Won More Szechuan Cuisine

I'm wondering if Won More has checked how poor their rating and reviews have become for the past 6 months since changing ownership as they clearly need to re-evaluate their business operations. After an hour of waiting for our order with no sign of it coming, I called Won More and was told that they weren't sending out orders due to their technical issues. It would make the most sense to let (very hungry) people know the problem right away so they could order elsewhere, but they showed absolutely no accountability and just blamed "the system". Call your customers back to say something instead of leaving them hanging! I won't be ordering from here again as it's clearly managed improperly and I won't chance an event like this ever happening again. I clearly don't won more.

Woke up today with classic food poisoning symptoms, which I won't detail, but it's bad. Been sick all day.

My friend and I have been going there for years, but something about the food has changed. We ate there in August and had upset stomachs the next day, but we attributed it to just bad luck because Won More's food has always been so good and reliable. Last night, I ate there again and now I am truly sick.

I came to these reviews and found out it's under new ownership. Something is not right about this restaurant's food quality anymore. I will not be eating there again, and I've been a loyal customer for 10+ years.

The only positive thing about Won More is that they are not intentionally defrauding customers, because the new owners know nothing about Szechuan style Chinese cuisine. I ordered Twice Cooked Pork, a reference dish which most every Chinese restaurant offers. The menu shows a spicy chili symbol. I received "barbecued pork" with sugar syrup poured on top. The other half of my order they forgot. Obviously the 1st family that owned Won More has retired. Now its poor quality Guangdong (formerly Canton) style.

Best Chinese food in Vancouver with an extensive amount of flavors. Been going here for 20+ years. Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to experience the real deal. The original chef is retiring and he cooks the best

We had a great takeout experience! The food was delicious and hot and everyone in my family loved it, even the picky eaters! The potstickers were especially good! The customer service was great as well - we had plates and utensils and everything that was needed. Thank you!

I have to edit my formerly good review. We ordered the Wor Wonton Soup and Chicken Fried Noodle. The wontons in the soup were slimy and the fish/meat tasted "off". I wish I could say the chicken fried noodle was good but this couldn't have been more tasteless and boring. The food at Won More used to be so good I'm really disappointed it's been getting worse and now I will never return.

Got the honey garlic spare ribs. They were absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous.

Vegetarian stir fry was the best I've ever had. The shredded chicken rice and fried won tons were delicious too. The only thing I didn't really care for was the spring rolls, they were a bit greasy. My kids loved the sweet and sour chicken. The staff was super! If eating in, call ahead and reserve a table.

Been coming here for years! Best Sze Szechuan food I've had.
Not a five star atmosphere, but GREAT food!
Look out for the jalapeño in the salt and pepper prawns, spicy, but delicious!

Ultimately a 5 star experience. No complaints. Freindly service. Delicious food. Cozy atmosphere.

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews but the food was horrible! Green beans were old and stringy, egg foo yonge was all bean sprouts with just a touch if egg. I had to actually fry up 5 eggs and add to the bean sprouts to make it a meal. Rice was really over cooked and the fried rice was blend steamed rice mixed with a few shrimp but with no taste.

I have been eating at Won More for over a decade. I had family dinners here as a child and now I love to order takeout.

These folks are super hard working and move fast to service all their customers. If you want to be pampered this is not the spot for you.

I don’t mind eating in the restaurant but it’s far from glamours. In the past 5 years I have always chosen takeout.

Food portions are large and quality is consistent. I love the giant wok at the front of the restaurant!

I normally order a lot of food for family dinners (around $100) and delivery is free.

Amazing food and excellent fast, hot delivery. We've been ordering from Won More for almost a decade, we had to say goodbye today because we are moving, it feels like we are leaving family. Every time our own family comes to visit this is the one place they want to have food from.
The food is always fresh, delicious, and we've never once in 9 years had an order mix up. The delivery is always fast, and the food is actually hot, not just warm.

Just got takeout from here b/c I felt like old school Canadian-Chinese food & the reviews were good. Unfortunately the food was super bland. Will not order again.

Had the worst customer service here!

When called to say the order was wrong, I was told with a very rude tone that It was my fault the order was wrong.
When in fact I have been ordering from them these past two weeks, SAME order, but apparently now they would never make that and I must’ve been ordering from somewhere else.

Told me she can’t add black bean sauce to fried noodles… very weird.

This is the freshest most delicious Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life. If I could give more stars I would. I have tried many other places and nothing even comes close. A true gem. Highly recommend!

