Delicious Shanghai dumplings. The food is good and servers are nice. Make a reservation for dinner on weekends. It's busy!

One of my favourite places to get Shanghai food, with a wide variety of dishes of consistent, delicious quality whenever my family have the chance to go! Great Chinese comfort food option, and frequently busy with packed tables.

We come here regularly for their delicious shanghai food. Lots of variety to choose from and good portions. Parking lot not that great though but you can park on the sidewalk (city meter parking). Check out the pictures of some of the food we ordered.

The Shanghai pan fried noodle was one of the best I ever had. Very authentic Northern China food.

Good service, especially the manager - Rene, she is very nice! The food quality is very good too especially the "生煎包 n 嫩雞煨麵", the long donut is the best in town, must try!

My favourite authentic Shanghai/Jiangzhe restaurant, they even have off menu options for reservations.

Restaurant is a little small and parking lot is always full because there are always lots of customers. Excellent food compensates for this shortfall.

The restaurant seating were a bit crowded. Food was pretty decent and servers were pretty efficient. Funny thing was both washroom were out of order and poor customers had to hold on for nature calls. Sorry no video this time

Too pricy for the quality of food. A friend wanted to try this place. None of us had ever been here before. The service, cleanliness and location with good parking was great, but the food was underwhelming, sad to say.

Fantastic Service. The staff were prompt, the food was delicious, and the building and atmosphere was clean and inviting. Really stunning. Staff also took the effort to find my number to report a lost item; I truly appreciate at the kindness. Thank you.

They serve authentic Shanghainese food. The food is very good, the service is superb, mostly the price is very reasonable, highly recommended.

Food delicious and prices are reasonable. Clean and tidy, service just ok. Not a lot of parking space.

Authentic Shanghai cuisine. Cook so well and I love nearly all the food especially the rice cake and the noodles.

We came in without reservation for Sunday lunch and the server lady was kind to find us a seat.

Ordered Xiao Long Bao, fish soup, seafood Guoba and beef pancake all tasted great.

Best Shanghai food you can get. Price is worth and the portions are large. We usually order Hot and Sour Soup, drunken chicken, XLB, fried rice w/ salty pork, and braised pork belly w/ pickle. Service is great too: D It's recommended to make reservations if you're eating here for dinner.

Great dining experience. Renee was great in ensuring service and dinner was satisfactory to our guests. Even sent staff to get extra crabs for our two tables. The other dishes were very tasty and highly recommended place for Shanghainese food. The lamb ribs were excellent. If there is a 6 star as review, they will deserve it.

Delicious Shanghainese spot! I love their tomato egg, xlbs, and cumin lamb. Today we tried the drunken chicken which was a really fragrant and tasty appetizer.

Not bad! Service quite decent here even though they were very busy and packed. It was dinner time.
The pan fried buns was one of the best, the dough had good balance of chew, texture and softness with good flavour. The little fried fish was particularly unique (you can pretty much chomp down the entire thing, bones and all). There was the usual ham-like dish (sort of like head cheese) that also got a thumbs up. Came in bigger chunks than in most restaurant but most importantly, flavour & texture was a notch above what we usually have.
The only miss I remember is this lotus root dish stuffed with sticky rice and other bits. Quite lacking in flavour and it was kind of rubbery, soggy texture. Would not order that again. That's not the way this thing should be.
For our party, it came in at well under $20/person even though we were stuffed and had extras to go home.
Yeah, I would recommend this as a destination as they have some dishes not found elsewhere and they do a really good job. I would return here.

Salty duck’s delicious! XLB’s so so. Sweet lotus root’s too dry and the taste is off. The pork floss overpowered the tofu and preserved egg, and too much tofu, not enough egg. Overall not a bad place for Shanghainese food. Place can get real noisy as it’s quite small.

Real Shanghainese foods, I wish we have one in our city. Will definitely come back in our visit to Vancouver.

Parking & seating limited, recommend RSVP if possible (takeout available). Tried two-person combo menu: found quite filling so took some dishes home! Each assorted dish of vegetables, pork buns, soup & fried dessert came piping hot and delicious. Hope to visit again for dim sum menu hour.

We were there early so there wasn't a wait. Service was pretty good and the food arrived quite fast. It was my first time here so we order a set dinner and everything was good and flavorful, though portions were small for what they were charging. By the time we left, the restaurant was almost full so I guess they must be doing something right. I will definitely come back to try some of their other dishes

Consistently good with their authentic Shanghainese specialties; highlight items includes: Pig’s Trotters in Wine Marinade, Braised Eel with Noodles, Hot & Sour Soup, Xiao Long Bao and Shanghainese Fried Noodles to list a few!
Maybe I’m lucky, I had always received great service from all the staffs here and especially René, always friendly and professional, call ahead to make reservations if you are coming during weekends! Free parking available outside the restaurant!

Just don’t come here. I waited an hour for first dish, and we call the waitress, she blamed us for not reminding them. So, the first dish came and it was something that we did not even order. We told the waitress, she told us to just eat it because she had to pay for this if we change. What kind of restaurant is this? I will never return and I suggest you do not come here as well.

I had the worst dinning experience here. They forgot one dish and we were waiting for 30mins. So I asked the waitress if our dish is coming, and they told me they forgot about it. So we requested to cancel it becuz we were in a rush leaving. Then she blamed us for not reminding them and wouldn’t let me cancel. This is a joke. Then the boss came to us and he was loud and blamed us for eating too fast. 重来没遇过这么差的服务，跟顾客争执怪顾客的。

I do not recommend coming here and I will never return.

There is so much to love about this Shanghai restaurant. I have been eating here for many many years.

Delicious dishes and fair priced. Decent free parking or paid street parking. Accept credit cards.

Parking is atrocious (had to park like 3 blocks away) but man that's some solid Chinese food. Beef is incredible

Yuan's Garden serves up varied Shanghainese and Cantonese dishes in a nice setting. The menu is extensive, however it is hard to find vegan options as even the vegetable and tofu dishes seem to have either egg, chicken broth, seafood, oyster sauce, or shredded pork. Some safe and tasty bets for vegan dishes - which I had - are the kao fu (wheat gluten with wood ear mushrooms and peanuts - this is a cold appetizer), you tiao (fried donut) with three kinds of mushroom (ask for no oyster sauce), ba bao fan (eight-treasure sticky rice pudding, which is a traditional dessert), and yuan zhi (sticky rice balls with black sesame filling and coated with nuts). Shanghainese cuisine is very sweet and salty, with lots of savory, dark sauces, so ask the waiters for "less sugar and salt" if you prefer lighter dishes. Portion sizes are enormous, but the dishes aren't cheap either. The service is quite rapid but not extraordinarily friendly and warm, as per usual in most Chinese restaurants. Overall, I have no complaints about this restaurant.

Good Shanghai food. The dumplings are quite tasty. Nice decor but it's not a big restaurant so it can get a bit noisy when it is full.

Really great service and best Shanghai style cuisine in Richmond. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to try more styles of Chinese cuisine

A great place for a great Chinese meal. The service is fast, the waiters are nice, and the food is fresh, authentic, and flavorful. The space is expansive, but still you'll need a reservation for when it gets crowded, i.e, around dinner and lunch.

Very good shanghai food, clean and everything looks updated inside. Food comes out fast tasted very fresh.
