If you're like me and DISLIKE the classic BEER BATTERED fish and chips, you'll love Halibut house. The breading on the filet is thin and crispy, the fries are hearty and delicious, and I love the tartar sauce.
Go on Sunday or Monday for a haddock special.

I thought the first time I went was not great but I thought because of the time that I got it and how is they were was the reason went back a week letter and I can tell you that the fish is always dry the fries are barely cooked

Affordable, excellent customer service and atmosphere. I was looking for a good place to eat fish & chips, and this one was a pleasant surprise. This is a gem located in Etobicoke.

I called in my order to be ready giving 15 min time. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly staff, my orders were ready. I ordered 3 of the Sunday Monday specials. The pieces were huge. Great value for money will definitely be back.

Was looking for authentic fish n chips and this place delivered! Light and flaky with very little grease. A ton of food for a fair price.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and sadly, I was a bit underwhelmed. I got it as delivery so I knew not to expect the fried foods to be crunchy but it didn't seem like the fries should have been that soft from a 10 min drive. The batter on the haddock and mushrooms was pretty bland and the tartar sauce wasn't really enough to save it. On the otherhand, the gravy was real tasty and the portions were decent. I would call it a mediocre fish and chip experience that would probably be better if eaten on location

Very disappointed with my recent visit. My French fries were undercooked and oily. The fish was ok but again the oil just oozed out of the package and not only onto its paper wrap but also seeped through the bag as well cutting a hole in the bag due to the sucking up of all that excess oil. This is inexcusable for a business in this industry. You don’t make many different things, you better do them well. Regardless, there are so many other businesses in this category that it’s time to move on to someone else.

Ordered haddock and poutine. Poutine was a good size portion. The haddock portion was small and extremely greasy. I love fish and chips but the fish was a no for me. Service was slow but staff was friendly and apologized for the delay.

The very first time we ordered the 5-piece takeut special, the halibut was quite good. However, we tried it again a couple of times and we were a bit disappointed. Last time, 3 pieces were ok, but 2 pieces were mostly batter, the fish fillet was thin and very tough.

Apparently just changed ownership. The food was amazing-light, crisp batter and the fries were fantastic too! Service was great and price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Halibut not cook inside its disappointing and it's tasteless as well as the fries, taste a bit bitter too, ended up throwing in the bin! It's sad!: (

We gave him two orders on Saturday he was going to close almost he charged us fifty rupees one he didn't give good service neither he gave good quantity very small quantity of fish and one was not good quality because it was stale. And there was rotten kind of fish that he gave so I urge you guys that this is giving a bad name to the company and it is giving at all.

I was looking for something to eat I saw this place so I decided to stop. I had the halibut and chips. I must say for the price it was pretty good and it was not too oily. Definitely a place I would go to again.

Pictured here is the regular halibut and chips - there’s actually 2 pieces of fish (the other one is hiding beneath). The halibut was perfectly breaded (not thick), super light and flaky. It was actually quite filling! If you dine-in you get coleslaw with the order. They have a lunch-sized portion which I’ll likely order next time since honestly, it was a lot to finish! There’s free parking in the lot next to the building if you need. Pleasantly surprised with this spot! Def check it out if you need your fish and chips fix.

We went here on Sunday as we needed fish & Chips and they were the only place open. Ordered by phone and when they told me the price I almost cancelled the order but my daughter had her heart set on Fish & Chips. Ordered 1 piece of fish with fries, 1 piece of fish with poutine, 1 small cole slaw and 2 ginger ales and it came to $57.00. We picked up our order and when we got home they had forgotten to include the ginger ales. Food was very greasy and sub par at best. Won't be eating here again.

My wife and I went for a late lunch on a Sunday, and we both ordered their Sunday special - what else?

Prices are reasonable, portions are decent, the service is good and quality is average.

Even though the restaurant was not busy, our fish and chips arrived warm - not hot.

The fish batter was on the heavy side - not as light and crisp as I would have preferred. The fries, however, were perfect (aside from being warm and not hot).

If you're in the area, it's certainly worth a try.

