White Spot Kerrisdale

White spot is a classic in our household. Great spot to bring kids. Sara, our waitress, was great too. Kids menu is fun and customizable.

The food comes quickly and is consistent.

Breakfast June/23. Served eggs even though specifically requested none touch my plate. (Cheesesteak hash) Food taken away, brought back later. Said it was a full new plate. It was not and it triggered a allergic reaction from the first time I got food poisoning at White Spot in Langley.
Also, not informed store was out of avocado for the avocado prawn Bennie that was also ordered. Not the first time I’ve had a bad reaction to White Spot food, but it will be the last

One of the older white spots in the city. The staff are very friendly. Food is as good as other white spots.
There are not many sit-down western food restaurants in Kerrisdale. This place is our top choice in the neighborhood.

Caesar wrap chicken as cold and did not taste right. Fried chicken taste like fish to greasy, poached egg and beef brunch dish very cold, cob salad no so good. Food took long time to be ready. Did not enjoy at all. The only white spot I can recomendé is the one in Kingsway and knight

Was invited by family for dinner. Had the Bacon Cheddar Bigger Burger with Zoo Sticks. Tasted fantastic.

What a huge disappointment- we were out of town most of the weekend so pre-ordered thanksgiving turkey dinners for pickup. Received an email confirmation and when we showed up to pickup dinners for five people - no record of it! We had paid and everything. Left empty handed. Thanks for ruining our family’s thanksgiving dinner

Came for a family meal and honestly.it was bad! The burger patties were extremely dry and over cooked and tasted burned. The fries were well done and I'm waiting on a reply back from their social media team to verify if I had dairy in my requested vegan meal.
The server was kind enough, but the only one serving so was over run, which resulted in service that was not attentive.
A big disappointment- we were hoping to make this place our go-to weekly place for a casual family dinner. Won't be returning

One recommendation for the Nat’s Waffle is to service waffle separately from the whip cream and strawberry as the cream and berries made the waffle soft and saggy. I prefer the waffles to be crispy.

Ordered Pasta from this place and I am not really happy with the quality’s of their food. It was literally bland. No seasoning at all. The chicken was in poor condition. Overall, I believe this place doesn’t have consistent quality.

At 11: 55 today I asked to be seated outside since the noise from many children inside was loud. A waitress seated me on he patio with a menu but no water. I waited 27 minutes and no one came. I went inside and asked to see the manager and he came out after 2 minutes. No apology, no water, no excuse then asked it he could take my order. I went elsewhere. If you are going to have the patio open then get someone to serve you!

Taste-wise it’s maybe a little better than McDonald’s. Unfortunately there are not many burger options around Kerrisdale.

My mother and myself had a great lunch, with top shelf service. Ernesto was our waiter. Even though it was extremely busy the staff was so efficient and friendly it was like we were the only customers they had.

They keep getting my order wrong on Ubereats. Is it run by teenagers or something? It’s not like their sandwiches are 5 bucks.

There is a severe staff shortage here so please don’t rush. Having said that Our server was quick, and pleasant & clearly working very hard (only 2 staff for the lunch crowd) He did an excellent job & our meal was overall really pretty good.

Unsure if this is usual but we were “forgotten” to be taken to a table for 20 mins, then service was slow and inattentive. I understand having to wait for a table and maybe they are understaffed but we were mistreated and would never return here

I placed a larger take out order with the restaurant a few weeks in advance, and during that time I have to make a number of changes. The management staff were always willing and helpful about the changes. When we picked up the orders everything was individually bagged with each person's initials. Everyone's order was correct and everyone was happy with their order. I want to say thank you to the staff and management for the friendly, excellent service. We will order from this restaurant again.

Extremely busy, staff overwhelmed by amount of people. Slow service, not through any fault of staff, good food, friendly waitress, felt bad for her.

Friend treated me to Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived quite early (4: 30) They were taken up with takeout orders and not even a host was at the entrance. We were ignored as part of their take-out line. However, when I asked if dine-in was open, my friend and I quickly had our Vax pass checked and we had a table and were made comfortable and offered some beverages.
As we were early, no surprise we had a bit of a wait for the turkey. It arrived a full plate with potatoes parsnips and carrots and yes stuffing It was well cooked and absolutely smothered in gravy. You might have named the dish - Thanksgiving Poutine. As it happens, I love gravy and stuffing and pouting. So for me 4 stars, but if I preferred cranberry sauce it might have been a 2 star experience.

