This is great place to come and try your hand at paddleboarding (or other water sports). The staff are friendly, helpful, and meet you where you're at - even if this is your first time trying out paddleboarding. Also can't say enough about the owner, Sophie, and how much she cares about the local community, and giving back.

I also took SUP with Drew Climie, who's an awesome instructor. He's experienced, knowledgeable - and more importantly, knows how to effectively teach to people with multiple levels of experience.

Highly recommend Windsure if you're in town, or even if you're just visiting.

Excellent class of windsurf. The instructor, Lucas was very good and fun. We spent most of the time on the water with very practical advice. We got to do tacking and jybing in the first class. I recommend this class to everyone who feels comfortable in the ocean. It’s very very fun and easy to learn! And this is the best place to learn windsurf!

I scheduled two 1 hour private beginner SUP lessons about a month apart (with Drew). Was amazing! No regrets and nothing negative to say.

This was our 3rd time paddling within the past month and each time we have been treated exceptionally well when we check in and check out.

I’ve taken two windsurfing lessons and rented equipment from Windsure - would highly recommend! Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

This was mine and my fiancé first time paddle boarding and Lucas was a great teacher. The lesson covered the bases and we were proud to have stood up on the board in the non-begginer conditions. We have been considering purchasing a board of our own and the lesson only futhered that desire.

Had a great time with my gf on the level 1 windsurfing course. Our instructor was helpful and taught me how to get going pretty quickly. I would absolutely come back here for my level 2 and I recommend coming here if you're interested in learning the sport.

Our tween son had a fantastic week with the Windsure camp. His camp leader, William, was excellent - patient, encouraging and fun. The mix of skim boarding and paddle boarding meant it was engaging and exciting, and the games they played also complimented the skills development for the boards. While driving home three of the buddies after the camp finished, they all agreed it was one of the best camps they’ve been to. Highly recommend this for your kids!

We are a French-speaking daycare service and came for our summer camps with 50 children. There were life jackets and paddle boards for all the children and even the educators. The team was professional from start to finish.
Before going out on the water, a member of the team explained the safety rules to all the children. When we were on the water, Windsure Adventure Watersports staff helped children who had difficulty paddling (kindergarten). I 100% recommend this paddle company. A little plus, the view is magnificent and some of the staff speak French. We'll definitely be back.

Windsure is my favorite place for SUP rentals in Vancouver. They are 5 stars on equipment, friendliness, safety and convenience. They give you some quick tips before setting out and offer lessons. The location is unbeatable and there's always lots of activity around to keep it entertaining.

I had a great experience today with Sophie and the Windsure crew. I took a beginners stand up paddleboard class and loved every minute. I appreciate that Sophie asked everyone in the class for our pronouns, making this a safer space for everyone, and she acknowledged that we were on unceded, Coast Salish territory, locating us in this moment and place in time. The class was really fun, easy to understand, with lots of clear instruction. It was great getting out on the water, getting to practice all of our techniques and having a friendly, close encounter with a local seal. I am walking away with a lot of confidence and a deeper interest in the sport. Overall a great experience!

4 star only because I never give 5 star. Very easy to book our requirements of 2 boards for 1 hr.fortunately for us their Monday rate was 2 hr.for the price of 1hr. Gave us a refresher lesson before letting us enter the water along with all the safety gear they supplied. Had a wonderful time.

A very fun first windsurfing experience. There were 3 of us in the group so had great one on one instruction. Our instructor was very thorough and entertaining. The administration staff was very kind and helpful. I hoped for more wind but no-one has any control over that. I will go back for a follow up lesson

I loved this place. Great bunch of friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable people working there. Amazing location and great value. I can't think of anywhere else I have been that had such a great combination of natural beauty, great vibes, and opportunity to learn or just have fun that still feels very much open to all!

The staff was great and accommodating. We also lucked out with good weather and the water was relatively calm.

A group of us did not realized we have to book in advance to paddle board. But due to the amazing staff, they managed to get us on. They been very helpful and extending the time due to the fact that everyone of us needs to complete a waiver which takes so much time on the iPad. Overall a great experience and great job everyone on the team!

