Delicious.the portions were a good size and very well prepared. The service was fast and the food was hot. Very good experience and we will be returning soon.

Went to try the place out for the second time because they have a buy 1 get 1 free to celebrate new management, it was very disappointing.

We got seated, no one brought us any water or anything else, we had to call server twice for someone to come take our order. The new manager does not seem familiar with the menu at all.

Food came out decently fast and the halibut meat was fresh, portion is bigger than before, they did change their caesar salad recipe though, it has a lot of anchovies fishy taste in it which I don't like, their old caesar recipe was better. Then, no one brought us any utensils, yes, no fork, no knife, we had to ask 2 different servers TWICE for them to bring utensils. Sat there for about 10 minutes waiting for utensils after the food arrived.

I ordered a fish chowder that I had to follow up with THREE different servers and waited around half an hour, after we were almost done with our main dish, for the chowder to come out. And again, no spoon, had to ask server twice again to get a spoon. Chowder was very dense, not the creamy type but tasted pretty good.

Finally bill time, again had to ask 2 different servers twice for the bill. We joked about how they probably won't even notice if we just walked out, waited 25 minutes to get the bill.

During the entire time, no one came around to ask how are we doing, no one checked on us once, not even the new manager.

They explained that everything are slow because the staff are new, BUT shouldn't you train your staff way before and let them get familiar first? The restaurant was not big, there was 7-8 staffs I'm seeing, but some of them seem to have no idea what's going on sometimes.

It only took us about 20 minutes to eat and more than twice the time just spent waiting for them to bring something we need.

I went in to do take-out. They over charged me for my order and then refused to rectify their mistake. The staff were unfriendly and rude. I asked for packages of tartar sauce and the guy behind the counter seemed disturbed as if I asked him to more than their required minimum.
I would never go back or recommend to anyone I know.

I did takeout from here and everything was drenched in oil. I felt like i was drinking oil!

Take out order was barely lukewarm, the fish was very greassy and the fries tasted like they were a day old.not happy!

This is absolutely a delish fresh fish n chips house! Huge portions and reasonable pricing!

Absolutely terrible service. We used to eat here all the time, my last 2 visits have convinced me to do take-out only going forward.

When paying for takeout I said skip the tip. When I got the receipt it included a 15% tip. Not at all happy

Fish was undercooked, which was surprising as we ate regular customers. Over $40 into the garbage! Tasted like batter, not proper fish the way it should be. Chips were like warm too.
The grease was so bad it bled through the box, the wax paper in the box and right through the brown paper bag - on to my car seat.
Disappointed to say the least. Out $40 and still hungry.

Fish & Chips were very tasty and crispy. The interior was very lean and comfortable. My only concern was the food was pricey for the proportions. Somewhat disappointing.

Nice decor. Good size portions. Tasty fries and onion rings but the Halibut fish breading was not fully cooked through unfortunately. I

They were very good! The fries were big and were served at a real big amount, the fish portions were also big and large well worth the price! They do not give you cutlery aitomatically they told us that unless One asks for cutlery they wont give it because some people order to eat their orders at home with their own cutlery and that is fine I can understand that. They did not have many sauce options, although their mult vinegar is delicio!
They gave us plenty of packets of ketchups, tartar sauces and malt vinegars!
Please know if you want cutlery you must ask for it and other than that they are radical!

This was our first time eating at this restaurant. My husband was craving clam strips and this is one of the few places that has them on their menu. I had the halibut and chips and coleslaw and he had a double order of the clam strips with coleslaw. So delicious! The batter is light and golden and not salty and the fries were nice and warm and also golden not burnt. Service was excellent, the waitress kindly asked the kitchen to put the double appetizer portion with coleslaw turning it into a proper meal for my husband. Our meal came out in under 10 minutes. Will definitely come back.

I’m from NS and been looking for a decent fish n chips spot in the city, I was surprised and happy to finally see haddock. They have a wide variety menu and the fish was pretty good. However, the fries were tasteless and they need to change their condiment supplier. Tartar sauce is what makes the dish for me and it was trash. Tasted more like sweet mayo; the ketchup was also knock off. This place would be pretty good if they didn’t cheap out on the condiments/seasonings. $25 is expensive for a 2-piece too, big jump from 16 bucks for a 1-piece. The prices don’t make sense.

