Absolutely an amazing experience brought upon by Warren Chow and his team at Wildlight Kitchen a of all, the setting is very spacious, clean and the ambience is very comforting.

The servers at this restraunt are polite, charismatic and make you feel like you feel very welcomed. They are knowledgable with the food menu and amazing with their recommendations.
We came for a birthday celebration, was greeted with sparking wine and seated at a very spacious table. We had the oyster motoyaki which was unbelievably flavourful and tasty. The oysters were thick and creamy with the right balance of texture and sauce. The chicken wings were very meaty and packed with a lot of flavor, highly recommend as starters.

The main courses we had were the risotto, fraser valley duck and the strip loin. You cannot go wrong with any of these choices. The meats were cooked to perfection and the vegetable/sides complimented the mains very well. The risotto was seasoned very well, we really enjoyed the amount of lobster.

The dessert menu was abundant, well put together and would cater to any style and tastebuds one may have.

All in all, if I could give this restaurant a higher rating I would, but we will settle for 5 stars for now. Highly recommend Wildlight for any occasion as kitchen team and front staff are highly skilled and will make you itching to come back and book for the next time. Thank you Wildlight team!

Excellent food and environment for surprisingly affordable prices. I would go back just for the happy hour, but the tasting boards and fish are great as well.

We decided to try brunch at Wildlight and was pleasantly surprised.
The decor and colours are welcoming and seating on the gray cloth benches were very comfortable.
Mimosas were great but I was surprised that my coffee wasn't topped up.
I loved my crab cake benedict but would have much preferred roasted potatoes over a pretty potato 'bar'.
We also loved the fluffy pancakes with blueberries and lemon curd and the chicken and waffles. Yum!
It was so lovely that I was offered a complimentary dessert for my birthday.
Overall, the service was great and the food was pretty delicious.
We will be back to dinner soon.

So happy to have another restaurant option in this area that has great food and and friendly service. I'm sure as things get going, the staff will figure out seat numbers and so there's a slight potential room for improvement there in bringing the food to the table to the right guest. We were a group of five and were very comfortable and very well attended. And even though we were having a great time with happy hour snacks, this place also manages to be a place you could have a quieter dinner too. No complaints so far. I preferred the fresh oysters over the motoyaki (which is actually closer to an oysters Rockerfeller in my opinion with the breadcrumbs. I would have preferred the broiled mayo. I was reflecting and wondering why it wasn't to my taste as much but still not sure why - I liked the idea of the seaweed salad and the creativity). Mussels were great! I tried the chicken wings, truffle fries, shisito peppers, tempura mushrooms, flatbread, and the sablefish main. Desserts were good too. Thanks, Wildlight!

Nice new decor. Service was very slow considering there were only 4 tables occupied in the place - 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee, 20 minutes to get food. This may have been due to having what appeared to be only one server on duty, but they did have four or five 'management' types wandering around doing nothing. The fare wasn't real healthy as the menu was what I'd describe as expensive burgers and fries - lunch for two with one cup of coffee was over $70.

The presentation of the dishes was truly amazing, and it was evident that the restaurant uses fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. The flavours were perfectly balanced, and the menu offered a great combination of share plates and individual portions. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the seacuterie platter, which was divine in every way.

Overall, it was one of the best meals we have had in Vancouver, and we would like to give kudos to Chef Warren and his team for their outstanding work.

By far the best dining experience I’ve had in a LONG time. The staff were so personable and attentive. The food was beyond amazing and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. We had the pescatarian charcuterie board and the oyster motoyaki starters which were to DIE for! I don’t even like oysters and I ate 2. Then I had the seared HOKKAIDO scallops with the lobster risotto which again was amazing. Other folks had the steak frites and the celeriac agnolotti which they also really enjoyed. Followed by the dessert platter was the perfect meal.
Thank you Wildlight staff for an amazing experience.

We had a great lunch at Wildlight. Enjoyed trying several different dishes. The best part was the sommelier who was able to recommend the perfect wines. I'd go back just for that reason alone. The food and service was a bonus.

