$20 with tip for a basic. Breakfast. 3 eggs 3 bacon 2 slices of toast. Lotsa of coffee. Home fries. Too much $$$ but times have changed. Good food and service tho.
Food was delicious and portion size was very generous. I’m glad that we didn’t order 2-piece meal as the fish piece was huge. Servers were very friendly and helpful. Recommended.
The fish was terrible. It looked like someone beat it up with a mallet it was flat and tough too. Not worth the 25.00 dollars I paid. I shoulda gone to Red Lobster their the same money, fresher food and more food too. Sorry your food needs improvement badly
My family and I love Archie's. Truly the best fish & chips you will ever eat. Have never found any better and we have tried tons! There's a reason this restaurant has been around for as long as they have.
This place is a family go to for breakfast, and offers great food at a fair price. Arguably, the best home fries in London. The service is quick, as well as warm. I started eating here with my mom at 2, and 30 years later the same waitress is serving on Sundays with a smile. The commitment to who they are is their greatest asset. You know to expect the same dishes to be perfectly made and consistent every time. Please never change a thing.
Had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant today and opted for their Atlantic haddock fish & chips. I was genuinely impressed! The fish was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and had just the right amount of crisp without being too oily. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff. Based on this experience, I'd confidently rank this place among the top fish & chips joints in London. Highly recommend giving it a try! ️
The halibut was awful. It used to be so good years ago. I will not be back. The prices you have to pay and the quality is not there. The coleslaw was really good
Hey I have been coming here for more than 30 years. The fish is so good and the service is even better. Absolutely love this place. I would have left 5 star but my fries were under cooked. Next time I will request my fries to be crispy. I would 100 percent recommend checking them out.
The piece of fish I received was very thin and overcooked making it dry and tough. Unfortunately I didn't complain as I was being treated for my birthday dinner. I've always had excellent fish here, so I will be back. I think this was an oversight.
I ordered from this restaurant on wharncliff they charged me $34 on sale for 3 pieces of haddock. This came with no side no French fries! Regularly it would of been $55 without the coupon for 3 small pieces ($18 per fish) of haddock with no side! Never have I ever paid that amount even at the other archies for 3 Pieces of small fish all by themselves. I will never order from them again.
I only ordered here because Ye old fish and chips was closed. Pretty simple order, 1 piece haddock 1 clam chowder. I got 1 piece under cooked haddock and a rice and chicken soup. Don't waste your money. It's terrible.
Not bad. This is the flagship (lol) Archies replete with the "world famous" lighthouse tower and nautical themed decor. Standard fish 'n' chips but nothing really spectacular. I ordered the 5oz. "hand cut" wild Alaskan chunk of halibut enveloped in a clean, light batter (upon request). OK what's wrong about ordering a salad? Nothing if you don't want to eat 3 potatoes (that's about how many potatoes are used per serving of chips). Diners ought to have the choice of whether or not they want a drowned salad. I made the mistake of not asking for dressing on the side. Mind you, I caught my error after he order went in (sorry!) and the serving staff let the kitchen know that I was a jerk for doing so (overheard on the way to the clean washroom). Yes, my bad but do you really have to say that to the kitchen? Geesh. We were stuffed, but had a little room left to share a birthday coconut cream pie which was good (likely not baked in-house). Wait staff mixed up bills at the end of the night and nobody on staff knew how to do a refund. Oh, and make sure you don't sit at the tables near the entrance door as it's drafty and cold. Food temperature went down very quickly as a result (the food wasn't served hot anyway.) If there were 1/2 stars, I would give this restaurant 2.5 stars.
I've passed by this place plenty of times on my way home and have always wanted to give it a fair shot.
In all, the place was okay. I do not recall which of the signatures dish that I got, but it was the largest size. It wasn't bad, a bit tasteless that the lemon and the mayo like sandwich spread did most of the carrying. Even then I had to add vinegar. The fries that came with it wasn't anything special, but I enjoyed the coleslaw.
Their strawberry rhubarb pie was good.
If you want to stop by a place for a quick meal and you want fish and chips, the place is a decent contender and fairly cheap. Service seems like a nice bunch where if you dine in a couple of times they will remember you.