Went here for lunch and got the halibut fish and chips.

Fish:
- Flavourless and dry
- VERY Greasy and Batter was falling off
+ Batter had decent crunch
+ tartar sauce was good

Chips:
+ if you like cardboard these are amazing!
- Dry, and tasteless, no seasoning at all
- limp and soggy

2 Stars cuz it was at least made to order and the front counter lady was nice.

Update:
Reduced from 3 to 1 star.
The prices went extremely high while the portions were consirable reduced.
For these new prices you can go to a higher level restaurant and enjoy a better plate for less money.
This was my last visit to this place.

Food is really fresh and delicious. I really liked Calamari and seafood platter. I didn’t like fries that much but overall food was amazing. If you like seafood then you should definitely visit this place. They have a nice sitting area for dine in as well.

We have gone there twice, we absolutely love this location! The server is great! We were served by the same lady twice. She is super friendly & efficient. I would recommend this place to anyone. Yes it is expensive but no more expensive then other fish & chip locations.the food was hot & tasty. Keep up the great work & standards.

Just bought the sunday special would give 10/5 if I could the fish is amazing the best ive had in a very long time. Customer service wad also amazing. This place is a hidden gem.

Forgivable, but while I don't like being critical because the restaurant business is hard, it's important that restaurant owners take note because bad quality will always take a business down. So what was wrong? Portions were good, flavour was good, halibut was good, but the oil was old and the fish and chips were super greasy. These guys have one job.to fry fish and chips, so the temperature of the oil and time spent in the frier must be accurate, and the oil MUST be fresh. I could taste the old oil, and frankly, greasy fish and chips are not cool when that's your business. Please change your oil on a regular basis and monitor your oil temperature and time cooking. I will give this place another chance and hope to report back that it was an isolated incident. Update: while I hate being critical because the restaurant business is tough, this place STILL doesn't get it. Tried again a year later and STILL greasy!

I’m not one for reviews but, top notch restaurants need it right now. Such a great experience even though ordered through Uber eats! I made a few extra requests (extra sauce and separate box for fish so it stays crispy) and did they deliver! Definitely extra sauce and everything came so perfectly packaged! Also, portion size of everything was great and tasted so amazing! They definitely took extra care with entire order. Best fish and chip in the area.not the first time ordered and definitely not the last. Restaurants so need support during these times and places like this make it worth it!

The pieces of fish were very thin and greasy and it looked like I got the left over fries. Some were burnt others seemed improperly cooked and dry. The fries were terrible. The price The $30 price was ridiculous

Decided to pick up dinner today on Good Friday around 6: 00pm & they are OPEN! I tried to call in to place an order ahead of time but the line was busy.

They have a limited 'Good Friday Menu' to order from and the rest of their menu is unavailable today.

Upon arriving there was already quite a bit of people standing outside waiting for their order (~30 people) which is expected on Good Friday. You still go inside the front entrance and line up to place your order.

The lady taking the order was friendly & efficient and even with 7 people in front of us, it took less than 10 minutes to get to the front to place our order. The rest of the staff were quite busy getting orders filled.

After placing your order, you're then given a number and asked to wait outside. The wait for our food after placing our order took about 40-45 minutes. Thankfully it wasn't too cold out.

The great thing is that our food was nice and hot, however the batter on the fish was a bit on the soggy side and more greasy than usual.

Will we be coming back here? YES because the food is generally good! But next Good Friday we'll probably plan to arrive earlier in the evening to avoid a longer wait time.

Patience is a virtue these days so make sure to bring some if you plan to come on this busy, busy day.

I wasn't happy with this place. Batter was falling off. They packed my order without any care. It was so greasy we had to unpack the order in my garage because the oil was dripping out of the containers. It's like the placed the fish in the containers straight from the fryer without placing it on a drip tray first. Everyone deserves a second chance, but I spent over 130 bucks and I don't think I can do that again here. 2 stars for the friendly people at the front. None of the chefs I saw in the back were wearing masks.