Bought Shrimp, Scallops and Halibut with chips to go. The Shrimps were not too bad, but the scallops and halibut were horrible. The batter used for both was extremely oily. The Halibut was missing the taste you come to expect from the other fish and chips places around the city. Additionally I am not too sure if the oily seafood packaged with the fires caused this, but the fries were drenched in oil and were very soggy. I understand if the food looses its taste over time of an hour, however I had just gone to a park 2 minutes away, so the time from purchase to consumption was not that long.

Love it but they changed the chowder which is no longer do great, please go back to the old stuff!

Service and fish are amazing! All staff are so friendly and attentive. The fish is the best! Fresh tasty and the batter is just right!

I ordered from here last week for the first time. Their food was delicious. I had the halibut and chips. I want to especially shoutout the cashier who was incredibly friendly. Kindness goes a long way. I will return.

I don't go here for dinner, there is a fish and chips place on 5th street which has better prices, food and service.
Their breakfast food is decently cheap, however, and it's a nice place to go for brunch.
The service is slow and the newest waitress messed up my meal, even over-charging me once.
Overall, there's worst places you could go, but don't expect anything high quality, or affordable for dinner
this doesn't reflect the chain overall but this particular location

Great place, good service huge portions for the daily special. This location and the one in St. Clair will definitely treat you well.

We've been here a few times now, always enjoy their fish and chips. Huge portions, crispy fish, tasty chips & coleslaw, a nice clean place with friendly service. There is free parking in a surface lot next to the restaurant. They have specials on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

I wasn't very happy with the food. The fries were dryed out and the fish was hard could never be lke new Toronto fish and chips.

Have had the Haddock, and Halibut now, both were fried perfectly crispy and were moist inside. Fries are also spot on

I can’t speak to their main dishes, but I come here regularly for their breakfast deal and I love it! Service is always spotty — some days it’s great, others it’s horrible. Food is consistent and price is very reasonable.

Excellent value: large piece of fish with a light, crispy (but not too crispy) batter, fried to a nice, even golden brown. Cooked just right. Large amount of fries too.

Very similar in quality to a fish & chips takeout joint in my old neighbourhood that I remember fondly. Good stuff.

Ordered the souvlaki dinner. $18. The salad and rice was good- the chicken was disgusting. Tasted like microwaved rubber. Had to throw it out. So I spent 18$ on rice and salad. Would not recommend

The fish is nicely cooked and fresh, not to much batter and crisp. Also do breakfast but I have not tried that. Staff friendly

The batter here is unbelievable. This was the most crispy onion rings and cod I have enjoyed in a long time.

Not the cheapest fish and chips place but you get what you pay for. The halibut is amazing, flakey with just the right amount of batter, and the chips are made in house fresh when you order. I will be coming back

Bland, cafeteria-like or fast food restaurant decor. I find it pricey for the neighbourhood and for lunch. I have dietary needs so I get salads, no batter or chips. They have generous sized salads presented without much imagination. My small Greek salad was quite large, but visually uninteresting, and had three olives on it. Three. Hahahaha. I had "clam chowder" that appeared to be a clam-flavored potato soup thickened with starch. Broth was translucent, not opaque. It was tasty, but lacked clams or significant cream. The server was very helpful and pleasant. That was a plus. It was my second visit. Not sure I'd go back, just because it's not bad, but not a great value. A soup and a salad at lunch shouldn't cost me twenty bucks after tax and tip and be "meh".

The oil the fish is done in tastes fresh, which is a problem for many fish & chip places.

I've gotten food from here a few times now and each time it has been fresh, hot, and tastey. The service is great and friendly. The tables and floors are clean. Best fries in the neighbourhood.

So surprised by this place. I found it randomly but was glad I did. Really good portion sizes, solid variety and taste is above average. Prices are also fair and it wasn't too busy when I visited.

Clean and reasonably priced. Licensed and nice decor. Food is good! I thought it was a family run, independent restaurant but it is a chain apparently.very nice. I can bring my whole family there. I like that it is not just fish and chips.the Souvlaki and salads are great options.

Lots of space, and the service friendly and prompt. But more than that the food is cooked to perfection.
