Zabu Chicken

Recommended by a friend, but personally don't like their fried chicken, it's sweet and dry.

Ok, it's open till 3am! At this time of night choices r limited, very good fried chicken, I had the Ramen w egg with mild spicy, and it's still pretty spicy to me. Sooooo good! Service is fast and minimal convo, I think staff r over worked and understaffed and the place was packed, it was about 12: 30 ag night on a Thursday. Will go back for sure.

Waste of Money, Worst place I ever seen in Vancouver, super expensive for nothing, low quality food, 45 mins for 4 pieces fried chicken, I haven't given less than 3 stars to any restaurant, 100% dissappointing, never be back.

I blame them for my weight gain because their Chicken is so Delicious and Addictive. I love the cozy vibes and Chunking Bulgogi and chicken here. A bit Busy in the evenings but food is great.

Meh service, waited for a long time, and got the bill with the tip already included.

Horrible service. It was an hour before we got a menu. I ordered a vegetarian plate (which I triple checked would not have meat), only to find small pieces of pork in it half way through. They then gave us the bill with 18% autograt on it, and did not split it up between people. They were rude and did not provide any help.

Seafood pancake was very good

we had the yang nyum chicken as well, which was good but fairly sweet

Very good chicken but food is extremely overpriced for what it is. Also the ‘whole chicken’ is actually a half a chicken so it’s a bit false advertising

The chicken was good. Not the best but pretty good. I wouldn't be disappointed if I went here again. Crowd seemed young and hip and the staff where extremely nice.

A big red flag for me was poor covid measures, almost no social distancing in indoor seating beyond regular restaurant seat barriers. They were very busy but we had to flag down someone every single time for any service. Their original soy chicken is the best in the chicken menu, sweet chicken is a bit too sweet. My friends had seafood soup and liked it.

3 stars are for the crispiness of the chicken. Rest customer service below average. Chicken sauce not upto the mark, too sweet.

I was here last Saturday and I want to note the terrible service, the laziness of the waiters and the open racism. 1) we stood in line for a very long time, when several tables were already empty, the waiters were not even going to wash them, they were talking to their friends who came after us and immediately sat them down, and I and my company waited for about 40 minutes until the waiters noticed us. When I was already angry and came up, they put us in. 2. Everything was very long, when such a flow of customers, waiters should fuss, and in this institution the waiters rest. 3. About racism. We ordered a drink of soju and I noticed that all true Koreans were brought a normal soju with a label, and all foreigners around without a label and it tasted like homemade diluted soju. VISITORS! ALWAYS ASK FOR A SERVANT WITH A LABEL, the waiters deceive you in order to pay less taxes. This institution offended my feelings, because I was born in Korea, even though I almost don't speak Korean anymore, but why is it so open here, the staff serves their native Koreans well, and foreigners are so terrible? Despite the fact that the chicken was really delicious, we will not come here with our company anymore!

Zabu chicken is a classic. The best fried chicken place with great flavour. Nice atmosphere and servers are nice.

Highly recommend to anyone visiting Vancouver!

Chicken is "muah". No more word needed.
Service was fast but servers are not friendly/barely answered me&my husband's questions and just walked away.
But overall it was not bad and absolutely will go again:)

It’s interesting they could add cinnamon into fried chicken. Maybe some people like it but I’m not a huge fun of it. Soy chicken I found a little bit too salty. I’ve always like their instant noodle, just hit the spot every time.

I discovered this fried chicken place a couple of weeks ago and I’ve got to say this is one of the best Korean fried chicken place in Vancouver! If you go there you must order the soy and their spicy chicken wings and the seafood pancake!

The famous Korean chicken pub, there are quite a couple along the Robson street. Ole being my favorite spot for take out, as it's really really hard to find seating here unless you book ahead. (then again, does anyone really plan ahead for Friday nights?) Zabu is another great place to be, and its my alternative. CAUTION: if you don't like the chatters don't come here. People talk very loud here. Just like Ole, best korean fried chicken I have come to taste among all similar restaurants in Vancouver. (though how they charge $10 for instant noodle dish still boggles my mind).

我们三个人晚上7: 32过去排队，服务员告诉我们一个小时之后过去。我们8: 30又到那里之后让我们再等40分钟，于是我们又等了四十分钟。然后服务员过来问我们要不要坐2人位，认真的吗？等了快两个小时让我们挤2人桌。里面有四个人都已经吃完了，在聊天，也不走。让服务员过去问一下，她告诉我们她们被允许在那里吃两个小时。后来我们就干脆不吃了，因为怕要再等两个小时。这导致我们浪费了非常多的时间，而且我觉得用餐时长上限太久了，韩国人吃一顿饭都要两个小时吗？？吃个炸鸡，等了两个小时。笑了。

The three of us went in line at 7: 32 in the evening, and the waiter told us to go there in an hour. After we got there again at 8: 30, they made us wait another 40 minutes, so we waited another 40 minutes. Then the waiter came over and asked if we wanted to take the two people seats. Seriously? Waited almost for 2 hours for us to squeeze into the table for 2 people. There are four people in at a table who have finished eating, but still chatting, and not leaving. We respectfully requested the waiter to go over and ask if they are leaving soon, but she told us that they were allowed to eat there for two hours. Later, we simply left with disappointment because we were afraid that we would have to wait another two hours. This has caused us to waste a lot of time, and I think the maximum time to dine in is way too long. Do Koreans take two hours to eat a meal? Extremely funny experience.

