my boyfriend for his birthday, and I was hesitant at first as he is an avid fisher back home on Vancouver Island, so I wasn't sure if he was going to be keen on doing a tour. I am happy to say that I was completely wrong, he was actually upset I didn't book it earlier on in the trip! We both had an absolute blast, and have expanded our rod collection back home to add a few fly rods. Dawson, our guide, was awesome and went above and beyond to ensure we were able to catch some fish after a slow morning! This was the first experience of fly fishing for my girlfriend and I. We booked a 3 hour guided session for trout fishing. Due to challenging fishing conditions that day, our guide Matt brought us to 5 different fishing spots so that we could finally succeed in getting multiple fish. This led to the fishing session lasting a total of 5 hours without incurring extra cost. It really showed that Matt cared about us getting fish. Matt took the time to teach us 3 different fishing techniques and kept us entertained throughout the entire session. We had a great time and are already thinking about our next fly fishing adventure. My son and I fished with Whistler Year-Round Fishing while vacationing in Whistler this Summer. It was our first time fly fishing and it was a blast. Dawson was a fantastic guide. He knew where the "honey hole" was and had us fly fishing like pros in no time! I've never seen so many fish in one area. My son caught the most beautiful Pink Salmon I've ever seen. We will definitely be back and highly recommend these guys. You won't be disappointed!

I cannot speak highly enough of Whistler Year-Round Fishing. Our family of four had no prior experience with fly fishing and were intimidated by the gear and techniques that go with the sport. Whistler Year-Round Fishing made the entire process, from pick up to the actual fishing, effortless. Our guide was exceptionally accommodating, knowledgeable and was fantastic with my two boys 10 and 13. In our 5-hour session, we caught over 10 gorgeous rainbow trout, large and small. Standing in green glacier water surrounded by lush sun-drenched mountains was the highlight of our trip! After our first fly fishing experience, we're now hooked (no pun intended)!

This is a really terrific family experience. Matt the owner is committed to everyone having a good time and communicated superbly prior to our day of fishing. Dawson, our guide, is exactly what you want.knowledgeable, calm, enjoyable to talk with for the several hours you are together. Overall an excellent decision. Yes.the early start time seems a little daunting when you are on a vacation, but it's totally worth it. Even our teenage daughters admitted it was fun.

Purchased the 3hr guided fishing experience with Matthew for my step-dad during his visit this year. He was thrilled with it! It was his first time fly fishing, but with Matt's guidance and his previous knowledge of fishing he was able to pick it up quickly. He hooked quite a few fish, right from the first cast! My fiancé surprised me with a guided fly fishing walk and wade trip and let me tell you It was absolutely the best thing I’ve done in a long time. I am an avid CenterPin and Spinning reel fisherman but have never been fly fishing before. Matt taught me and my fiancé without judgement and we all had a great time! She caught about 15 rainbows and I caught 10. It was an awesome trip! Matt had lots of local knowledge and interesting life stories. I can’t recommend these guys enough. Dawson was my guide and he picked me up at the hotel and within a 5 minute drive we were fishing. I love to fish but I have never used a fly rod. Dawson taught me all I needed to know. It took me some time to get the hang of it but Dawson was extremely patient with me. We fished two separate spots and landed a bunch of nice rainbow trout. Not only was the fishing great but Dawson was awesome company. He has a ton of knowledge and I learnt a bunch from him. If your wondering if you should do this…the answer is 100%.

JEEZ LOUIIIISE! What a great fishing experience with our guide Dawson! We had the best guide, always helpfull and smiling and the scenic while fishing was unforgettable! We cautgh about 15 rainbow trouts and we had a blast!

This was our first time doing some guided fishing and I must say, it was well worth it! Our guide Dawson was really nice, informative and hands on with advice and assistance every time we caught a fish. Didn't keep count, but I think we got about 7-8 trout and had a ton of bites. Took my son a bit of time to get his hook set technique down, but Dawson helped him with that also. Booking the tour was super easy as well and Matt was super prompt at getting back to us. Definitely recommend these guys for a great fishing experience in Whistler!

Matt is a SUPER Guide. Knew exactly where to go and exactly when to go there. Ice fished with him in the winter and returned just before the weather warmed up enough to bring on the big melt and mess up the water clarity. My 12 year old had a fun evening fishing one spot the whole time. We lost count of the trout we caught waiting for the big one to bite, and was amazed at the kind of fight that even relatively small wild trout were actually putting up!