Love the little private enclosure for paddle boarders and kayakers at the sailing centre! Been coming here for years. Their 2-for-1 hour deal is great

Perfect location to paddle board and any other water activities. A few steps away, is also for swimming, so me and my friend got to paddle board and at the same time swim. We are going back again!

I had an annual windsurfer pass and I can highly recommend Windsure to anyone interested in being on the water, having fun and being helped by incredible, knowledgable staff. You have all the equipment you need there and everybody will help you if you get stuck with anything. I did have a previous sailing experience but make sure you take a few lessons, instructors are very good and it will help you fall in love with the sport faster (it will feel like less of a workout ;). Weekends tend to be more busy so make sure you get there a little sooner so you have time to set everything up. Winds are pretty nice in the area so you can experience all different sorts of conditions

Regarding windsurf, it is not the best place to rent if you are already more experienced. I can do the waterstart very easily and get planing, I usually use a small board at home. I was very excited because finally today it was apparently windy enough. Personnel is very nice, but the gear they have is not adequate for advanced windsurfers. Very small variety of boards with footstraps. I could only choose 2 options: 102L, 125L. I went for the smaller one. I had already sailed on this size, but the board was a bit old fashioned, too narrow, too long. There was only 1 available harness size SM with "regular" hook. I was offered just 2 options of sails with harness lines: 4.0 and 5.0. The rest just didn't have harness lines. I went for the 5.0. The harness lines couldn't be regulated, just one length, too short to be able to use them. The sail was incredible heavy. I have also used sails larger than that, but this one was the heaviest without any doubt, very difficult to take it out of the water. In summary, it was impossible to sail with that gear. Personnel tried to help me and do their best, I just wish I would have known before paying what kind of equipment they had. I just assumed they would have more variety, updated gear and adapted to all levels like in other places I've been before. I guess that Jericho Beach may not the best spot for experienced sailers, therefore they are not well prepared for that. Probably the place is adequate for beginners and to rent for other sports, but not if you have more experience in windsurfing.

We had a great SUP lesson with Jonathan. He was very patient and helpful and emphasized on the water safety. Once launched he took the time to answer questions and help each person individually. The age of the 7 students ranged from 11yr to 75yr and was good with all of us. It was a fun experience and we learned a lot of skills.

I am not very active so I was a little hesitant to try SUP. I am so glad that I went because it was so fun!
Firstly, the staff are nice and helpful. They will help you with finding the right size life jacket and paddle. Also, the staff gave us a tutorial before going out. I didn't feel unsafe and felt like I could ask additional questions.
Second, it's bang for the buck! There are certain days of the week where if you rent one hour, the second hour is free!
Third, I SAW A SEAL and it was super relaxing.

If you are looking to be active, this is a great business to go support! If you're new like me to SUP, stay close to the shore so the water is less choppy! I've now gone SUP 3 times in the last three weeks and will be visiting again soon!

Thanks to Rodrigo and the team for a very engaging and well-taught introductory paddle boarding lesson! I learned a lot and would highly recommend the lesson for anyone hoping to develop some solid fundamentals before they rent.

My 2 kids came here for private SUP lesson today. Lucas was their teacher and he was amazing! Kids had a blast and he was fun! Prior to class, he made sure they had sunscreen on. He got them going by asking them to race. Awesome strategy to get the kids engaged! He even gave us a couple of technical tips to get our boards to go straight! Definitely recommend Windsure and Lucas!

Best windsurfing/paddleboarding school in Canada, amazing staff with lot of knowledge, no exuses to start a new watersport!

My almost 12 year old son has never had any water sport experience. He did the 5 day full day windsurfing/SUP camp and absolutely loved it. Everyday he comes home proud, happy and covered in sand. Highly recommend.

I took a SUP lesson for beginners.

Instructor gave me detailed explanation about correct technique, safety instructions and helped to practice it.

Now I am ready to rent SUP and swim on my own.
Everything is perfect!

