Good food and friendly service for a fair price! The noodles are made on premise and are very good. We had the pancake beef roll, XLBs, noodle with beef, and noodle with cumin lamb

It’s a hit and miss place. First time was so good, kids fought for the food. This time they took 1 bite and refused to eat more. MSG was heavy today, after taste was not pleasant.

Fried pork bums were a hit last time, this time the filling was not flavoured and meat too lean with no texture.

I will go back again, maybe just bad luck that came on the main chefs day off.

This place knocks it out of the park. Everything we tried was flavourful and well balanced, and perfectly cooked.

Incredible dan dan noodles, amazing beef roll, and the wontons in chili oil were incredible.

The wontons weren’t too soggy, the noodle were cooked perfectly, and the beef roll was crispy and well filled. Got full and still wanted to keep eating cause it was that good, and the portions are nice and big

Service was amazing, super nice lady waiting the tables was friendly and personable and helpful. You can tell they care here.

Yummy beef rolls. It could be perfect if they are sizzling hot.

Sour spicy noodles are a bit overcooked. And i prefer more vinegar.

The pork dumplings are not looking good but tastes okay. Again, I like to dip it with vinegar and soya sauce.

Delightfully surprised to find this Northern Chinese cuisine gem! The food is pretty good with handmade noodles being their specialty. The inside isn't glamorous but it is cozy and clean. The best part was the staff who were very friendly and accommodating!

I liked this store very much and recommended it to many friends, but I will remind everyone not to come here in the future. Treating people like idiots is disgusting. If I was dinning in, they would definitely not dare to serve the wrong dishes. They bullied me to take out, and they had no choice but to open it at home, so they dared to give me completely wrong dishes. Unscrupulous merchants

This restaurant is one of our favorite because the chef was the original ones from Shao Lin Restaurant with many different types of hand made noodles. We like all their variety of choices in their menu and we recommend them to our friends or invite them to join us to enjoy a meal together. They have new menu additions such as lamb hot pot and others which we really enjoyed very much.

Second time at this place. Excellent pan fried buns and soup noodles. Had lamb with the noodles. Excellent flavour. The beef rolls are also excellent. Will be back!

We love this spot. The food is always fresh and exceptional. No ambiance, no frills. Just good food.
When paying, the woman will shout at you if you don’t tip.
We left cash at the table but paid by card. She canceled the machine input and told to tip.

Good humour but quite rude.

This is the second time I ordered Sweet and Sour chicken. Last time the quantity was pretty good, but this time I got only about half of the to-go-container, looks like someone took some of my food out for his lunch when packing my take out. The cost is $19.90, which isn’t worth this little food.

We had a take out, food was excellent.
Took 20-25 min to be ready. Definitely ordering again.

First of all, this place only accepts cash or debit. So be prepared for that.

Secondly, this place has tasty food, don’t let the dated exterior fool you.

Thirdly, they speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Shanghainese so use whatever language you’re comfortable with.

As others have mentioned, this place is hit and miss on certain dishes, they offer tremendous value though. The price point is quite decent for 6 XLBs for $9.50. However half of ours came deflated so they may have had a busy day (they can get quite busy).

The house special cut noodle is quite delicious. I enjoyed the hot “fire” taste, though some may find it closer to a burnt taste. One suggestion for the hot and sour soup is to add some protein, most others have shredded meat or shrimp, but this one did not.

Humble restaurant with fantastic food and attentive owner. The spicy lamb skewers and hand cut noodles were off the charts delicious!

$17 noodle that didn’t come with sufficient meat. All the meat are on the top of the bowel in the picture. I ordered lamb noodle and there is not even one complete piece of lamb meat! Noodle was cooked softer than usual and soup was subpar. Disappointed. 2 stars were awarded to relatively clean restaurant.

Love the noodles and dumplings here and the server is very nice. There’s not a lot of authentic noodles and dumpling in town. The noodles are made by hand and I believe the dumpling skins are hand rolled (I’ve never witnessed it but they taste as such). It’s far from fine dining but it is authentic and my sons and I go regularly bc of it. We’ve always been treated well by the server and the cook here.

If you're looking for authentic chinese noodles, you should swing on by. There are various types of noodles -dragging, cutting, stewed, pulled, etc noodles. There are very mom and dad popshop vibes inside. The dishes were all reasonably priced and the portions are are sizeable.

A welcomed surprise. Didn’t know what to expect coming in here but was pleasantly surprised at the entire experience. The lady so served us was such a treat, a lovely individual and so attentive. The food was so good. We took her recommendation on the beef roll and noodle dishes and they did not disappoint.
Perfectly seasoned, fantastic texture, you can see the chef pull and prepare the noodles to order.
Extremely amicable, unassuming location. Very pleased to have found this restaurant. Highly recommend.

My partner and i have been here multiple times and keep coming back because the food is so delicious! Good northern chinese cuisine is harder to come by in vancouver, so this place is a gem.waitress is very kind and service is great, just gets a little busy at times and there’s only one waitress taking care of the front of the house

So happy to find a great Shanghai style noodle house after losing our old favourite one. Yu Xiang Yuan is amazing. I especially loved the cutting noodles with chicken & vegetables in broth and the fried eggplant! Next time - dumplings. Be sure to call to order for pick up and ask for a special offer for take out.

