We ordered pan fried Haddock with a salad. It was very good. The pub has a nice atmosphere and the back section has a pretty view of the river.

Food and service has always been very good at the River Pub. We've been living in Bridgewater since 1997. This is our "go to" place for a bite and a drink and a view of the Lahave. We've never been disappointed! I can always count on getting a good glass of Pinot, delivered with a smile!

I came with my mother and we both ordered the steak and both ordered it medium with mashed potatoes. My mothers order came out and the waitress informed me that the steaks were put down at the same time but mine was taking a bit longer. My mom was almost done her meal before my meal came out so overcooked it was chewy. While I waited for my meal I saw the cook eating his mashed potatoes with gravy on them. Poor service poor quality and the cook needs to be replaced with someone who knows how to cook.

Busy at peak times. Small patio overlooking river. We had a really delicious lobster roll and local brews which was the perfect supper for a warm humid evening.

Food was good. Service was mediocre at best and tainted our overall experience on a pretty quite night. Waitress completely ignored our table once our food was brought out. She would go and check on the other tables on the patio, but didn’t seem to concerned about us. Ended up having to flag her down for the bill instead of staying for a few drinks as planned, and left. Will be taking my money elsewhere next time for sure!

Really good food! Only had a hand full of things from the menu so far, but everything me and my wife had was amazing! Service is really friendly too!

Service was friendly and fun. The menu has lovely gluten-free options. The gluten-free lemon pepper haddock was delicious. Caesar salad dressing is lovely. My friends had nachos and the other a burger, the Maple chili burger and both said they were delicious. The maple chili burger was a bit messy to eat. But the flavor was wonderful. Cheesecake lovely. Atmosphere really nice. A lovely place that we will return to again. We were enjoying ourselves so much, we forgot to take pictures.

Delicious, fresh, good service, friendly. We had: chowder, club sandwich and goat cheese burger (to die for ️️️)

Lunch on the balcony was lovely. The burgers (On locally made kiaser rolls) and salad were superb!

Wonderful service that is friendly and quick! That Maple Chili burger is one of the most delicious things on the planet, I swear! Although it was so hard to choose what to order off the menu, because everything sounds way too delicious to choose one thing! I'll definitely have to go back for more!

Very long line to get seated during a crazy busy dinner rush but the staff were amazing and we didn't have to wait long at all for anything. Top notch service!

Amazing food as always! I had the Steak and a Cesar Salad. It was so delicious! I also cannot go to the pub without eating a Mozza Sticks with the pub's signature curry mayo sauce! So good! Parking can be a bit rough depending when you go. You might end up parking up the street a ways and walking. But it is well worth it! The servers are very attentive and really friendly also.

Grilled Chicken, bacon and goat cheese sandwich on a warmer Italian bun. This was the most amazing sandwich I have ever eaten! How can I eat another sandwich ever again? I am sad I did not take a picture.
Staff were all friendly, showed interest in us having what we needed (drinks etc). I highly recommend this place!

Was in a rush- went in - got seated - got suggestions - took that suggestion- food came out unbelievable fast - delicious - friendly! Would come back —— plus what a view!

When you have great food, great atmosphere, great drink, great experience, you need to tell someone or everyone. This place in Bridgewater NS can't be kept secret. The River Pub, taste buds blown! I had the steak sandwich and my wife had the goat cheese club. Absolutely delicious! We had a couple of River ales (Propeller Product) Fantastic! Not to mention priced right, staff super friendly. A great dining experience!

We had a waitress named Rachel she went above and beyond her serving duties, she was kind polite and had a great singing voice. That particular day was busy and some shortages, however due to great staff and good food we will be back.

Beautiful view, friendly staff my sandwich was good. The french fries were over cooked, that was minor. It was busy, but it was fast service

Fantastic food, excellant staff, fast service with a beautiful location, and quite possibly the best cheeseburger I have ever eaten.

It was the first time in this quaint Pub and the food was excellent. I had the chicken bacon and goat cheese sandwich and it was very good

The patio overlooks the river, which is quite nice. They cut their own fries, so they're phenomenal. The fish and chips are quite good. The chowder is gluten free, but not very creamy/thick (just a preference thing to note). The club is a cold chicken club, also just a preference thing. We'd definitely go back to try some other things.