Glaiza was our server the other night and she made a yummy dining experience even better. My daughter and I went to the restaurant in search of turkey dinner as it was Thanksgiving and they had run out, but Glaiza was able to get stuffing with gravy from the kitchen for us and we were thrilled. She made sure we got all of our food promptly, and this was quite a feat considering the restaurant was very busy and she was tending to multiple tables. Glaiza was upbeat, attentive, cheerful, and helpful, even working under these stressful conditions (i.e. Too few servers for # of customers). A real pro! She is the server who makes we want to return to a restaurant, and that's a totally rare occurrence these days! WS Kerrisdale, you're fortunate to have an exceptional longtime employee like Glaiza!

Just stopped in for ice cream and french fries on a Sunday afternoon.
Had strong Covid protocol.
Vaccinated only customers.
It was busy because happy hour started.
Great service.

I'm a bit tainted by nostalgia here, this is right across from my high school and I have a lot of good memories here. But the service is quick, the food is rock solid, and the prices are right. There's also a sense of like a neighbourhood restaurant you don't get as much in places like earls or cactus that are trying to be cool and loungy. Bring the family, try beef dip.

Ok. It's a bit of a socio-demographic restaurant. For those of us who grew up in Vancouver and evokes memories. The food is okay but not great. You won't be disappointed but you won't be enthused at least most of the time.

Oh, I forgot to add, fries with my order were dead Colt. I asked for some yam fries that my friend ordered and they were good when they were came but they were another 20 minutes even though she said it would be another two or three minutes.

Service is definitely lacking. They don't seem like they know what they're doing. Food for dine in took longer than take out. And all I got was chicken fingers and zucchini sticks. Zucchini sticks were bitter.

I wanted to give this place a better rating, but unfortunately they fell short on service and quality of the food. I was looking forward to eating a good Eggs Benny. What I got was barely any hollandaise sauce and ovrr done eggs. I am so confused to why restaurant's charge so much for Egg Benedict and provide a small amount of the sauce. I don't want to smell it, I want to taste it. I mean, really, it's just egg yolk, butter and lemon.

Server was nice but must have been new and not trained well. Brought me the wrong food. That being said she did correct it

Slow service; not everything was temperature hot; and not everything was seasoned well. It was my first time to this location and was hoping it would be an exception to the slowness of Oakridge and Richmond Centre Whitespots, but not so. This place is worse because of the added disappointment of the food itself. Too bad. Hoping it was just an off-day for them.

Good place for indoor or outdoor dining. Service was courteous and friendly and were wearing a mask at all times. The booths had additional separation between tables. The food was delicious and the portions are generous.

Was served by Diana today on the patio. Truly exceptional service, not what i was expecting just going to a whitespot. I’ll definitely be back, thanks Diana!

Good place to have a patio dining experience. The waiters are relatively attentive. The cats rushing by can be a bit annoying though,

Their signature burgers are consistently excellent and have not changed over the past decade. The chocolate and vanilla milkshakes are also fantastic. Their service is always great!

White Spot burgers are Spot on! Fries are always fresh and the servers friendly. I am 52 years old and have been going to White Spots since I was a Child on Vancouver Island in Victoria BC. The kids always love the pirate pack which comes with a chocolate coin. A great place to take family and friends. I highly recommend trying if you haven't yet already.

Mangmwnt and staff are helpful and attentive. The food was good and there were many people catering to customers who seemed to stream in on a busy Friday. One minus to the restaurant, parking is hard to find, pay parking which isn't good to on cold nights from far away.

One of the best white spots in Vancouver. Experienced servers and good food, over the years the prices have jumped but the quality isn’t as high as other restaurants. Would be good to see more deals for regular customers.

I just had a new featured menu item, veggie burger w/ Brie and sautéed onions! Recommend getting them with sweet potato fries.

Honestly, for a BC born chain, I've had better service from a White Spot in Edmonton. The table was dirty when we were seated as were many of the other tables in the restaurant. In fact the general ambience was a little dirty. It wasn't busy otherwise I would cut them some slack. The food was okay, not the best I've had but alright and the waitress was decent.

Reliable Dining.
This location is easily missed on as you walk past. Came in today for a post workout breakfast. The restaurant interior is more spacious than it looks on the outside. The waitstaff are efficient and courteous. Warm lighting with booth and table seatings.

I decided to treat myself by ordering a Shrimp Florentine Benny, a dish I have never tried at White Spot before. My Benny arrived accompanied by a side of smashed potatoes. The eggs were poached medium so the yolks weren't very runny, the English muffin was lightly toasted, and covered by finely chopped cooked spinach, cooked baby shrimp smothered in a hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise sauce was rich without being heavy, savory and lemony. It was the most flavourful hollandaise sauce I ever had. It was so delicious that I could have lucked the plate! This hollandaise sauce makes this benny. The smashed potatoes have crisp knarly edges that are soft inside, have a perfect texture contrast (great for dipping in the hollandaise) to the soft tender mouth feel of the eggs and shrimp. This dish is an epiphany. I would return for it again and again. The only mis-step to this culinary experience is the coffee. For $3.49 the coffee was your typical tasteless diner Joe. For this price I've had 49th parallel coffee at other diners. Next time I'll order something else to drink. I will consider White Spot for breakfast more often now.