The staff at Windsure are very helpful, and will go the extra mile to make your experience as pleasant, safe and enjoyable as can be. Such a nice beach setting with great views.
The choice and supply of equipment is large and the quality of the equipment is very good. They give good value as I paid for 2 hours but the wind died so they only charged me for one hour. Definitely going back

Just completed an intro windsurfing course, with instructor Bernard. The folks at Windsure were friendly and efficient. The course was a good balance of theory (wind, gear, technique) and practical (on the water, in the water). Everyone in the class mastered the basics and we all came away wanting to do it again (quite an accomplishment for a group of newbies). I’ll definitely be back for the second course.

Came here on vacation and I booked time out of my trip to come here. While booking my reservation the website said nothing about how I needed to know how to windsurf. They cancelled my booking when I showed up and lost time on my vacation and a 50$ Uber to get there. Thanks for nothing

I registered my son here for one of their paddle boarding summer camps. I thought that when paying $250 for 15 hours of instruction or camp that they would spend the majority of time in the water learning to paddle board. Of the 15 hours I’m being generous in saying that they spent 7 hours. They were understaffed and at pick up and drop off it was a gong show. The last day they didn’t even enter the water but rather opted to play field games. I thought that I was enrolling him in a specialty camp but it turned out to be nothing like that. If I wanted him to be in a day camp I would have registered him in one. For much less money and more hours. I also wrote a letter to voice my concerns but have not heard back. We will not be attending again.

Great selection of inflatable boards for rental (Red Paddle Co.). I went for the hard board option initially but I wasn't given a board to match my weight (or maybe it was my ability). After a couple of trials the rep defaulted to a 14' inflatable which worked.
Online booking was seamless process.

I’ve rented windsurfing gear and paddles boards many times from Windsure and each time the staff has been knowledgeable and helpful. Beautiful location and reasonable rentals rates to enjoy self-powered water sports on English Bay.

Took a Covid-safe Windsurfing lesson with these folks last year and have been happily renting from them ever since!
They have a very organized system, thorough and encouraging instructors and laid-back staff really contributing to the full beach-day experience!
Highly recommend taking a Windsure windsurfing course if you are an adventure seeker or enjoy trying new things. The course is a bit expensive, but worth the price and the reasonable rental prices will certainly make up for the initial cost!

I went paddleboarding with some friends as a complete beginner and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend this place enough if you wanted to spend the afternoon doing a new water activity!

I love windsure! I took a Windsurfing 1 class and rented stand up paddle boards a couple of times. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, and the views are unbeatable. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back for Windsurfing 2, and try some of the specialty stand up paddle board programs!

Had an awesome time paddleboarding last summer, a great outdoor activity to be on the water! However, next time i do it I'll definitely take a look at the waves and tide first, it was quite turbulent out there so I spent a lot of time sitting on the board, whereas I really want to stand: P anyways, people who work here are really friendly and the price is really affordable. Would recommend.

My son, 13 years old, and his friend enjoyed their introduction into Windsurfing in summer 2019 thanks to knowledgable and encouraging instructors and the "good vibe" feeling spread by the Windsure team, from administration, communication, rental to instruction. As the one who registered my son, I found the booking easy, and staff was friendly and accommodating with regard to follow-up questions or request for changes. We will be back! Christine

Gear and facilities where amazing. The location it is stunning and makes you feel like you have left Vancouver to go somewhere more southern:).

The best covid-friendly distanced summer activity that Vancouver has to offer. Staff are very friendly and provide great tips. Can't wait to be back for some windsurfing and paddle-boarding this summer!

I took a windsurfing lesson there last summer. I wish I had done it sooner. The instructor was great and we were able to have fun. I would definitely try to get more friends to join us this season. The staff there are all very nice too.

Did a family SUP lesson last September 2020 - great experience overall. Instructor made it easy to learn the skills and made it a great afternoon out for the whole family.

Had a great experience with Jeff learning windsurfing. Very clear instructions, very good advice, geared towards building confidence. Price is reasonable and windsurfing is fun!

During summer camp my 12 yr old got stranded out on the water, not a teacher in sight. She had to be rescued by her classmates, most of whom were younger. I contacted Windsure & they haven’t gotten back to me. Unsafe for children.

The website induces to believe they are open. The phone message says they are open, and the automatic reply on facebook messenger says they are open. But they were closed. And communicated on Saturday evening, with enough delay to make me go there and found it by myself.
