The waitresses were awesome and the food delicious. Beef noodles didn't have much beef (almost none) but I'll definitely be back

Tried Yook for the first time today. Ordered the $59 Galbi Jjim beef stew with the fried egg add on. Incredibly tough beef. Of the 5 pieces I had, only 1 was tender. Basically they had old meat and new meat mixed in. After tip the dish came out to $72. Hard pass for me.

Ok, this is my first time at a "traditional" Korean food, so I can't really judge the food.

I had the simplest on the menu. Which was fine. Did not know what to expect. Recognized a number of menu items from Korean dramas and stuff. Will have try a few more dishes and perhaps invite a Korean to lunch to get a better feel.

But if you are a first timer. I would suggest that this place is an on first experience.

I've only ordered via Uber Eats and quality has been consistently good. They don't seem to mark up their prices on the app either which is a huge plus.

The food looked and smelled delicious but I can’t eat gluten and the options for gluten free were the saddest. I could only have the bimibap without sauce, the pork in red wine sauce or the plain pork. They didn’t even gave gluten free soy sauce so I could add a I tiny bit of flavour. It was the most flavourless dinner I’ve had in a long time. If you can’t eat gluten don’t bother. Given all the noodles and such are gluten free. Having a gluten free sauce option would have been nice, but all the sauces have soya sauce. There are gluten free versions of Korean spicy sauce so having some of that would have been a nice addition. I eat at sushi restaurants and they generally always have options. It was a bit shocking.

I went with my friends and we ordered the pork backbone soup, seafood pancake, and pork belly bibimbap.

Overall it was a nice dinner but I wouldn't be craving to go back.

The portions are huge! However, all 3 dishes were on the saltier side and we found ourselves drinking water non-stop. The meat on the pork backbone was very hard to bite off and tasted dry, which is unlike the normal pork backbone soups. Usually the meat is really soft and falls off the bone easily. The dish I liked the most was the pork belly bibimbap. The pork belly bibimbap is probably the only dish I would order again if I had to.

Food was really good, great depth of flavour and with enough heat to remind you that you were there for the next couple of hours.

Tried the gochujang samgyupsal, number 16 on the menu. Very delicious. Can’t wait to try it again another time.

Food is overpriced for the portion. Taste was ok, nothing spectacular. After our party of 8 sat down and are ready to order, she mentioned there will be a mandatory 18% gratuity added for large parties. The service overall was subpar regardless of mandatory gratuities or not. Waitress didn't understand that soysauce is not the dipping sauce for the seafood pancake. The sauce came with the side dishes oddly enough. Normally the seafood pancake sauce is savory and sweet and it's not just straight soysauce with some green onions in it. When I asked for a different sauce she seemed confused and asked if I wanted hot sauce. Mind you this was all spoken in Korean.

If you are looking for a convenient spot for a quick meal, try it out. Not a place for great service and outstanding food.

Been there few months ago, it was good, came again, it was so bad, duno if they change owner? Coz the menu changed too. Everything were bad! There’s a young lady server, she’s so nice, but the old lady server, bad service! Side dishes changed to a very small size, can only refilled once, 3 RD round will be $1 each! Before size is much bigger and unlimited refill. The hotpot with rice, before was so yummy, even the pork inside was so good, this time just only spicy, no taste at all! And the samgyupsal, was bad too, very thin pork jelly (I guess should be like half inch thick pork jelly) the skin was very hard, can not eat, never go again

I never been there but had delivery the other day was impressively great. Sundubu (not sure how to spell) had the best soft tofu and a lot of kinds of seafood. They weren't just spicy, they had deep flavoured broth. I will definitely have it again soon.

Sat before 9, got 3 sides except for kimchi. Halfway through finishing, the first waitress said it's last call and we need anything else, I asked if we could have more sides and she said yes but we'd have to finish first. A 2nd waitress came with our pork belly, but she told us "but we're almost closing" - 1 hour before they close, and half an hour before last call. We said there was plenty of time. We finished the sides, the 2nd waitress took the plates away. We never got more sides. Finished the food at 9: 30. Waited for awhile to get service and pay. Couldn't make eye contact with the 2nd waitress to get the bill. She came by and just gave us the bill and machine after serving the other table. Just seemed like they were in a rush to leave.

SOOO YUMMY! And the people there are so nice and considerate.i had help right away and was seated right away as well.