Took 2hrs to get a seat then waited over 1hr for food. We had a party of 11 but they sat a party of 8 just ahead of us even thought we were there first. We ordered about 5min after them, they ate, drank, had dessert, opened gifts, and left before we got our food. Nothing was said to no discounts or apologies.

Service was extremely slow, had to wait a long time for our food. When asked the waiter, the reason was the burger is taking a long time.
The lasagnia was not good, and just felt like stacked sheets of pasta.

Food was typical White Spot -perfectly fine -but the service was abysmal. A same size party that arrived after us was seated before us. It took forever to bring my drink (my husband received his promptly) and when it finally came, it was incorrect even though it was a simple mixed drink from off the menu. The food was slow and the waiter disappeared. We would have ordered dessert, but got tired of waiting for him to take order so we just paid and left. It was a Saturday night so I understand it's busy, but come on, White Spot, be better.

I used to work for Whitespot and I always find myself coming back to the review sections of the restaurants I used to work for and I see it all one way toward the establishment and staff, So I thought I would copy and paste this rant I saved from a Facebook post I saw to pass on knowledge the other way around in the industry:

If you don’t tip 20 percent or more your server better have just about spit in your face! How can you work someone to the absolute bone (that makes less than min wage) and tip them chump change?

If you don’t plan on tipping I dare you to interject that before placing your order with your server so they are aware. If you don’t then you’re basically reaping the benefits of the gratuity system because your server is busting their a$$ in expectation of proper compensation and you’re not doing your part. Wether you’re against the system or not, you know that this is the system we all live by while eating out.

If you don’t make your protest before getting the expecting-tip-service and your making that protest by not leaving anything then your a douche bag. If you’re okay with being a douche bag than be okay with your server remembering who you are and then if you have the balls to come back to said establishment then they will put you at the bottom of their priority list with the millions of things they have to do.

Be okay with getting the service you pay for.

If you cant afford to tip for good service than GO TO A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT!

And remember that the kitchen staff receive a percentage of every single bill whether you leave anything or not. Generally 2 to 5 percent. So if you leave 10 or lower servers get about 5ish.

****PARENTS**** please teach your kids how to tip. Okay, if they’re like 15 we don’t expect a huge tip but a solid 15 percent for good service is doable. Please, the stigma of annoying cheap teenagers ends with you.

2 dollars is not a tip.

Oh and lastly, please use your noodle hard to really distinguish the difference between bad kitchen service and bad server service! If the kitchen takes a long time, it’s generally stressing us out more than you. If there’s a problem with your actual food let us sort it for you but we. Do. Not. Cook. Your. Food.

We love you, we want to do good by you, please, just please rise up and be good patrons.

Parking was a bit of a challenge but the curry coconut soup was a great treat. So good. The staff were super as was the food-made up for the parking!

Ordering take out, 9 times out of 10 the order is wrong. They also have your food ready around 15 minutes after they say they will so go late and prepare to go through every item you ordered. I get having a rough night but it's almost every single time.

The server was fantastic. Polite funny and excited service. The food was good. The fish and chips were a little greasy however the the flavor was great. Thank you for a nice afternoon.

Mediocre quality food served at inflated prices. If they're going to serve the same quality and presentation as Denny's the prices should be similar not double.

Good breakfast options; half orders available on request. A busy place on Sunday morning for the locals.

Traditional White Spot quality. Very friendly service. And there is lots to do and see in Kerrisdale.

Yesterday I went there for dinner with my son, he ordered a steak with fries and asked for the steak to be done "medium well". It came out to be bleeding, and we told the server to have it redone. She took the plate and returned with the sides. Turns out she microwaved the steak. Anyone with proper common sense should know that microwaving a steak would make it turn hard! What's worse was the steak indeed came back still BLEEDING! So he had a steak hard as stone on the outside, and bleeding in the inside. This branch definitely needs some better training of staffs.

Great variety, decently vegetarian friendly, (love their cauliflower appi!), great customer service.not a super long wait even during lunch hour (seating for 2 and also the food).

Starting to believe that asking the red seal journeyman cooks here for crispy fries is too much to ask. Wishing that the old White Spot experience from the good ol' days returned along with the cheesecake! That little puck they serve now sucks!

Great breakfast with reasonable price. If you prefer the potato like hash brown type, ask the waiter for shredded hash brown otherwise you will get the potato cube fries type.

I like the atmosphere and setting of this White Spot. Very cozy and warm, maybe because it is located at the West End. Food is good as usual.
