Sobeys Queen Street

One of our everyday go-to places for groceries. The store offers a variety of fruits, vegetables, meat, other regular groceries, eggs, milk, fish, frozen food, and pharmacy. The food is mostly fresh. They have a good collection of plants as well. Considerable number of self checkout counters, as well as billing counters. They could have stocked more variety of vegetables though for which I need to go to Mumford terminal.

I used to frequent this Sobeys until this morning when an employee from the cashier threw the coffee pod I had purchased afar out of rage, when I asked for assistance with the coffee machine.

Their coffee machine in the lounge wasn’t working so I went back to the cashier and asked for her assistance. She came to me and threw my coffee pod in the garbage. Then, when I said that that was the pod I had just purchased with her, she took the pod back from the garbage and gave it to me. She first argued it wasn’t mine coffee pod she had just thrown afar, then realized it was actually the one I had just purchased. She didn’t apologize and even blamed me for not being able to operate the machine. A machine that was out of order by the way…

She was very rude to me in some many instances of our brief interaction when I was purchasing my items. But throwing the pod afar out of disturbance with a help request was just awful. I don’t understand the reason for so much hatred.

When I asked for a new coffee pod she argued that the content inside the pod was still the same (despite it having just been thrown in the garbage.) Almost denying to provide me a new one, this is unbelievable… I had to insist and refer to another lady, a brown lady more polite and compassionate.

That was the worst customer service I have ever had in Canada. I never expected to treated like this at a Sobeys.

Good selection of groceries. A long queue at both self-serve and in-person checkouts. Size of the store is convenient for finding things fairly easily. But signage is inadequate and not well-thought out. I often have to ask staff about where something might be found.

A smallish grocery store, with some older, knowledgeable people still on staff. Looks good since a recent renovation, but it is difficult to figure out who their target customers might be. There are a lot of of standard items that they no longer carry-seems to be hit and miss. Need a manager to reintroduce some coherence to the items they stock.

The weirdest layout of any grocery store I’ve seen (toilet paper in the organic section? !). Poorly stocked pharmacy.

The new small registered make it pretty confusing and stressful when buying a weeks worth of groceries

Sobeys on Queen St has been a fixture in the South end since before I was a kid. More than just a chain store, they have gone out of the way to help my family on more than one occasion. Great local grocery store.

Love this store, didn't like the changes to the aisles at first but now I have gotten used to the setup and it works quite well

It’s an alright store, students get 10% off on tuesdays and they have a good selection for most products.however, the store layout is very poor

Honestly I used to detest this Sobeys, but after the renos I actually go out of my way to shop here. Still a bit small, but it has a fantastic layout, and there is a lot of variety for such a small store

The only change I wish they would make would be to extend their hours, since I sometimes only have have time to shop late at night and theres no option to get groceries at 11pm in the south end

Bakery here isnt what it use to be.no rolls, raisin bread, no fresh bread in general and shelves look bare everytime i go.wanted dinner rolls but im looking at 3 hard rolls behind glass, ill pass

Huge selection of all kinds of foods. We found everything we needed. However, there is no alcohol, you have to go to the small extra shop on the corner for that.
