Bearly's House Of Blues & Ribs

The bar is dark and seedy at best, ribs seemed ok, we had wings and Filipino noodles, salty & bland. The advertisement appears as
if you are seeing Catherine Robertson comedy, not true, she hosts an
amateur standup night, mediocre, a little disappointing.

Great venue with great music, comedy and karaoke. The food is WAY better than you might expect looking at the place and highly recommended, and the service is great. A Halifax staple that everyone should visit when they're in town.

The place has an amazing vibe. When we went in there while we were passing by and man what a night we had. The band was playing, people just dancing away on the floor and even though we were just there for a single night we made a couple of great acquaintances. Must visit esp on Sundays or Wednesdays when the band is playing!

Well well the foood is basic and over priced. $18 for wings. No fries. $9 for sweet potato fries are you kidding me? ! Went for the band but paid $20 cover (2ppl) for an awful band. Scarecrow something is right. Ya unless it’s a “name” or you know the band maybe? Make sure bc not worth the price of admission or bad food.

We drank 2 beers, but the barmaid said she was kicking us out because we were too drunk. We didn't do anything weird, we just talked. We asked why we were being kicked out, to which she said, "because I want it that way. " This bar is the place where you will be kicked out for no reason even if you paid for the entrance.

As a cheap person, I appreciated the daily special of a pulled pork hamburger with fries for 13/14$. It was a good size and tasted good.

Atmosphere-wise, I liked the pool table up on the upper floor and the comedy night.

Rotation of very talented and fun musicians. Authentic and unpretentious. Very friendly staff. Food is the only negative.

Pork skewers (plus steamed rice) and calamari are highly recommended. Live music is great and makes this place vibrant.
If you have lived in Halifax and you're not aware of Erin, you have wasted your life then!

It's been a while but everything has remained authentic, lovely and intimate in here.
Never miss the knob creek with the pork skewers!
Will be back to see how is the calamary after almost two years.
Another update:
Daniel's attitude needs to be recognized at this fantastic place. Today I reunited with the pork (butt) skewers and I can't even dump my brain about it. It's just the best. The good news is they high likely don't move this year.

Bearly edible… was very disappointing, as the food was really hit or miss. They were also out of several things on the menu.
Two of our six meals was awful.the Crispy Kare Kare was overdone pork belly with a flavorless, peanut sauce the consistency of brown gravy. The bok choy was unrecognizable and buried in the gloppy sauce. The Lechon Kawali was flavorful but so salty it was inedible.

The ribs were mediocre but at least edible.

The pork BBQ Combo however was a home run. Too bad the other three meals didn’t score!

Maybe it was a off day but nonetheless less disappointing…

Our server was great, very nice but just gave us a sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal.

What would you like? Great food? Check. Great music? Check. Great atmosphere? Check. Great service? Check. Head to Bearly's asap.

Great live music, atmosphere and great staff! I've never seen a band there that wasn't exceptional! All I'd change are the chairs. They wrap around you and aren't comfortable.

Always have a great time at Bearly's! Love the Pancit Guisado with Shrimp.

Suggestions: Need more hoppy beer, and add an extra staff person on for upstairs, the poor woman was run off her feet.

My partner and I live a few buildings away from Bearly's and we always saw the posters on their windows for live music. We went on a Saturday and they had the band called Iron Wheel. That band along with the food was the perfect duo. Omg whatever the big burger is ORDER IT! I'm still singing "Hey Mama" & wishing I ordered a burger to go as well. Overall Rating 25/10

The food is excellent, we had the hamburger and the ribs both were delicious. Staff is very nice. Also there were 2 musicians playing Blues, they were also good which gave a nice ambiance to our dinner. The place might look a little run down, but don't get fool. I suggest this place.

Well the building may be decrepit the heart and soul of this downtown establishment continues to beat.
Filipino inspired cuisine that if you were to get it and a purely Filipino restaurant would probably double the price. If you just come in for a drink do yourself a favour and try something off the menu.
Great place to see local talent and add your support of local arts.

A group of us attended a Wednesday evening comedy show, karaoke, and wing night. Overall, the experience was not memorable and the food was a little disappointing. The comedians ranged from poor to mediocre in their standup acts. We sampled several wing combinations as well as the deep-fried pepperoni. The wings were dry/overcooked and would have been better with more sauce. I believe that the pepperoni was mild as it lacked flavor. I realize that serving mild pepperoni ensures that no guests are put off by this product for being too hot, although if there was an option for a spicier flavour, this dish would have been drastically improved. However, the servers were very friendly, attentive, and quick to replenish our beverages.

Went to see the Mellotones and enjoyed myself immensely! This place is a no frills, down to earth, groovy place. Drinks are unpretentious, food is hearty and the music keeps your toes tapping and you waist moving. Definatly a great girls night out venue or date night.

A Halifax landmark for live local music. Fairly dark, tavern-type environment with old wooden armchairs and round tables. Very casual environment with eclectic mix of patrons. Unpretentious fun little bar/music venue, great for 40+ crowd who still want to go out and have a good time - all age ranges and dancing-aptitude levels are made to feel comfortable here.

The staff was friendly and the food was great. As a tourist from Ontario Id recommend checking this place out next time youre in halifax.

Walked in by chance on a Thursday evening; stand up comedy, and karaoke night. Comedy was amusing, but things really livened up when the karaoke got going. Some good singers, and same great entertainment, including the Eurithmics, Taylor Swift, some classic crooners, soul, bit of punk rock, and of course the usual mix of pop/rock. Great atmosphere, and super nice staff. They even ran after me to return my hat and phone when I had left them behind on the bar. Thank you Bearlys, for a great night.

My favorite place in all of Halifax. The best nights are Wednesdays by far, as they are standup comedy & karaoke night.

This is a pokestop so that is great. Close to several gyms too. Nice and divey if you are looking for a less polished Halifax experience. Beer is good, the kitchen changes up kind of often but is generally pretty good. Service has always been prompt and friendly.

One of the realest places in the city. A great place for good blues, and a nice comedy/ karaoke night on Wednesday.

Very good price on Keith's. Often live music on which tends to be very good. Very close to the HI hostel so a great opportunity to meet others travelling in the city for one drink.

A very dim lit blues bar, often featuring great live music, if you want to have a sociable drink, look no further!

The gal on the two bartenders I've had are top drawer! Especially Gina. Friendly, efficient and a wealth of information for an "out-of-towner" with a bunch of questions.

Great little Blues Bar, friendly people and staff. If the kitchen isn't open they don't mind if you bring food in from the restaurant next door.

We had the nicest time killing a few hours here.the beautiful soul that was running the front of house was the most kind, funny and helpful human.hope to visit again
