This store condones discrimination and should be boycotted. Just because someone is a teenager does not mean they shoplift. And to physically assault an innocent person is reprehensible. DO NOT SHOP HERE AND PROMOTE SUCH A DESPICABLE BUSINESS.

**Important info regarding MISTREATMENT at the GARRISON DOLLAR STORE**
I have an almost 17 years old daughter. My mother worked in loss prevention for well over a decade, so I know how things work. I completely understand that certain youth in the neighborhood could give the rest of our kids a bad reputation, however, how my daughter and boyfriend were treated by the owner/manager (?), was appalling.
My honor student, citizenship award winning, film buff, hard working, never done anything out of line (not so much as going to a rowdy party), non-smoking, non-drug using, non-drinking, 17 year old daughter was browsing the Halloween decorations, as she was going to decorate our home yesterday. She was also there to purchase some string for a film that she is working on, when she was followed and then aggressively approached by the older man that owns/works at (not sure). He not only accused my daughter of stealing a bat clip she has had for quite some time, but they forcefully removed it from her purse and demanded that she pay for it or show him a receipt. She kindly and calmly explained that the bat clip was a gift from her boyfriend, but was repeatedly told that if she didn't have a receipt, then it's stolen. After berating her, he tore the tag off of her property (a beanie baby type toy with the tag/name/birthday of critter-this had sentimental value, as it was a gift from her boyfriend when they first started dating) and told her that she was not allowed to have the tag back. After this ridiculously embarrassing situation, she still purchased the string for her project and returned home. This was completely inappropriate and discusting behavior, by an adult non the less.
Keep in mind that I have repeatedly been told that the owners of this store do not like teenagers and refuse to hire them, but being a sane adult, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. This occurrence has led me to believe that what I've heard is true and completely unacceptable behavior.
I then proceeded to go to the store to confront the man, however, he was either hiding in the back or had left for the day. My apologies to anybody that I may have held up in line while I explained what had happened to the cashier-but thank you kindly to the woman who gave me an encouraging 'good for you'. It meant a lot during a very upsetting moment.
If you've gotten this far, I appreciate your time and hope that this doesn't happen to any of your innocent children. Also to be added, I do not think my children can 'do no wrong' and they have made normal kid mistakes-and I will be the first to correct them when they do-but this was so uncalled for.

The creep with the long grey hair and bad teeth needs an attitude adjustment.we came in 10 minutes before close and he told us we had 5 minutes and stood behind us with his arms crossed while we shopped. He stepped to my boyfriend, as if threatening to fight him.we left right away.awful experience. I’ve been to this dollar store SO many times and never had this happen.

Has some great things that some other dollar stores don't have! Some things are slightly overpriced as at some other dollar stores. But everyone here is quite friendly and they have a large variety of items!

Stay Away, the creep with the long grey hair who is apparently a husband of the owner? Will accuse you of stealing and invade your personal space, threaten to call the police for "suspicious activity" such as looking at the items on the shelf or reading the package. If you want to be stalked and harassed go ahead and visit, but otherwise I advise staying away from that creep Read the other reviews, apparently it's a pattern with that guy. Shopped there for years as I live nearby & the rest of the staff has been very good, but this guy apparently does this to everyone.

First experience:

A few months back be and my bf had these foam swords we were playing with. We were planning on buying them when we got yelled at and kicked out.

Second experience:

While we were looking around we found these 2 tubes that when u spun around they made a sound. So two of my friends were doing so. They were both planned on buying it. When this older lady came up to us. She told them to stop which they did. One of the 2 chose out a different tube to get. The older lady told him to buy the other one he was using because "it's used". He ended up buying it. While the two of them were leaving the older lady said "show some respect". We never yelled with her and listened to her requests. If anything we deserve some respect.

In October an old man (60-80 ish probably) who worked there was harassing me and my friends, following us around the store, and flirting with us then kicked us out of the store for not going along with whatever game he was trying to play (we were all 12-14 at the time) I haven't gone back since and I don't plan on it.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. "Owner" (owner/manager's husband) is a total creep - ask any former employees. He's well into his 70s and makes young women (employees and customers) uncomfortable by ogling them and standing too close. Merchandise is very overpriced, some items are twice as expensive as comparable dollar stores. Owners pay employees cents over minimum wage despite them being there for years. Run, don't walk, away from this store.