Not usually a fan of fish and chips but Halibut House has converted me! The food is fresh and delicious, and I don't know what they do to their fries but they're amazing!

This place deserves more then an in-mall fast food, this place is an entire restaurant. The prices are absolutely spectacular and the sizes are stunning. They taste wonderful and its 90% fish and not breading, its a great deal.

Absolutely BEST Halibut and Chips and onion rings by far! Not over-priced either. Florida doesn't even know what Halibut is and they never serve it in restaurants.

Hours are only suggestions. Show up at least 10min prior to closing time as cook leaves at least 5 min before closing.

Halibut is so battered.fresh but over priced.fried are horrible.combo is 18 plus and you get no coslaw.would pay for the lunch portion but over priced for for portion when u get way to much fries

Came for lunch on Wednesday August 19/20. Was told they are only doing takeout? Place was empty even though other restaurants in the plaza were busy.
No wonder, no patio, no dine in.

Drove all the way to 2814 Lakeahore Rd location in Etobicoke. They seated us and served the best fish n chips I've had. Now my go to location.

First time eating here. Fish was excellent, very big piece of halibut. The coating was light and not overly thick, it was flaky and good. Fries were amazing, and coleslaw was like home made. Great fish and chips. A must try! Loved it!

Pretty darn good fish and chips. I don't know if there was an error but I was charged over $50 for 2 plates of halibut. If that is the case it was expensive. If it was an mistake then the quality was great.

We've been here a hand full of times and it never ceases to amaze me. The food is fresh, the service is crazy quick, and it's always hot, good food. I love the halibut, I love the fries, I love the gravy. 10/10 recommending to a friend or a stranger! If you like halibut, you'll like this. Batter is always light and crispy. Great portions at great prices and there is different special every day.

We visited Halibut house Oakville and we were happy we did! The waitress was ultra friendly (older Asian lady) and was genuinely concerned that everything was okay with our meal. The fish was very clean tasting and crisp, not greasy, good portion size and cooked perfectly. We also had the souvlaki dinner and we were very pleased with that too! The ambiance was nice too, no smells coming from the kitchen and they had a TV on with my favourite show, Three's Company.lol. We were pleased with the seating area, it was private and comfortable! This was our first visit and not my last!

This is one of my favorite go to places for fish and chips. I find this is good value for the price and the quality is very good.

Fish and chips were great. Halibut was a good sized portion. Onion rings were yummy as well. Service was good and friendly. Was not a cheap meal, nor was it expensive, but for good fish you'll pay a little more and this place is worth it.

Better at lunch than later in the day. Ordered the fish & chip platter, scallops/ship were deep fried too (didn't really expect everything to be fried). Tarter sauce (homemade was terrible) tastes like Mayo, ask for a take out package of sauce, not much better. Service was fast & friendly, location was empty with a few take out orders. Appreciated the wifi connection.

Great service but not that fish n chip feeling that I was expecting. I may be a bit biased as I am from the East coast. Too much batter on the fish and a bit thicker cut on the fish would help. The tarter sauce also needs revamping.

$7 for a Greek salad that is all but a couple bites. They don't give any tartar sauce what the fish very frugal not worth the money

Have to say, this wasn't worth the price at all. One piece halibut and a really basic Greek salad was $17.95. Not even a lemon wedge on the plate. The batter was good, but doubt the fish was halibut - way too thin. Probably cod. Greek salad was even tossed. Grated feta on top almost negligible. Dressing of some sort on the side was good, but never tasted a Greek dressing like it.

Server was not friendly.

Order grilled salmon ceasar salad and fries tonight. Grilled salmon was under seasoned and over cooked. Salad arrived with dressing already on it (we ordered from skip the dishes). Fries were decent but they had no salt and some tasted like they were older fries mixed with new ones.

Excellent food and substantial portions. If you go on a Monday or Tuesday (check) they have a special dinner that is more than worth it.
