I've never met a better group of people in my life. These people care about this planet and give their time freely! Proud to be a part of it.

Unfortunately I think the low rated reviews might be true for this organization. I brought in an American crow who was still alive and responsive, with Avian pox on its leg. Not even 2 days after, I received the same generic automated response that it has passed away.

I would advise people to really think if they want to bring in unprotected species to this location, as they might just kill them.

We had a wonderful presentation to our Girl Guides from your representative. It was fun and informative. The girls really appreciated your time offered to our event. Thank you for all you do, from our Burnaby Lakes Girl Guides

They do great work - it's not easy. There are not enough rescue associations around so I admire the work that operators and volunteers put into it. It's been a while since our family has been involved - their summer camps were great. However, we plan on doing a symbolic adoption soon and encourage everyone to support them however they can. Keep up the great work.

We had a disowned crow in our lives for a few years, and last week, I found him in my backyard having a hard time. I took him for care, and unfortunately, they were not able to help him. He had possibly been hit by a car or a predator attack. The staff called me and let me know, and they were so sweet and kind.
We prayed we could brhim back home again, but he went to a new home

Grateful to this operation and the dedicated people who run it! I found an injured baby humming bird this morning and delivered it to their care. The intake was efficient and friendly. They even assigned a patient number so that I can reference for follow up. Thank you for providing this invaluable resource!

Somewhere to call when you see an animal or bird in distress but they probably could really use more people to volunteer.

Rescued a young seagull with a broken wing from traffic. Called them and they said to bring it in. They gave me a file number so I can call and check in on its recovery

Wow! The Wildlife Rescue Association is amazing! These people have so much compassion for wildlife. I brought in a pigeon that was run over by a car and they thanked me profusely and emailed me an update a week later. If you’re looking to support animals and wildlife in particular, this is the organization to donate to or get involved with.

I was able to drop off a broken baby crow quickly and easily. We look forward to hearing about the birds recovery.

This baby goose I brought in was in good health and the only issue was some of its feathers wrapped around her leg. It took a lot to catch her as well. We took her in and they were wanting to put her in a bucket that clearly was too small. I said no it needs a box. After insisting they put her in the box. We told them we could have removed it ourselves but theought it might need some antibiotics. After checking on her in a couple days got a generic email saying the bird died. Why? She was healthy! This is 100 percent failure of all the birds I have brought in. Not acceptable. I feel they just put them down as soon as they get there. If it had antibiotics it would take a few days to start working. I will think twice if I have find an injured bird again.

I wish I could recommend this organization. Unfortunately, I feel like they make decisions for animals based on their own priorities rather than the animals themselves.

I’ve brought several birds in with minor injuries and none have ever made it. Most recently, two young American robins. I had to keep these two for 24 hours. They were eating, pooping, and sleeping normally. I brought them in in great condition only be told the “animal’s conditions were beyond our ability to help and we are saddened to inform you that they have passed away”. It was a pretty automated response and, having rehabbed many birds of all ages myself, I don’t believe that they were beyond saving for a minute.

My one wish is that I would have just kept this last sweet, healthy pair and rehabbed them myself. If you have *any* other option for rescue, exercise it. They will likely euthanize the birds you bring to them.

Had to call this morning regarding a Mother Goose and her offspring. A small Gosling was in our parking lot and the Mother was distressed. We call WRAof B. C.and they were very helpful but it took so long to get assistance because there are very few volunteers with the skills to handle these types of situations.
I was so disturbed and disgusted to think that these wonderful people who do so much receive no funding or very little.
I am contacting my MLA to find our how I can help to advocate for funding from the Provincial Government for this great service to our Province.

The care and love they demonstrate goes far beyond hope. They are saviours, quite literally.

This morning we found a raven with an injured wing. Crows were swooping at it, and we live next to a busy road. We kept an eye on it for a few hours - when it was clear the bird was in distress and nothing was going to change, we decided to take action. While WRA didn't pick up the phone initially, their automated voice recording was very helpful with advice on what to do. We were able to capture the bird after a brief chase (took four adults armed with towels and a cat carrier). They called us back quickly afterwards, and confirmed we could bring the bird in even though it was getting close to their closing hours. We set the raven up in a uhaul box with some fleece, and took him in. Two members came out immediately and helped us out, even though we arrived a bit after they closed. They were welcoming and helpful, and we will definitely be checking in on the raven later.

Please call this organization if you see an injured or orphaned wildlife
Also this is an amazing place to donate or volunteer. You will learn so much about birds of BC, and you get to help these beautiful birds return back to wildlife. The staff are very caring and compassionate, and they do their best to make sure the birds in care are getting the best treatments and that they get ready to be released back to wild as soon as they're recovered.

I brought them a fledgling tree swallow that was grounded and unable to fly outside of its nest. I'm sure they took care of the little bird the best the could, with better care then I could provide. My only complaint is that I wish I knew if the bird survived or not.

I realize that my closure about the baby bird is probably not more important than caring for new arrivals, but I won't stop wondering if it made it.

I phoned twice to inquire about the bird, the second time I was asked for my email which I left with them.

I feel attached to it, probably because I was watching over their nest in a poor location at work for weeks, even placing a little baby back into the nest after it had fallen. Two babies successfully fledged and the third I had to bring to the wildlife rescue.

I super hope the little swallow made it.

Thank you for the care I'm sure you provided it.

They even have a nice place to leave Birds who are in trouble if you are before or after hours, complete with little heating pads if they are too young.

Very responsive by email. Our cat caught a darker eyed junco, I was able to bring it in without judgement. Very smooth I take process. I hope they can save it

My son found an injured bird in our backyard on the weekend, and he called this place and took care of that bird the same day and asked us to deliver there. They will look after that bird to save it for sure—an excellent place to protect nature. Thanks a lot for your help.

I was very impressed with the professionalism and advise. A Seagul got stranded on my balcony which had glass windows. I called wildlife rescue and can’t remember the name of the person I spoke to but she was very helpful. She advise that I put a sheet or blanket over the glass balcony where the bird was and within a minute the Seagul found it’s direction of flight. Thank you so much for your advise Keep up the good work
