Halibut House Fish & Chips

Service was good but the food was only mediocre and only warm when it arrived, not hot.

Fish taste was good but not hot enough. Hamburger was fine but overflowing with mayo. The fries were plain and well spread on the plate for max cooling. Didn't get any coleslaw.

Really good fish and chips! Good price, also. Was way more than I should've eaten, But. I ate it almost all!

Ordered tonight after reading an article on how fish & chips shops may go extinct due to decreased sales associated with rising fish costs and customers pinching pennies due to inflation. Well it might be due to the declining quality more than anything else: chips were UNDER cooked and the fish was greasy - not flaky as is typical for halibut (it was tough in texture and likely not halibut). Cole slaw was served in a small drink cup and not fresh tasting at all. $70 in total for 2 people - not worth the gas to pick it up and I’ll never return. I like to support local businesses and take the occasional night off from meal preparation - but, as with local pizza joints - quality is getting very dismal locally and will go back to preparing my own pizza, fish and other meals 99% of the time vs. Take out. It’s a shame.

Update: I thank the owner for their response and offer; I always appreciate it when someone is monitoring and who demonstrates care for customer feedback. Not likely to redeem the offer, but thank you all the same as I’ll give you 4 stars for customer service response.
Would like to clarify 2 points.
1. What I meant by under cooked chips was partially raw - not just less than crispy
2. I only eat Halibut generally and I’m very familiar with it being moist yet somewhat flaky (opaque in colour and it will break or chip off in a flake size pieces). This halibut was tough in texture; not moist and the flake was dry.

Fish portion could have been larger with less fries.

Under new management. Fries are much better. The fish tastes great and they have condiments lemon specifically lol. 3 ladies working the front seemed to know how to work well in a kitchen. Much better experience.

Went in for breakfast this morning just before 11: 00 to get the special. They said no problem. Breakfast was very good.

Then we ordered fish and chips to go for later on.
Put in the oven for 8 minutes to warm up. Very very good fish and chips. Fantastic service and fantastic food.

We love the halibut house, they are so nice there and the food is always good, you always get good portions.

My mom got the food for me and everyone i talk to saying its good so i gave it a try. No flavor on the fish or or tartare sauce no good

We were there for lunch on Nov 16 after a few months since we don't live in Uxbridge. My wife and I ordered the breakfast special and noticed some new faces. Was told they were under new management
The breakfast was excellent and we would go back again.

Needed breakfast. Did the $2.99 promo. Normally 4.95 I think. It tasted fine and was all I needed. Those with larger appetites would need to order a larger meal. The signage was very clear what was included. (One egg) The restaurant is very clean and fresh looking. But design too "clinical" for my taste but I am not a restaurant designer. Presumably most love the white and blue.

Food was good nice and hot n cooked just right but afterwards the prices are going up and up and it’s getting out of hand how two dinners for two people was over $100 just for fish and salad

Good food quality, good portions, cooked perfectly, good service, clean restrooms. Reasonable prices especially Specials.

Just moved to Uxbridge. I noticed the sign for breakfast $2.99 which included 1 egg bacon sausage or ham toast and home fries. Coffees was extra. And to my surprise I must say it was probably the best breakfast I’ve had in years, it was that good. Very friendly atmosphere and inviting. I will bring my family and friends here. Try it!

Great service and delicious food. As a Bengali I know my fish and this place knows their fish. Highly recommend!

Service was incredible. Could not be better. Plus great food especially when your craving fish in the mornings

Horrific. Nobody at the front counter.you need to tap a bell. Once bell is tapped, a server comes out, takes the order and says 10 minutes for takeout. No problem. I come back in 10. My order is sitting on the counter by the cash register with nobody there. Again I tap the bell. A different server comes out, takes a look in the bag, mentions something about onion rings and right there, I said it's not my order. She leaves the bag open, goes to the back to check with the other server and then comes out and confirms it is my order and says she thought it was onion rings. I get home and there is, for want of a better word, globs of something in my gravy.could be the stuff that settles on the top of a warmer. The fish isn't edible at all.it's a square piece of garbage. The saving grace was a thrown together Greek salad. This is the THIRD time I've tried this restaurant. I'm done with this place.

Love that there is a great option to get some and chips on this side! Hope to go again soon. Thank you for the great service and friendly atmosphere!
