Xiang Yuan Qiao Yunnan Cross Bridge Rice Noodle(RMD)

Not worth it to order add-on item on top of their marinated rice noodles. Overall good quality.

The food is pretty decent here, no complaints on that front, but wow I have never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome in a place that accepted our money.

Even while taking our order, the server gave off unfriendly and unwelcoming vibes, immediately letting us know that last call was at 9: 30 (we made it in a few minutes before that.) About 10 minutes after ordering, our food arrived (which I do not feel is an unreasonable time to wait) but at some point the perturbingly eerie atmosphere grew great enough to peel me away from the comforts of eating, as I looked around for the source of unease….

One of the servers stood squared off directly across from our table staring us down, not discretely waiting for us to hurry up and leave.

Our party had only been served our large, hot, bowl of soup not long before this, and we were still clearly working on the contents. We continued on, trying to enjoy the meal despite the palpable hostility in the air.

At some point after our cups emptied, I asked for a refill of tea, and the server looked at me like I had grown two heads.

Shortly after, I found myself increasingly unnerved realizing they had somehow made the inhospital environment even more adverse by turning off the background music, and now not only one but two servers just staring straight at us, mostly wordlessly but at times in between their own exchanges amongst one another.

I couldn’t take it anymore and addressed the elephant in the room asking one of them if they are closing. They gave a vague answer and reiterated that last call was 9: 30 so they close around 10 something.

I checked my phone, it was only a few minutes past 10 at that point. But the damage was done, our party hastened to go, leaving yet a good 1/3 of the soup.

TL;DR - food is good but don’t expect a thing in terms of service.

Feedback for Owner/Management:

No-frills service doesn’t bother me. But this was not no-frills, this was plain rudeness. The particular server waiting our table was completely hostile, unwelcoming, and outright unreasonable. Yes, it is unreasonable to expect diners to finish piping hot meals in 20 minutes upon receiving their orders, unless you are a McDonalds and you are serving fast food.

If you are going to be upset that people are coming into to patron your restaurant, then maybe don’t operate a restaurant or at least adjust your cut-off time for last call. Usually, an establishment’s closing time will be minimum 1 hour after their last call. To not-so-subtly indicate to paying customers that you will take their money and then want them to hurry up and GTFO immediately after receiving their food by all means of hostility, unfriendliness, and borderline intimidation is not among the restaurant industry’s best practices.

Lastly, I wish to add that how we were treated is the opposite of Yunnan hospitality.

There are a lot of seats inside but the crowds are constantly coming!
The way to order food is to scan the QR code to order food by yourself. They didn't tell us so we waited for a long time before we found out by ourselves

Mutton Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles Less spicy $18.75: The soup is delicious and not too spicy. There are a lot of noodles, there are five pieces of meat, and other ingredients are also great ~
Overall it's expensive but delicious

My family recently had cross bridge noodles in Richmond Hill, Ontario. It was a few dollars cheaper with portions smaller than Xiang Yuan Qiao (XYQ).

I went with a friend this weekend, and I had the traditional spicy lamb cross bridge rice noodle, and my friend had the dry braised beef rice pot noodle. Both were quite good, very flavourful (to the point of my dish being too salty, especially when the soup cools down and you can really taste the salt) and used fresh enough ingredients. I find this location has more little dishes of ingredients, and the soup definitely was hotter such that even by meal end, everything was still warm to the mouth.

What we both thought was off-putting was the service. We asked in English then Mandarin, and our female server looked like she was impatient and didn't really want to even work. Another colleague came by and poured hot water twice for us which was great. But her initial service was near rude and it wasn't even at the peak lunch hours of the restaurant (we went at 11: 30 am).

I would return for the family-style, shared pot noodle. My feedback is to make the cross bridge noodle dish less salty, please.

The food was actually quite good! Rich and full of flavour. I went with a friend who knew what to order so I let him take the reins. I had a tomato/spicy broth base noodle with beef. My friend had a dry version of that. I liked mine better!

Delicious food, huge portions so bring friends. Loved the noodles and the pork and beef were super tender, melt in your mouth!

Comfort noodle soup, get a shared pot for more variety of toppings and larger portion. Comes with a sauce bar.

Tasty soups with consistent quality. They hired a new waitress so that improved the service and friendliness of this place. However, they like to take their smoke break right outside the store entrance.

Update: last time we visited service was minimal. Had to call over the server because the qr code didn't let me submit the order. So the server reluctantly took our order by hand. Really question why we need to tip?

The food is ok but the service is getting worse. Me: What is the wifi in your shop? Waiter: It's posted at the front desk. Go over and have a look. I.

It is recommended to mix rice noodles with beef brisket marinade, which is very tasty! The brisket was so tender! Delicious ~ will come again

The food was good but the servers were slow in responding and we had to try hard to get their attentions.

Tonight's pork rib rice noodle takeaway is terrible! The taste of the soup is also not right. My daughter usually likes to eat it in the store. Tasteless soup: (

I called five times today to order food on the phone and no one would pick up the call. So I placed my order via Uber. I understand that they could be busy during lunch time. So I placed my order via Uber. But I don't understand the attitude that I have received from the girl when I was picking up my food. It was very demanding and rude, and is not just the first time receiving bad attitude from this restaurant. The food is great but attitude is terrible. Maybe she should consider change her job if she doesn't like working here.

The quantity is sufficient, and the service is ok. At present, the average three stars are less, so I give five stars as encouragement.

Very tasty, great place for spicy noodle soup. I love adding numbing oil to it. Lost a star because it wasn't as spicy as I wanted, but honestly it's worth 4.5 stars

The overall food quality and quantity was alright. The flavour was decent other than the fact that the sodium level was slightly high within the soup. The dining environment was hygienic as well.

The waiter could've been honest about the cost of the extra bowl of noodle. But instead he kept silent and said nothing about extra cost when I enquired about it, which led me to the surprise when I am presented the bill! And when I confronted him by saying other same type of noodle restaurants don't charge for the extra noodles, he confirmed that's it's only them that's charging extra! That means from the get go he knew the cost could've deterred people from asking for that extra noodles but he STILL WANTED to lie about it! Yes, Not telling = Lying! Is it worth lying for the extra charge of $1.50? The bottomline is always honesty! I WILL NOT EVER COME BACK!

Food was good, it was what we expected.
It would have been better if the menus had more pictures.
Servers barely came to our table so we had to wait for them to come and tried our best to have their attention.
Sauce selection was okay but it's in the weird placement.
Overall it was okay for quick meal but nothing fancier.
Parking is little hard as they don't have lots of spaces.

Sixi rice noodles are delicious, the soup base is hot and the service attitude is very good!

One star for the friendly staff and two star for the food.
The noodle soup was okay, the veggies were not fresh at all. The shredded potato’s taken out straight from the freezer and was poorly flavoured.