So good. The seafood and green onion pancake was out of this world. Gochujang pork belly was also so good and I dont even eat pork.

Been here many times. Everything is always good. Servers are attentive and would check in on us frequently and ask us if everything tasted good.

Will be always one of my go-to Korean restaurants in East Vancouver.

We decided to try this place because I wanted to try something that was different instead of always heading to Chosun. What would be different? What does Yook have?

I decided on an appetizer and tried their deep fried dumplings. I found it different and would have wished for a boiled version as well, but yeah, it was good. My wife ordered the beef bulgogi and I had some of it. A bit dry on the top pieces and I wished for more sweet soy to soak it up to go with my rice. I ordered the sweet soy pork belly and it was good, but I have to say that I have a sweet tooth and I like my sauces sweet.

I'd still come again to eat here

I visited Yook a few weeks ago and WOW, so so so so delicious. Each dish had so much flavor, the spicy pork belly was very tender and a great portion for the price. I have had seafood pancake at other restaurants and it has been uncooked or too much dough. This was the perfect green onion seafood pancake, the dough was soooo crunchy and the fillings so fresh, HUGE portion and the hot plate it comes on keeps it hot for the entire meal. I ate the leftovers cold the next day and it was great that way as well. Our server was kind and helpful, I will for sure be back 5/5!

The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is so swift and very polite. Some of the best japchae I've had!

Delicious food, and the kitchen was really quick to get our food out despite the restaurant being very busy, and the serving staff was friendly and knowledgeable and has reliable recommendations for us. A new favourite!

Came here a few weeks back with a few friends. Really good experience here. Had the dumplings, pork belly, spicy chicken, and short ribs stew. Great flavours! Can't wait to come back!

It is not a fancy restaurant but it is the best Korean food I ever eat. I'll come back here again.

They don’t have bbq but do have other traditional Korean dishes. Ended up with a regular bibimbap and was very good.

Ordered the fried dumplings and shared the sweet soy deung galbi jjim pork, which is a braised pork back ribs with vegetables in sweet soy. Both dishes were good but nothing special. Got 3 side dishes and the lettuce on the side was the salad that came with the pork as it was meant to be for 2 people and also comes with 2 bowls of rice.

Tables are spread far apart and there's dividers in between so dining in is quite safe.

Not the best korean restaurant around but tasted decent. Portion was pretty small compared to some other places.

You'll probably be able to find your favourite Korean food here as their menu is quite extensive. Restaurant is also very spacious.

I ordered dduck mandu guk (rice cakes and dumplings in beef broth soup) and bibimbap with spicy stir-fried chicken. Bibimbap was not really presented in an "authentic way" as it served rice on the side in a metal bowl. Also a bit disappointed that it had no egg, since the best part of mixing bibimbap imo is the runny egg yolk. Nevertheless, both dishes were delicious.

I would definitely come back here again. I took off 1 star because:
- banchan was not impressive; they didnt have my favourite sweet potatoes and bean sprouts
- we were there at 4pm on a Sunday and prompt service was so-so; our water did not get filled in a timely fashion (this is nothing about their attitudes, they were nice through the minimal encounters). They do have a button for a bell at each table though.
- Food was good, but did not get me jumping up and down

This place has the best cold buckwheat noodle in Vancouver! Their kimchi seafood pancake was also very good.

Delicious Top quality, very clean, delicious food served in sizzling cast-iron pans. I plan on running through their menu.

Service: The restaurant was packed! The waitress was quick and I could see her practically speed walk to all the tables to serve food/take orders. I had a question about the menu but I saw she helped some tables and refilled water but got back to me really quick still! Great service.

Food: I felt the food was a bit on the higher side and the food wasn't as great as some other restaurants for the price. Seems like a family owned shop so I can see why the pricing is a bit more. Also I went when dine in was allowed again so maybe they were just overwhelmed. I would try it again sometime in the future but right now I don't think I'd go back (mostly due to price).

One of the very few restaurants that I'd gladly pay to eat Korean food. I have impossibly high standards when it comes to the food from my home country and I can confidently say that this place certainly stops me from going to a grocery store and make my own soon-doo-boo or what have you. Certainly authentic with a hint of modern sensibilities, many dishes here have met my expectations and I was left with clean plates.

