Michael has worked on my Simon & Patrick acoustic guitar and my Fender Strat FSR. Love the pro work that he has done on both guitar. You don't get the attention to details and finishing with other luthiers. I highly recommend him!

Mike did an really pro job of shaving down the fretboard of my incredibly rare Heritage mandolin. The job required removing the frets and reducing the height of the fingerboard near the pickguard to reduce "pick click" and I couldn't be happier with the result. The mando came back polished up and playing great. Thanks again Mike, I'll be back

Not only is mike a super cool dude but he is also a very skilled luthier, I took my Martin D35 into him to get a ding on the back of it fixed and it is now completely gone I was very impressed with his work he also buffed the whole back of the guitar and got other scratches out for the same price would highly recommend mikes work and will be taking any guitars I need fixing to him as well as recommending anyone who needs fixings to him. All in all don’t hesitate about taking your guitars into mike he’s great!

Mike Whitney is a highly trained and creative artisan of ukuleles. At least I can only speak for mine. When we first spoke about this ukulele, I had no idea what I was looking for. Mike quickly and easily pointed me in the right direction. From the sound, to hardiness, to colour, Mike helped me in every process with information and choices. The result was a beautiful work of art and sound. Songbird, as I call her, turned out far superior to anything I could have imagined, Not only is she well put together, but the details of Mike’s craftsmanship send the value of this instrument over the top! Much to my gleeful surprise, Mike finished her off with a beautiful abalone carving of a songbird in the shape of a Y. Amazing! He hand delivered my beauty in a luxury case and explained about maintenance and care. Every detail down to the tag and specs sheet was hand crafted and thoughtfully executed.
Mike is to be well paid for his craftsmanship.
I’ve been saving for awhile for this gem and well worth it!
I hope he changes his name to Whitney Guitars and Ukes!

Mike did a superb job in bringing my mandolin up to its full potential. It is such a pleasure to play now! Even my bandmates noticed the difference immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike’s work to anyone. A true master!

I took my two electric guitars in for a set-up, came back to basically pick up two new guitars! Mike had them gleaming, polished, oiled, intonation adjusted, pickups tweaked, my scratchy pots were buttery and silent, new strings too! Played them at home to find them sounding wayyyyy better which is what counts. Amazing job, super nice guy, highly recommend

Michael Whitney is one of the best luthiers I have ever come across. I have been very satisfied with the work that he has done for me. Whether it has been setting the action, putting in a pickup or general repair on my guitars, his work has always been clean and professional and gets things done in a timely manner. He also makes awesome gypsy guitars as well. All of the guitars that I have seen from him look very clean and professional with beautiful wood choices and embellishments. I brought two guitars to Mike for some TLC. One of them was a very unique 50 year old Brazilian acoustic that had been neglected for at least 30years. Mike was able to work his magic on it and make it look and sound as beautiful as the day it was made.
He completed the work fairly quickly and all for a very fair price. I will continue to trust Mike with my instruments and have already recommended to him to others.
