It is an easy service. We drop off our recyclables in a clear bag as we were instructed when we signed up, punch in the phone number, print the labels off and walk away. The transaction is effortless and takes us less than one minute upon entering the building. The staff always inquire if we need assistance, and we politely decline. I enjoy this service rather than counting it out myself.

Nice and easy.
Bottles must be in a clear or blue bag, slap a label on the bag, leave them in the bin, done!
Make sure you set up an account before your visit. You may order your labels online, or print them at the kiosk, sometimes I print a couple extra labels to have them ready for next time.

I got scolded by the lady working here today, right from the moment I walked in. It was my second time in my life using, and visiting Return-it. After cleaning every single bottle and can and packaging it nicely into a clear plastic bag with sticker and bringing it there, that is not what I expected to receive as a customer.

The first time I visited back in September 2020, it was my first time returning bottles and I had a pleasant experience. My friend referred me to this service and so I bought plastic bags, bagged up my recyclables and dropped it off.

Today was my second time visiting as I had saved up a new bag of recyclables. The moment I walked in, I got scolded by the lady working there. I visited on Nov 9,2020 @ 4pm. When I walked in, the lady started scolding me in a very condescending manner, telling me that I need to follow the rules, and only put in approved bottles and cans in the plastic bag and none other. I had included other stuff like almond milk cartons because I didn't know better and my friends told me I could put in all recycling containers in the bag even if it wasn't worth money.

So because I didn't know the rules and put in more than just approved bottles and cans, the lady said she remembered me from last time and said she won't accept the bag if I did it again.

I'm okay if I was told and educated on the rules. The reason for this review is that I was simply ignorant as it's a new experience for me, but she treated me very condescendingly. She started blaming me immediately that I got her in trouble last time and that she remembers me and that I am not following rules, this and that.

Imagine this - you walk in and it's your second time visiting after your first time (which was great), and all of a sudden you just started getting yelled at like you're an enemy. That's how it felt like. I'd appreciate being told nicely, and for the lady to show some compassion that I'm ignorant, not that I'm this and that and that I got her in trouble, and threatening that she won't accept my bag if I did it and that she's doing me a humungous favour for taking it one more time but she's giving me a warning and so on and so forth.

This is very unprofessional, and even though I have more clarity that certain containers aren't accepted and will be more careful, I will try to avoid this location in the future.

I believe the lady working there on Nov 9,2020//4pm needs to take a basic course on customer service and in general, needs to treat people, not just customers, with more respect. Also she should appreciate that she has a job during these tough times. Everyone is stressed these days and that kind of condescending attitude is not what Return-it customers should be receiving.

To the lady working there: I understand your frustration and will ensure my bottles and cans follow what's approved and does not include anything extra such as an almond milk container. However, have some compassion and treat people with respect. I don't need you to be nice, just don't be condescending to people who you don't know, and where you don't understand the circumstances.

I would give 0 but I'll give 1 star for Return-it's service, which is an amazing concept that I'm new to.

I have a big following (16k) on Instagram as I'm an influencer so I will be letting people know about my experiences with Return-it on my platform.

Recycling clothes was easy, just brought them and they had a bag to put them in. But recycling bottles, wow what a pain!
First you have to create an account (there is a computer there). They don't even give you the money there, they email it to you for direct deposit. Then they wouldn't accept my bag that I had the bottles in as it was a black bag. Apparently you need a clear one. Of course they do sell them for $15 a pack (that was according to the lady, they advertise single bags for 2 bucks). All that just to recycle a few bottles. I guess its worth the effort if you live local and have a ton of bottles to return. Otherwise its just too much hassle for a buck or two in deposit returns.

Sorry but the system where you need to return $50 worth of stuff before you get any of your money back is useless to me.

Once you have an account and blue/clear bags, it is quick and easy to make a return of your refundable bottles and cans.