Super delicious food and great value! I usually get the bibimbap with spicy chicken, and it never disappoints, and is such a good price. The variety of vegetables is great, and they are always cooked well and the food comes fast. The chicken is never dry or tough, always moist, very delicious seasoning, and a nice belly-warming spice level. Sometimes with my takeout orders they also give me the 3 little starting appetizer plates that they give with eat in meals that include what I believe are fish cakes, marinated veggies, and one more small dish that I can't remember at the moment. I really appreciate getting these yummy extras, and they make the meal that much more special and add so much value!

I always know I'll be satisfied with a meal from Yook and at a fantastic price. The service is always super friendly as well! A really great gem in Vancouver.

The greatest Korean bbq experience of all time. No smoke no mess since they marinate and make the meat + side dishes in house. Great for families and fastest takeout service ever

It's very hard finding a good Korean restaurant in Vancouver that makes good gamjatang. In Toronto, you can find a decent tasting gamjatang from about any Korean place.

Yook does a fairly decent job. My major complaint was the meat on the pork bone was very tough to pull apart. It doesn't melt off when you scrap it with your utensils. Instead you end up gnawing on it like a diseased starving dog. I wish the soup base was more pronounced as well, it was a little bland, but not bad.

I wished they could have served more sides for the price we are paying it's not a great deal.

One of my favorite Korean places in the neighborhood. I love their rice cakes and always always order it! Their spice levels are on point and everything is reasonably priced. Good customers service as well!

I very much like their food and customer service, fantastic area next to where I live. The cashiers are always very welcoming. Will visit here again.

PATRONS BEWARE. Six of us tried out this neighborhood place on weekend afternoon and feel very disappointed. The food was greasy, small portion and very pricy. The waitress was unfriendly and did not come to check on us from time to time since there were only two tables in the restaurant at the time. When we asked for the bill, our table was filled with dirty dishes. To our surprise, the bill was added 18% gratitude, however, we did not see the 18% gratitude for a party of six or more "clause" posted on the menu. We wow will not ever want to try out this place again.

Good service, nice food. Not cheap tough. I disliked that my appetizer came after my main dish, but that's because it took 5 minutes to almost everything be served hahaha so it's not bad.

The food is constantly well prepared and yummy, cashiers hands out great customer service. I really like how clean it is and vibes. I highly recommend this spot.

Very neat and convenient place. They offer generous meals and for inexpensive rates. We liked the menu a lot and the staff were very personal and explanatory. Recommended.

Went here at 9: 10pm, asked for no onions but still spent a good 10 mins picking out onions not to mention having to care throughout my entire meal. For the big $30 kamjatang it has 5 pieces of meat in total.doesnt have much like kimichi or potatoes inside the actual soup. I'm giving it 2 because the waiter did apologize and gave us 2 drinks - but they didnt do last call, so we didnt end up getting refills on the side dishes at 9: 40pm. Not to mention being rushed at 9: 45pm to pay - when they close at 10pm.

This place always delivers. They serve awesome food for convenient rates, there are no long waits even when they are loaded.

Very clean and accessible place. They serve large portions and for reasonable prices. We liked the meals a lot and the staff were super welcoming and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this place.

This place has wonderful service and delicious meals. The best place in town. The food and drinks served fast and the rates were fair. I recommend this place.

The waitress wanted to go home, and she made sure we were aware of that at every minute of our meal.

Girl, next time you want to finish early, just say "we're closing early today".

That way we would have came back again in the future, at a time that work for you, instead of ending up hating that place, and never coming back ever again.

You'll make yourself, the clients, and the restaurant a favour, instead of running around in the room like a hamster to show that you gotta go, and watching us eat as if it was going to make us swallow faster.

I really loved their dishes. I always get fantastic service here. The place is neat and the workers are always very kind. Will come visit again.

Excellent! Since my trip to Seoul, I have been on the hunt for authentic, moderately priced Korean food in Vancouver and I found it! Fairly new establishment, only open around 2 years. Hearty food with huge portions (one dish easily feeds 2) - the meats were exceptional. Perfectly marinated and grilled so you could still enjoy the juicy tenderness of the bulgogi. The kimchi was so fresh, you could still taste the crunch of the cabbage - none of that wilted, overly salty stuff here. The spicy chicken on a cast iron hot plate was the highlight. It came with chewy rice cakes, nicely caramelized by the hot pot, in a sweaty spicy sauce! I'm salivating right now just thinking about it. Super yummy! The service was prompt, pleasant and speedy. Some parking available behind the restaurant. I will definitely be becoming a regular. This place is truly deserving of 5-stars.awesome!