One of my favourite places to eat in downtown, great atmosphere, great people and the chicken is amazing. The place gets pretty full around 7-8 pm so I would recommend going a little earlier.

I have never had a bad experience with the food here. The last time I visited, we, of course, had the fried chicken, some sundubu and a whole lot of soju. We did wait almost 20 minutes for our order to be taken.a waitress clearly saw us waving at her but kept looking away and instead, began wiping down tables. It wasn't until I got up from my seat, walked over to her and said, "Hello. Did you see me? We are ready to order. " She looked shocked that I wanted food.but begrudgingly walked over and took our order. The food came quick and another waiter began waiting our table instead of the ignoring lady. Docked 1 star for ignoring lady.

I just called them to ask if we could order for take out. One waitress answered the phone, but due to some tech-issue, they can not hear me. Then they just hang up on me. Then I called for the second time, this time I think she can hear me, because she said yes when I ask her if she can hear me. Then I asked her if we could order for take out. Once I finished that sentence she hang up on me again! Why? What’s wrong? Say something if you can not hear or what! When I called them the third time. They just refuse to answer the call. It’s the first I have contact with this restaurant, and the feeling it gives me is so bad. Like some of the reviews said, the service are terrible. I just don’t even wanna try their food anymore.

I do love their chicken. It is extremely yummy. But the service is so terrible. I am serious. They threw the menu to us as I asked. They totally forgot our drinks and second order. We didn't get the drinks and second order but they showed up on the bill when a staff gave to us. Additionally, they didn't even give us a smile. I could understand they didn't deliberate that cuz I used to work in the restaurant before but I felt they don't like us. I went to Zabu chicken before with my Koreans friends and they didn't give us that action. I don't mean they discriminate but I felt they ignored us.

Great food, I love their chicken, prob best one in town.
I took 3 stars away because of the bad service. Yes, it was that bad. Didn't even get our drink without reminding them and probably also for the chicken because we also had to remind them for that. My friend asked for a side of kimchi, got none but it did still show up in the check. They dropped the check when we didn't finish eating, worse, when we didn't even get all of what we ordered which they put on the check.
Don't want to say there's discrimination or something but there definitely is. We went there as a group of non - Koreans and got this terrible experience, it was surely better when there's Korean friends went along.

I asked the server if I could get the yogurt soju and she said she had to check everyone’s id, I said “My other friend isn’t legal yet” then she says then everyone on the table can’t drink. Then she comes back 10 minutes later to help us. I asked her if they changed the rules because I was here last month and we were able to drink with minors around us, she says yes we just changed it this month. This lady says it in the meanest way. I will never go back to this place! What kind of place does not serve alcohol with minors around? What if I want to take my younger cousins here and drink casually at te same time? This place has the worst customer service ever.

Good food. Horrible service. They only want you to finish ur food ASAP, pay the bill and get out of their restaurant. There are so many good Korean fried chicken in Coquitlam. Never come back.

Great food and atmosphere! Service can be slow due to the fact that it is always busy, but it is worth the wait. My recommendation is pairing yogurt soju with the chicken!

We had high hopes for this place considering the long wait and high energy environment. However, my family and I left extremely dissatisfied. We ordered 3 things off the menu (corn cheese $11.95, rabokki $14.95, fried chicken halfnhalf approx. $23). The corn cheese arrived first (after another extremely long wait) in the smallest little ceramic plate fit to feed a 6 week old fetus. It was literally only corn and cheese. My 5 year old brother could’ve whipped that together. Next, the chicken was served and it was not horrible. It was actually quite delicious and crispy with a reasonable portion. It was actually the reason why i gave a 2 star review and not 1. It was the best out of the three dishes we ordered considering the rabokki never even came out and apparently “went to the wrong table”. In the end, after much waiting, we cancelled the rabokki order, paid and left. Not planning on returning:)

Good food but horrible service. Will not come back. We wanted to order food but the server said we can’t take food to go, even though there’s a ‘to go’ menu. The attitude of the server was very rude for no reason.great way to lose customers.

I love their Korean fried chicken here! If you’re trying it for the first time you have to get original soy flavour. It’s always busy here on weekends. Great place to have some drinks and snack on some deep fried goodness. *DEAL ALERT* On week days they have a special where you can get pork hock on the side with your order of fried chicken for $5. Make sure you ask your server.

The chicken here is delicious. It is cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside but still tender and juicy on the outside. The prices are about what you would expect for a “trendy casual” downtown restaurant. But it is worth it if you want some delicious fried chicken.