Love the Biang biang noodles in Chili oil here. All the dishes we ordered were really authentic.
While the ambiance is home-style, the service is good. The lady who took our orders, was friendly and helpful. We had asked for 5star spicy, but the food when served was not spicy enough. Even the chili oil on the table was not hot enough. So when we asked for something more spicy, the kind lady brought us their ‘chili paste’ - it added a superb zing and was just what we were looking for.

The lamb noodle soup hits the spot on a cold water night. Handcrafted noodles is excellent too. The lady server is attentive and super helpful.

Delicious food and really nice people. Very friendly. Definitely recommend this and definitely come back. Thanks again guys

My opinion on this place has changed completely. Not only did we find random objects in our food multiple times but that has us on the phone for fifteen minutes. We just wanted a total for our order. This place has gone downhill

Chili oil dragged noodles and Wontons were top shelf. Prices were good. Karen was great. See you soon.

Food is good the fried dumplings, dan-dan noodles is good the beef rolls is good and sweet and sour pork spare ribs. The tripe noodles are blunt all you can taste is the ginger the XLB is ok but bit dry. And the reason I gave 3 stars is that they are forcing you to gave higher tip even tho we order to many food.

Possibly the best restaurant in my neighborhood, not too expensive and always delicious. My favorite item, Dan-Dan Noodles, is so satisfying to enjoy eating at their location on fraser street.

We tried the following and highly recommend:)

- Pan Fried Dumplings — extremely fresh dough
- Xiao Long Bao — Very soupy
- JaZiang Mein — Hand-pulled; speechless
- Chicken Corn Soup — Very sweet and creamy:)
- Hand stretched pancake — Best we’ve ever had
- Diced Cashew Chicken — Large pieces and very juicy!

Everything was very generously portioned and we were very blown away by the quality of their dishes. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Shanghai food. We will definitely be ordering from here at least once a week!

This is the second time we’ve gone here. We took out this time. The woman who helped us was very generous and lovely. It’s a little gem in the area. The food has all been pretty good so far! Worth a try!

Ordered to go. The waitress added $2.50 to the order for her tip without informing me. There was no service, and I in fact didn't even wait inside the restaurant. I feel ripped off. I won't be returning. It's not the dollar value so much as how cheap such an underhanded act is.

The dish I had was excellent with the exception of the spice, I asked for it to be extremely spicy and it was Zero spicy and I was told that was as spicy as they could make it. Even the menu indicated it was a spicy dish but it was not.

Terrible experience! About halfway through our meal we saw a hair in the deep fried squid. We told the server and she said she would give us 50% off the dish. We told her we would pay for the rest of our meal but that we shouldn't pay for the squid. She then insinuated that we could have put the hair in the squid ourselves. We pointed out that my hair is long, fine and brown. The hair we found was shorter, jet black, thick and fizzy like it had been fried along with the squid. She finally agreed to remove it from the bill and were told to leave a good tip. We understand that accidents happen but none of the cooks were wearing hair nets which shows they were being careless. Asking for an undeserved tip is so unprofessional and distasteful.

My favourite place for hand pulled noodles. Another local place to visit. This place is a must visit. I have been coming for 10 years. Still great.

This restaurant is very honest with the take out orders. Unlike so many other restaurants who cheap out the take out portion. The best noodle for this price range! Great customer service as well!

I love these guys. I love in the neighborhood and there's no better place for authentic chinese food.

Good food but service not very good. I was harassed for a tip. After spending over 50 dollars for a meal, she came to me as I was about leaving and said I had to pay tip. I said next time, but she said it is compulsory and I must pay. Never going back there.

Still great dishes and unbelievable good noodles n wonton. Hope we pull out of this crazy time so I can see it full of customers again.

Great handpulled noodles. I love this place if I'm looking for a quick carb fix. However, cleanliness is not always the best.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurant in Vancouver. Awesome fride noodles, beef rolls and others. If you like cutting noodles, try this place.

Disappointed with Xiao Long Bao. But not on the rest of the dishes.

The XLB had no soup in them. Each of the skin broke or were broken when we lifted it from the bamboo steamer. The dumplings were ok. Asked the waitress if they made the XLB in house and she said no. Would not order again.

Had the Yu Xiang Noodle in Soup with the cutting noodle & beef. The soup had amazing flavour. The cutting noodle was al dente. Beef was tender.

Fried cutting noodle with lamb was also good. Lamb was tender and dish was very flavourful.

Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Waitress was very attentive in keeping our tea full. All the noodle are made on site.

This is our cozy little go-to spot on Fraser at 50th. Friendly & quick service. Favourite items are Cutting noodles with lamb & cumin, green beans with sliced onions & fried buns stuffed with pork. Grandkids really enjoy watching cooks prep & slice the noodles through viewing window.

This place is wonderful. The service was so friendly also. The food is served family style and you are given very generous portions. Came home with a lot of leftovers. A few dishes we had were the fried noodles with chicken, fried rice with chicken and sweet and sour chicken. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely recommend.