WILDLIGHT KITCHEN & BAR, University boulevard, UBC
My friend Anne suggested we try out a new to the neighborhood restaurant in the UBC area on a lovely sunny Saturday, as opposed to my pick, which would have been far more mundane fare at some other venue…From her perspective, it was literally mere minutes away…It is set amongst some other cool new and interesting looking buildings at an up and coming location I had never been to…As per usual, once again, her intuition was spot on and Wildlight Kitchen was the perfect choice…It could not possibly have been more convenient to get here, slightly removed from a lot of the hubbub of the main campus, with convenient underground parking, for which your server can validate when it comes time to pay your bill…We arrived there before all the many patrons with reservations were due to show up… so surprisingly, we were quickly seated by the very professional and courteous maître d’ and ended up in a comfortable booth with privacy from other customers provided by some glass panels at head height, other than immediately beside us. I really liked the scale of the space and vast amount of light flooding into the restaurant from the abundance of windows and very highly vaulted ceilings and heavy timber beams. We had a perfect sight line to take in the juxtaposition of all the colours and textures in the various wallpapers, feature walls, tiles, woodwork and curvy, organic light fixtures…I appreciated the jewelry like feel to the polished stainless like Hvac systems up near the metal roof as opposed to competitor’s use of a more muted and typical flat black look. The whole space was very modern, with a hint of an industrial feel, but not cold. The copper and other colours in the interior made It feel cozy and warm to me…
Our server provided us with his recommendations and quickly brought us a glass of wine and a deliciously crisp prune cider to start. We enjoyed one of their flat breads and a wildlight burger with the best truffle fries that I’ve ever eaten, as our meals. We were looked after by our server very well, including topping up our fresh, cool table water in an ongoing basis. Our maître d’ even dropped by to see how we were faring…We were never left wanting for anything. Our dishes were absolutely delicious, and left us without one ounce of room for dessert. I guess we’ll have to explore those options during another visit in the future. As well, the open, airy patio looks to be a very inviting space to try out this spring, with fans and heat ready to go…once the chairs arrive. Thanks so much for a lovely place to spend some time WILDLIGHT, we’ll be back without a doubt!

We decided to check out Wildlight after a strong recommendation from one of our close friends. In all honesty, the food and drinks were amazing. We had their chicken wings, sablefish, salad and a few glasses of wine each and all said to each other after that we would absolutely come back and recommend this spot to our friends. The service was also on point from the hostess to the server and even to the manager/sommelier all made certain that we had an enjoyable experience. You must try this place!

The food and ambience are incredible. The service staff are super attentive and lovely. The menu had a really great variety and utilizes a lot of local ingredients. The price point per dish is also quite reasonable for the quality of the food.

Great first time checking out this restaurant
Wildlight has an amazing wine selection and food to pair. The pescatarian board was something I had never seen before and really delicious. Duck was cooked superbly, will be back to try some more!

Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, and excellent service. All staff were highly professional. The oysters were very fresh and the hamburger tasted like if it was handmade with care. The restaurant had decent atmospheric music and great architecture. I would highly recommend this restaurant will certainly be returning.

Wildlight Kitchen + Bar is pretty good place! The design of the restaurant is great and inviting.

For the food:
- The seafood fettuccine was amazing and definitely a 5/5 dish. The white wine cream sauce was divine.
- The farmcrest chicken was a 3.5/5. The chicken was paired well with the mustard seed jus. The seasonal vegetables were great and fresh. But, the lemon and thyme polenta had an odd, overpowering, and acquired taste that I did not like too much. I think switching the polenta for a mashed potato would elevate the dish to a 5/5.
- The Wildlight burger was a 2/5. This dish’s saving grace were the delicious and perfectly made fries. The burger itself was dry and tasted depleted (and to clarify, this does not have anything to do with the fact that it is dry-aged). The server asked for our feedback, apologized for the dryness, seemed to sincerely take it back to the kitchen, and kindly removed the burger from the bill.

The service was great and the timing of the food was good as well. I think this will definitely be the UBC area’s next great stop with some tweaks.
