Halibut House Fish & Chips

Very well served. Came in got the halibut, big portion, also oil was fresh as you can see it in the color of the batter, light golden color. Oil makes a difference when it’s not burnt. The tarter sauce is served at the table which is a bonus. Put as much as you want. My partner got the souvlaki, chicken was very juicy and fresh, came with Greek salad and rice, and tzatziki. Superior customer service, very quick, food came quick too. Kid friendly with kid menu. I recommend this place.

So disappointed was there about a week or 2 ago and the fish tasted so off I always order halibut but this time it tasted so fishy and I actually threw up from it when I got home such a disappointment prior to me being there 2 weeks ago I ordered there about 2 months ago and it was fine now I have to drive to Newmarket just to get fish n chips that don’t have the over powering taste of fish such a shame

Had the Cod and poutine. Delish! Excellent service from the young server. Wish I had room for some of the Kawartha Dairies ice cream.

Had the Sunday Special (Haddock, Chips and Coleslaw). HUGE portion, kind and attentive server. Overall great value and taste, would come again.

Went in for take out today. Fish was hard as a rock and dry. Mistakes can happen in the kitchen. More annoyingly this place is notorious for not giving you any sauce with your order. 2 packs of tarter sauce are not enough for 2 medium sized pieces if fish. It's annoying to get home and realize this. Don't waste your time with this place, much better available in town. You can definitely see how cheap the owner is as it comes out in all replies to other reviews and how they handle condiments.

Got a poutine smelled and tasted bad.went back asked for a refund they said no. Never going back again. Rude people working there. I was a customer for years.

Just a update. I wrote the review after I was refused a refund. Then 5 minutes later I asked to speak to manager or owner. Was refunded 6 dollars on Poutine. As for 2 reviews I’m only one person. Still never going back. So many other options in Brafdord.

Stopped by for quick lunch. The cleanliness of the establishment is great.

I was quickly greeted and taken to the seating area. The server was polite and professional and asked all the right questions.

The serving was generous and very well prepared. The fish was lightly battered, and the fries were done just right.

On top of that the owner/chef even came out and asked it everything was acceptable, which it was.

I don’t do a lot of reviews but when I encounter great service and a place, and staff that truly take pride in what they do, it is worth commenting on.

I had the Halibut, greek salad and sweet potatoe fries, it was fantastic. The fish and the salad tatsted very fresh and tasty, customer service is excellent. I will be back again!

Highly recommend their Kawartha's ice cream with raisins.

Whoever fries the fish in this place knows how to do it perfectly. Crisp on the outside and a juicy fillet on the inside of the batter.

Kim the server is very polite and efficient and will make you feel at home. Located just off Hwy 400. And hey, unlike many other fish and chip places, this place is open on Mondays too. They have a Kwartha ice cream bar too.

Well this is incredible surprise of a fish and chips. So let's start off from begging, from the front it's a mall based restorant. When you enter its surprisingly clean and well organized, and the server is cheerful and was kind enough to point out the specials. Now on to the other food, it's EXTRAORDINARY and EPIC! Battered Cod was the special of the day and the batter is crisp o the outside, perfect on inside. Fish is expertly cooked inside, moist and literally breaks under the fork. The teste is worth a drive and downright extraordinary. Fries were just right and freshly cut and seasoned coleslaw salad complements the meal perfectly. Deserts, well this rounds the meal to perfection, double chocolate cheese cake as well as caramel cheesecake. This place was a blessing if you enjoy a great meal and fish and chips. Will gladly recommend and come Again for a visit. 6 STAR rating!

As always the staff are friendly and quick to serve. The food is always served hot and a good portion.

Went here for my birthday and could not more pleased. Kim, our server, was amazing and very attentive. The food was well portioned and very delicious.

Fish was meaty, both fish and fries were Fried to perfection. Golden and crispy.

Whole meal was made in front of us and it was hot and fresh. Fast service.

We got kids meal and this size is full size meal or more from any other restaurant. You really get your money's worth.

Definitely going to be our favorite food place in Bradford.

Good portions of fish, like the first sticks out both ends app. 1¹/² inches @ both ends of fish & chips box!

Food was ok, messed up the bill, overcharged on a meal and then took awhile to figure out what to do, to refund. Had to call the boss.

We ordered the 2 rich and chips, to share and still had to get a doggy bag. The portions are ample!

Happy to be eating inside restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Portion was enough for 2 and fresh. Would dine in again.

There is a Karen at the cash laud and not funny when makes the fun of the customer"s name on the order with the chefs.

I sat down and there was nothing for drink offered until toward the end of my meal when I asked for glass of water.

Food. The pieces of fish there were stuck together while being fried. It had a funny smell to it as well.

Food was mediocre. Service was great waitress was very good but don't think I'll be back. I'll stick to my little fish $chip store in queensville better homemade quality wat better prices.

My friend and I really enjoy this Restaurant. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Today was no different. The service was super fantastic, prompt and amazingly friendly, as always. I only have one question.where is the grease a number of people mentioned. Cause I gotta tell you there wasn't any on my plate, nor my friend's plate. Been here many times and today is no different, 5 STARS all the way. Have no idea how to send a pic with this review. Totally finished my plate. Great job to everyone who worked here on September 1st 2020

OMG WOW! Halibut was amazinggg, portion size was perfect; Best fish & chips I’ve ever had. Bonus points for friendliness, staff was very pleasant!

The fish is cooked very well (not oily like other places)
The price is reasonable
The Tartar sauce is homemade when you dine in (or ask for it)

The haddock we had for dinner was amazing.not oily. The amount of food you get is enormous. You won't be disappointed with this restaurant.

Ordered 2 meals of halibut and chips.
Order was ready on agreed time and girl was polite when picking it up.

-take out meal, thought there would be cutlery. None
-3 tarter sauces between 2 meals
-fries were not great. Taste was poor, not crispy.
- fish was dry and not great.
- 2 of those were $36. Not cheap
Fed me at least!

First time at this location in Bradford. I thought the place looked nice and clean. The service was fast and friendly, and the fish and chips I ordered was perfectly fried. I tried the Haddock, the portion size was great for the price. I would definitely recommend it and go again.

The place is pretty decent, the haddock and chips comes in a big portion for the lunch special, and the halibut also has a special but it's half the size of the haddock. My piece had a bit too much baking soda but that's okay.
Interior is okay, nothing fancy.