Always great. Love the duck noodles and rock salt prawns. Sometimes I'm lazy and order delivery but I prefer to walk over and feel the heat of the wok flaming my meal. Thanks guys.

A west end gem - been ordering here for years they are super fast and the best Chinese downtown. Everyone I know in the west end orders here - you can call them direct (no Uber eats) they are fast and the food is tasty soI order the War Won Ton every single time even if I’m not eating it that day, it is JAM packed with stuff and is such a great deal. Have had everything on the menu they aren’t stingy with anything. Try them out!

This place rules- fast, great service, very fresh food. Their long beans and eggplant dishes are my favourites, and their fried rice is my go-to comfort meal. It's packed with freshly cut veg. This place punches way above its weight

The chicken was awful. Tasted bad after eating only one. Threw it out and I had a tummy ache soon after. Shrimp and pork fried rice ok, no soy sauce included. Hot and sour soup had huge chunks of green chilies, not cut up at all. And it was meh. Not pleased.

Truly, my fav Chinese restaurant in Vancouver. For those who remember, the same flavours as Paul's Deep Sea in Toronto of the 1970s. Wow. Awesome! And the chef is a genius. Thank you.

The meat was extremely rubbery and the breading was pretty much deteriorated. I think it had been sitting around all day, possibly longer. (sweet and sour pork, takeout) Imagine paying for what's been sitting in a buffet tray all day after the restaurant closes at 8pm. The veg with it was fresh, so I guess they added veg in when I ordered it. Quantity was okay, but not enough to make up for the poor quality. This was around two hours before closing time.

I just received my food and my partner and I threw both our dishes in the bin immediately. I ordered the bbq duck vermicelli in soup and he got the bbq duck noodle. There was 2 pieces of edible duck in my meal and all the rest was bone and skin so was put off immediately. Have all photos to prove but no option to post the photos on here. EW! Both dishes were so bland and the duck was not bbq flavored at all. So dissatisfied and disappointed. The only nice thing to come out of the meal was the fortune cookie! Expensive fortune cookie that’s for sure.

Well this is disapppointing! I've been ordering from here for more than 15 years. I was really looking forward to enjoying their food over the weekend, so I placed a large order. The deep fried prawns are barely fried - the batter is pale & soggy. The fried noodles are hardly fried & there's more bean sprouts than noodles. The most depressing is the shrimp fried rice which I love - it wasn't fried in sesame seed oil the way it usually is - none of that nice smoky flavour that goes so well with what is now just bland rice with some shrimp thrown into it. Definitely not up to normal standards. What a disappointing start to my weekend. If I get another order this bad I won't be coming back & it's going to be a long time before I place another large order - it's too expensive to order food that arrives this poorly prepared.

The food was excellent but we all got upset stomachs after we ate. One person didn’t go to work the next day because of that. Their kitchen could use a health inspection.

Friendly staff, right down to the cook. Really tasty, freshly made, very generous servings (we took a lot home as we ordered too much). Our picky son explained what he wanted in general terms, and they made something up; he loved it, which is a rarity.

Won More doesn't look like much but their dishes are delicious. The Wor Won Ton soup is the best. Lettuce wraps best in town. The portions are very generous. I hadn't eaten here in a while and I'm glad I'm back. Enjoy.

Was in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago and had heard of this place and finally decided to try it. Ordered online (do like that feature) and picked up. No need to enter credit card info if you are paying in cash when you pick up. Orders over $35 get free steamed rice? Bit steep of a price point for some free rice don't ya think?
Fried rice was greasy, ginger beef very dry, sweet and sour chicken was put in a burger styrofoam container a la carte. With a container of sauce that you added.
From what others have said I would advise to order online and pick up since the restaurant itself well let's put it this way needs some updating. That is unless you enjoy long delivery times.

Great spicy chinese food! Delivery can take an hour. But worth the wait. Pricing is unfortunately getting higher.

Awesome spices and food. Excellent value. First are here 25 years ago and try to come past whenever downtown.

Mediocre at best.our food took over an hour to arrive was rather expensive and lacking in flavour. Everything was extreamly bland next to no flavour we ended up making our own sauce and re heating the food in it. The bbq pork was dry and tasteless. I ordered a soup that when it arrived had a broken lid and poured out into the bag. I'm pretty sure the reviews on their website are written by themselves.someone said it was probably the best Chinese in the city.not by a mile.we did order the wonton with spicy chili sauce and they were actually quite good. Overall extremely disappointed with the quality, cost, and flavours.will never order again.
