Jeremy is always helpful, from recommendations for amazing sausages for a bbq, to the marinated chicken, I always leave knowing what I purchased will be amazing.

The friendly and very knowledgeable staff, are there to help, with excellent service. We love that Windsor Meats is a big supporter of local brands! My rating is based on an associate who has a very unprofessional and disrespectful demeanor for working in an environment that requires interaction with the public on service and quality. With the price of meats today the sales per person can be quite high and when we get short, curt and unprofessional service it makes the customer feel like their patronage is unwanted and undesirable, so that is exactly what we can do. Find some place else that has associates working for them that enjoys having customers, no matter what time of the day it is!

I was tasked with preparing the meat for Christmas dinner with my girlfriends family this year. Wanting to make a solid and lasting impression, I decided it would be in my best interest to head to my local butcher and grab something impressive. Eyeing up the case, I decided a prime rib roast would do the trick. Certainly her parents and siblings would be in awe as I pulled such a magnificent joint from the oven, “he’s a real keeper! ” Etc Etc. “Rib roast please, 2 bones! ” I said across the counter. One of the butchers said he had the perfect roast already cut in the back, and rushed off to get it. Well when he came back with what I’m sure was a truly fabulous cut of premium beef it hit me, I couldn’t afford it. (This is not a complaint by any means, we all know in this day and age that quality meat comes at a premium price to offset the environmental and economic impacts necessary to yield an ethically raised and delicious product.) I was a little embarrassed as I explained that I hadn’t checked the price tag before making my request, and that I couldn’t actually afford the roast. The butchers were extremely kind about the situation, and resisting the urge to poke fun at me for imagining myself as the kind of person who could casually purchase prime rib for my girlfriends family helped me choose a new roast within my price range. We ended up choosing a sirloin top roast. Modest, but effective. They gave me some extra fat trim and twine free of charge, so I could secure the extra fat to the roast to assist in moisture retention and overall tastiness. A thoughtful and practical gesture. The roast came out moist and delicious, and though I initially had my heart set on a rib roast, with the help of the Windsor meats staff I was able to provide an exceptional meat course for my girlfriends family Christmas dinner, securing the approval of the family for at least another year. (5 stars.)

Placed an order over the phone for an uncooked ham and black pudding

Order couldn’t be found when I went to pick up and had to be prepared on the spot.

Staff didn’t realize there was a difference between blood sausage and black pudding (even though I confirmed their understanding when placing the order that I wanted black pudding and not blood sausage).

The staff were clearly frustrated and quite curt with me and borderline bickering with each other. It didn’t seem to be directed at me so I didn’t mind so much but it was embarrassing to witness.

Ended up leaving with nothing that I asked for. I wanted black pudding and an uncooked/unseasoned ham and got a partially-cooked, smoked 3kg ham for 47$ and no black pudding.

I decided to come here to Windsor meats during pregnancy to try and mediate the possibility of getting food poisoning as it can be very serious in pregnancy. I have previously expressed concern in store about staff during covid half wearing masks in store and putting the mask back on whilst wearing gloves and failing to change the glove before touching the meat, this happened a few times before I had to say something, the staff obliged to change their gloves before handling the produce, and were polite about it so I continued to go there. I purchased a chipotle lime chicken skewer yesterday and ate it the next day, it was fully cooked, and I got food poisoning from it. This is a result of improper handling of food and cross contamination.
Edit: The GM called me this morning to rectify the situation and ensure that next steps and further training will be taken for all staff at this location, I’m happy and comfortable with how the situation is being handled by management

Can’t find a harder working staff that is as consistent, knowledgeable, and friendly! Having shopped at each of their locations over the years, their selection and quality ceases to amaze me. Roast chicken and roast beef are ever crowd pleasers in our family. Thank you for your service, and maintaining such high standards in working tirelessly through tough times. Highly recommend!

I thought I would try the other butcher shop on the block and I found the staff to be very unpleasant and pushy. I was the only person in the store and they both kept pressing me for some reason. I bought some steaks, some sausages and some chicken. It was insanely overpriced and adding insult to injury when I pressed what I had expected to be "chequing" on the terminal was actually "Tip 15%". Tip the butcher? Are you insane? The fact I'm coming into the store and paying over the odds for subpar meat is enough. I was shocked. The woman said flippantly "we can refund the transaction and take it off if you want". I said no thank you because I knew I would never be back. The meat was poor for the price and the selection was a arrogant.

Go to the other butcher, just a few doors down across the street.

Recently was by and noticed that the employees were not wearing gloves while handling product. Wouldn't recommend shopping here. There's better up the street.

This place always has something interesting to try. Alligator sausage? Sure why not! Kangaroo sausage? Give it a go!

Had wild boar chops from here tonight and have to say they were the best chops I EVER had.
Have been here a couple times now and am completely satisfied with the service and the products here.

This is the butcher closest to where I live. Not only do I like them because they are in my neighbourhood, but the staff really know what they are talking about. Over the years, I have purchased many things in the store. Recently, I have started buying their freezer packs of meats. I definitely recommend these as I think they are really good value.

Went in today to buy tenderloin steaks, the lady was just about to grab them and the other lady said “nnnnnnope” someone just called in and they are taking that. No one else was in the store I was shocked they would take a phone order over someone in store. I left and won’t be returning back.

My local butcher and I can't rave enough about the quality of meat and the excellent service. Best butcher I have ever had.

Their pepperoni selection is pretty good but it's pricey. We also bought a couple of small grass fed rib eye steaks for about $13 each. I have never had worst quality of beef in my life, nor paid such a premium. They were so tough, it was barely edible. We specifically went to buy meat there as we thought it would be better quality then what we would find at the grocery store next door, and we celebrating our anniversary so wanted to splurge and even bought a nice bottle of wine to go with the steak. The meat was such an incredible disappointment it kind of ruined the evening because I didn't even eat it because the meat was so tough.

Have been a regular customer for years and they are the Best butcher around Kind/helpful/honest/funny staff, great meat/products, fair prices, super clean and a strong community minded place.

Hands down the greatest butcher in town for high quality meats! The staff are amazing people who always treat you with respect and provide excellent service. Also, the prices are extremely fair for what you get. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

I was disappointed to find out their grass fed ribeye is from Australia.literally the other side of the planet. Won’t be going back

The bacon was good but my chicken thighs went bad in the fridge by Monday when I purchased on Saturday afternoon: (typically chicken could be expected to last 2 days in the fridge.

Great butcher's, good service, bought a lovely piece of lamb for a roast, nice local butcher's.

Everything here was so delicious. Some of the best bacon I've ever had. Chicken was so flavourful and juicy.

Having recently decided to eat a small amount of meat again, after 11 years as a vegetarian, I feel fortunate to live near Windsor Meats. The staff here is knowledgeable, extremely helpful and friendly- it feels like a good, community establishment.

The meat is fantastic. It’s so flavourful, and much of it is sourced from local farms. I don’t agree with the ethics of some farming/butchering practices, but Windsor Meats seems to ensure they’re suplying quality meat from happy and healthy animals. While the prices aren’t ‘grocery store cheap’, I am willing to pay extra for a delicious, and ethical product!
