I had a dangerously underweight six month old puppy. After running tests with my vet, they couldn’t find the cause - so I decided that it was time to get him off of his Open Farm kibble and see if this was the root of the problem (no hate to Open Farm, they’re a great brand - just not a good fit for my guy). I came to the store and asked the staff for their suggestions, and it truly saved my boy! He is a healthy weight, has a beautifully shiny coat, and great energy levels. The knowledgeable staff here at Global made an excellent recommendation, went above and beyond with ideas of other options if this one didn’t work, and were able to easily answer some of my more challenging questions. They really know their stuff, and I have a very healthy and happy dog all thanks to them!

I was in store looking for a new crate for a rescue husky that we had just adopted that day. I was trying to choose between the wire collapsible style or the hard plastic one. There wasn't a wire crate set up in store to look at, but I ended up purchasing that one ($193.00 with tax), as it offered more room.
We got it home and set it up but we didn't think this crate would be strong enough for our husky, especially the flimsy doors. We collapsed it back down and re-boxed it, our husky was never in it. I wanted to return it to the store (it had only been 2 days) and exchange it for their more costly hard plastic one. However, they don't offer any exchanges or refunds on opened crate boxes, NO exceptions to this policy. I do find it interesting that they will take back mostly full opened bags of dog food, though.
There needs to be a more transparent way of letting customers know their policies when purchasing a large ticket item like this, either by the staff mentioning this at time of purchase, or a sign at the check out that would be highly visible. Also, there should be a wire collapsible set up in store for customers to view; had I been able to see a display model, I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place.
I had just started buying expensive high end food there, and now with 2 large dogs in our home, we would be spending a lot more on food. I was also looking to purchase a barrier gate for our vehicle. I will be sourcing these items from other retailers now.
So much for trying to buy local.

Sometimes things are a bit pricey but then I take a look at other stores and find global pet is comparable if nor better priced for the majority of items. Staff are always kind and knowledgeable every time I'm in and if you can't find what your looking for they're more then willing to order it in for you if it's possible on their end. The rewards program makes everything even better. My favorite parts are the fact they are able to offer advice on so many things or at least know where to find the information and the friendly vibes always a conversation to be had highly recommend them. Only thing is they dont carry live crickets, meal works hornworms type of stuff