Had a "romantic" 43rd wedding anniversary dinner. As usual the food was excellent and the server very nice and personable.

Prices are decent, food is good, steak is cooked properly but it's a bit tough (Guessing it's a Sysco packaged deal or something)

View from the patio is amazing. Staff was awesome as well.

River Pub is about the view, the people and camaraderie, the meals are good but definitely Pub style. The outdoor patio overlooking the river is wonderful.

First time there, food was great. Friend and I split maple ba on chicken burger and the chicken and goat cheese burger! Yummy flavors. Fries are hand cut too, also had Bulwark cider. Waitress was very nice! Great spot.

I am not normally one to write a review, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the meal at I had at the River Pub in Bridgewater NS the other day!
I had a summer salad with tons of fresh fruit, goat cheese and a really yummy raspberry dressing, and I also tried their seafood chowder, witch was also delicious! Not only did it have nice large fresh scallops, but it had nice big pieces of lobster meat!
I would DEFINITELY recommend this restaurant, not only was the food amazing, but the view was beautiful as well! I can’t wait to go back!

I had the panko breaded haddock on spinach salad with bruschetta topping and a green salad.it was served rapidly and was tasty.service was friendly.

Potatoes skins were small and tasteless, onion rings greasy and horrible taste and on top of this it was expensive. Only reasons I gave it 1 star was the staff were nice and attentive.

Disappointing across the board. 45min for appetizers, another 20min for mains and in the end, hard burnt burger. Just waw.

Delicious meal out on the patio today. They opened yesterday with restrictions due to the pandemic. Very friendly and helpful staff! So nice to eat out finally and have a wonderful experience.

Good spot, whenever I'm down in the Southshore I usually stop here for a bite, we had male server who looked like elton john, he wasn't the nicest and was rude, but outside of that experience, the foods is always good and service has been really great!

Great place, been going there for years, food is great, staff are very nice, and being able to look out onto the river is awesome.

Had a bit of a uneasy feeling when we first walked in cause everyone was staring at us (probably since we were not locals) but our server KILLED it! Working that dinning room all by herself. She was plesent quick and friendly. Felt kinda bad since (I feel like) the manager or owner walked around on his cell phone with his mask down, but hey we all know how bosses and managers can be sometimes.

Definitely will be back again!

I wouldn't recommend this pub eatery, my food was cold (not fully cooked) the staff wasn't very friendly and the bathroom facilities was very dirty, I won't be returning, 2 thumbs down and very deserving of one star, I'd give them 0 stars if it was an option, the experience was quite disappointing and not cheap

We stopped here while driving through Nova Scotia and were pleasantly surprised. They have a lovely location right on the river, and their food and portions are huge. Its fairly spacious inside and the staff are fantastic. I think the owner was in when we were there, and he was really nice - walked us through the menu and recommended dishes - we felt very well looked after and left happy. Will go back next time I am in NS

This is our first visit back since we moved to Bridgewater. Delicious chicken wings, lobster rolls and drinks and Megan was an excellent server. We will be back!

Went for Brunch with a friend. Great service, great food. Nice atmosphere. Serving size is more than adequate. We'll be back for sure.

Visiting Bridgewater from Kitchener, ON and had the pleasure of meeting local friends for lunch at the River Pub. It is a bit quirky but very cozy pub overlooking the LaHave River and, even though it is winter, the views were fantastic! Had a pint of the River Pub Ale to start, it was a well-balanced, bright, and hoppy brew, and paired amazingly with the Mustang burger and fries. The burger was delicious, savoury actually, served with the regular fixings, on a very fresh bun from Weagles Bakery which is located across the street. Had the fries, which were crispy and evenly-cooked, whilst my friends had their burgers with Greek Salad and curlers (curly French fries) which were quite appetizing. The price was a great value for the outstanding quality of the food and drink. The service was friendly, efficient, and overall it was an excellent experience. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
